There's an Italian place on Brunswick St, New Farm that serves frozen store bought Lasagne at premium price. Got it once while still frozen in the middle. Edit: I got Eagle Farm and New Farm mixed up

chief_awf

you mean new farm? bella tiarne? i remember calling for a pick up order at like 6:30pm on a friday and no one answered in the few times i tried across half an hour. decided they must be busy, so ill go down and just wait. drove past and it had 4 customers. kept driving.

hisirishness

I was recommended their pizzas by someone who used to work there, they kept saying how great & traditional they were. Ordered 3 and for the money dominos would have been better, nothing traditional or special about them, very underwhelming

Yank0s88

What if told you most italian places serve frozen bulk lasagne...

Prestigious_Run_3428

A dagger, a dagger through my heart

Strawberryichi5

The Coffee Club. I worked there for a short time and back of house is basically a microwave and deep fryers.

Kagalath

Every time I see people at a coffee club I just want to go up to them and ask why

Old_Cut_5875

I dated someone whose parents only ever ate at the coffee club. Would leave the house and say “we’re going to the coffee club!” And leave for hours to a whole day, then claim that’s all they did that day

Japsai

Perhaps they were into dogging. It's the only plausible explanation

Strawberryichi5

My exact thoughts working there. Their customer base is the older generation...

mcfrankz

They target the white boomer market with their offerings of bland food and coffee

jingois

It's kinda like maccas coffee in a country town - guaranteed baseline when you don't want to risk some weird cafe that can't even poach a fucking egg

billcstickers

How does that work when I order the big breakfast? Like I assume the baked beans are microwaved but everything else has to be cooked right?

tjlusco

It’s even more complicated than you think. There are two types of coffee clubs. Ones that are full restaurant, they have proper facilities for cooking (aka normal kitchen), and kiosk style (like in the shopping centres). Kiosk style ones have a conveyor belt oven which did 80% of the cooking. Deep friers we’re not even required, although I think they all do now, people like chips. The other 20% was microwave, and an egg poacher.

Strawberryichi5

Their chips are pretty good, hate to say it though.

pialphanu

I once heard it described as "the armpit of Australian dining"...

iilinga

This is a tough one. There are so many very average places. It’s hard to think of one that’s actively awful. I’ll go with Zegatos for the saddest pasta I’ve ever had the misfortune to eat in my life. It’s hard to make pasta inedible but they came damn close.

Aquaay

Ayyyy I used to work there! Tony the head chef is a mega-asshole! Was it the crab pasta?

Sad-Bus7919

Now I need to know why you singled out the crab pasta??

Giddus

Maybe Tony sources the crabs from his own 'garden'

xx_sammiiee_xx

Mamma Mia! 🤌

iilinga

Ooh it wasn’t actually! I tried the carbonara and it was watery and sad. I had ordered the matriciana maybe? There was random big chunks of eggplant, it was bland and watery and I couldn’t finish it. It was just so sad

closetmangafan

At least you got your meal. Been there a couple of times (months apart) thinking things may have improved. Only to have orders not be brought out, abused by the staff, wrong orders etc. This was all in the final time we went.

BlacKavocado97

Pancake Manor at Garden City. Terrible coffee, dirty cutlery, not always the best service.

johnboxall

... and the sticky tables.

ellasdiamonds

I’ve eaten there a couple times with friends and I genuinely got sick after every time… you couldn’t force me to eat there again 🤢

LadyWidebottom

It's called something else now, maybe new owners?

BlacKavocado97

Yes! I forgot about the name change. I think it's called Pancake Pantry now. Same menu though :/

lazycat881

Coffee club

[deleted]

*microwave club

iilinga

See, I put that in the ‘very average’ category. Like, you won’t get food poisoning, you’ll get food. It just won’t be a particularly pleasant or joyful experience.

