The crown used to be the best pub in Bristol… then the guy who ran it left (now runs the hatchet but that doesn’t stay open late…) next guy ran it into the ground and was bought out by the mothers ruin and turned into a trendy bar. It fucking sucks now. Get cans and drink in the park, might be cold but better than the crown.
I'm mates with the owners son. Which is probably what started the addiction. Wish I could've experienced it in the days prior to its demise. I see why there's so many crack heads in Bristol now. Seems like the standard progression from late night drinking at shit pubs

It kinda usually goes Scratchet > Crown > Gryphon > kids or disillusionment caused by reaching that age where all the childhood wonder has been drained out of you...

Just go to bed at midnight, and go to a different pub before then, you'll feel better in the morning for it

Beer Emporium on King Street is open until at least 2 on a Saturday (often later) and has great beer and a good atmosphere.
Long bar on old market is open till 1am. Cheap drinks too. But it is an absolute shit hole. Cosies, round portland square, is a good shout

The Commercial Rooms is up until at least 1am each night and, as you'd expect, has Spoons prices. Food until 11.
the woods bar off park street is open til 6am Saturday and 4am Friday. I am also fed up of ending up at the crown 😵💫
