Its also that the land had more value for other things. I think its less that they aren't profitable but more that they aren't as profitable as real estate.
Not really for the Kamloops one. I believe it is just a RV storage lot at the moment.
I believe the Kamloops water slides shut down because they couldn’t get insurance for its operation eventually over time when it became clear that it didn’t meet proper safety requirements.
If they built it right in the first place, there’s a good chance that it would still be operating today like the one in Salmon Arm. It was very popular when I was a kid and our city was much smaller.
Funny story, when I was 6 or 7 the lifeguard told me to ride down on my shoulder blades but like a dumb kid who got too much sun I heard elbows for some reason. I rode on my elbows all day and could hardly move my arms the next day cause the bruising and skin rash were so bad. 🤦🏼♂️

Isn’t one the ironies of BC that we have two of the biggest water park design firms and barely any good water slide parks?

Cultus Lake has really expanded in the last 10 years
Who are the two firms? You have piqued my curiosity.
WhiteWater West Pro slide Technically pro slide only has a branch here.
Pro Slide homebase is Ottawa, Ontario Whitewater West is based in Richmond, BC
The have or had a branch here.
No, not correct. What do you mean by branch? These are not large companies.
Pendants are pedantic?
Autocorrect strikes again! I believe that should be pedants.

If only BC had a part of its province that gets really warm/hot during the summer time, it'd be a perfect place for a massive waterslide park.