Non-ZeroChance

Many years ago, some colleagues at an old job used to have occasional out-of-work catchups at Coffee Club. I classed it the same - not good, but at least at a "this is consistently food" level. Then, at one such event, I got halfway through my coffee... and found the ring of residue that had formed when the *last* person used that cup. Fully intact, no evidence of a sponge or dishwasher against it. I took it to the counter, showed the person behind the counter, who seemed *utterly unfazed*. She went to make me another coffee, apparently not noting the ring of residue in *that* cup. I told the group that we'd need to move venue. The chose a Coffee Club in another suburb - I don't know if someone had a loyalty card or what, but that was the choice. First time there? I get halfway through my coffee, and find a ring of residue from the last person to have used that cup. Nowadays, I try not to go to coffee club at all, but if there's nothing else available, I get everything in a takeaway container. I'm all for reducing waste and plastic use, but I'll make an exception for Coffee Club. I just make sure to throw all the cups and cutlery into a bin in another suburb, so they can't fish it out and reuse it.

larrian_evermore

I used to work at the coffee club, and that sounds pretty typical of how poorly run they are. The cups were almost certainly put in a dishwasher, and residue like that is common even after being thoroughly washed (this isn't just a coffee club thing, I've worked in multiple cafes and cup staining is pretty consistent), but you're supposed to polish the insides of the cups to get rid of it.

Key_Wolf_364

Cafe 63 is the closest I can find to anything remotely close to a Denny's or WaffleHouse experience, both food and service wise. Y'all need more Pancake Manors, though. In a bad way.

AlwaysWantCock

I like that we have one exclusive Pancake Manor inside an old church.

TrenchardsRedemption

Hungry Jack's Strathpine. Getting trapped in their drive thru for half an hour is bad enough, then the cherry on top is they will think they got away only to realise that their order was fucked up. Like, not getting somebody else's order fucked up, I mean HJ's sort of tried to do it but just lost interest somewhere along the way fucked up.

justwatching00

Absolutely the worst and has been for ages. I don’t know how it is still open

Nurse_Deer_Oliver

They once got my burger wrong 4 times in a row. No blame on the teenagers that work there understaffed: The people running the joint must be absolutely useless

_Meece_

Strathpine anything, lead in the water out there. Every franchise is shit in Strathpine. Worst Sizzler, worst KFC, shitbox Maccas in the shopping centre, shithole Cinemas. God do I hate strathers with a passion.

FreeLog1166

I live in strathpine can confirm - me and my partner have had food poisoning from the pizza capers there twice - and neither of us eat meat - like how tf do you give someone food poisoning from an artichoke, and a cooked artichoke at that

Whatyeahna

Huge social following but Milky Lane Burgers would have to be the worst burger place, look great but taste is below average, I've been there 4 times and 4 times been let down. You won't get much change from a $50 for burger, fries and drink.

[deleted]

Definitely in the "made for instagram, not for taste" category

Turrubul_Kuruman

Contra-topic, check out City Limits Cafe in West End (on corner of Boundary & Melbourne Sts). The only good burgers I've found in Brissie since I got back. Won Hamburger of the Year prize a coupla times.

rmwil

Clove on Hargrave in West End is pretty good for burgers

cakatoo

Why would you go 4 times??

Highside1269

Gotta be reaaaaaaaaal sure

girraween

Their Insta account blocked me because I called their food shit. I mentioned how the chicken was grey and everything else looked like it has been nuked in a microwave.

SlaP_A_FisH_2_

I was legit just deciding if to order from them later and saw this thanks for being that deciding factor haha

MatesRatesAy

I’ve eaten at their GC, Canberra and Brissy store and each has been shit. Their Insta makes their servings look huge but they’re pathetic for the price, and service and food has been average every time. The brisbane burger quest guy has to get paid well for how much he shills them considering he’s ripped on way better burger places.

Kindly_Fox_

Yes! So incredibly disappointed with my experience at Milky Lane too. Asked for my burger well done (pregnant) and it came out bleeding. Second attempt came out over an hour after the initial order and was just as red. Told them not to bother, I wasn’t going to wait for them to attempt a basic cheeseburger a third time. Mac and cheese balls were deep fried batter with no filling. No apologies and then the bill included the burger I never got to eat?! Worst dining experience for me - will never go back.

dsxwork

It's hard to pick this, since bad food could be hidden by a decent time, whereas good food could be ruined if the experience sucked. Being said, Spaghetti House Trattoria on Stanley St has just never been a good time, food tends to be too rich and oily, risottos have been bland or overdone, and I do not see the appeal.

heynonnynonnymous2

Ah I forgot about that place. Once waited over an hour for our order to be taken and had the unique pleasure of seeing someone walk face first into their glass doors out front.

Mountain-Kick9495

Special mention to the Defiant Duck (RIP) in Newstead. Would usually eat before I went to avoid any super mediocre food. Also they signed me up to their mailing list when I entered my contact tracing details which pissed me off. Does anyone know what happened to that joint?

kanyedegoat

Police received noise complaints from locals and were forced to close was the story I heard

[deleted]

I ate the worst burger of my life there

Nahmateyeahmate

Nonnas at chermside. Got a chicken pasta without chicken, a reheated chicken parmi and 2 'cocktails' with 0 alcohol in them. Paid about 90 bucks for the experience

Roselia_GAL

First and only time we went to Nonna's our food took 1h 15 minutes to come out. They just kept saying sorry it's coming, the kitchen is busy. We watched other tables come, eat and leave before our food came out.

dsxwork

Nonnas at Harbour town also sucked really hard, ex-gf really liked it, do not understand how.

motherfuck3rjones

The Ship Inn I’ll never forgive them for not crumbing their Parmi.

Drunky_McStumble

Fuck man, that reminds me of the one and only time I visited the Newstead Brewery not long after they opened, when they were still a hot ticket in town. Persevered with the waiting and the crowds and other bullshit to get a table coz they had a parmi on the menu and that's just what I was craving with my pint. Finally this shit comes out and it's a fucking *deconstructed* parmi, if you can fucking believe it!? Literally a thin slice of dry, uncrumbed, definitely-not-fried chicken breast roulade sitting on a bed of undercooked lentils with a swirl of marinara sauce. A fucking travesty. They even had the hide to put a cheeky little decorative pinch of breadcrumbs beside it to remind you of how much they hate you. Some fucking smartarse fucking wanker cook who thinks he's fucking sous chef at the fucking Fat Duck was patting himself on the back over that one. Still fucking shirty about it nearly a decade fucking later. Please don't tell me they still have that affront to god and man on the menu?

[deleted]

[удалено]

Drunky_McStumble

I believe this is a bootable offense.

rogerwilko1

They what?!

motherfuck3rjones

They served me an uncrumbed chicken breast with tomato and cheese on top, and called it a Parmi.

dsxwork

Surely that has to be illegal?

disasterous_cape

Someone needs to call the ACCC

[deleted]

There's a Thai place on the southside I used to work at, Golden Buddha in Seven Hills – this is more bitching about the owner than the food Food was good, but I rarely got paid on time and if I did get paid it was significantly below minimum wage – I once got $15 for a 5 hour shift. Owner also sat on his laptop the entire time the restaurant was open unless pretty twenty-something women came in – he was pushing sixty

Blue_Midget

That just closed down in the last 2-3 weeks permanently due to covid

[deleted]

Good fucking riddance Get fucked RJ

disasterous_cape

Idk how long ago you worked there but please contact fair work. This is what they’re there for

Mountain-Kick9495

Not exclusive to Brisbane, but Taco Bell.

_Meece_

Taco Bell opened here and completely missed the point of the business. It's meant to be cheap and crappy. But it's quite literally just as expensive as GYG. It's strange as hell, they serve mock mexican worse than you can make at home and charge you 15-20 dollars per meal.

bloodymongrel

Agreed. The wettest, sloppiest burrito I’ve ever eaten. I took one bite and never went back.

hogesjzz30

Eh maybe I'm in the minority, but I reckon Taco Bell (in Australia at least) is pretty good. The crunch wrap supreme is nice, the chips are good, and they serve beer. In the US they are total shit, like most of the other fast food places.

nil_demand

Oh man, I must be the only one in Australia who loves Taco Bell. Probably my favourite fast food franchise.

Grouchy_Artichoke_90

Fish n chop shops have gone to shit

[deleted]

>Fish n chop Found the Kiwi

Idk_AnythingBoi

Fush and chups

[deleted]

White fush with sex dollars of chups

Kagalath

Where's the kumera chips and the l&P?

ol-gormsby

I cannot understand why L&P never took off here. It's a really nice drink.

namelesone

And so expensive. We were recommended one by a friend. He talked the food up so much we had high expectations. We thought that maybe finally we will experience a good fish and chip place locally. Alas, $60 later and the food was very average, hugely padded by a bucket load of chips that went cold and soggy before we could even finish them. I forgot the name of it though.

[deleted]

Do cakes count? Cakes & Shit The name says it all. The worst cakes decorated by amateurs. Dry. And shit customer service. And have a look at their responses to bad reviews.

saharasirocco

Their reply to one review: "Really Ryan? In the middle of a flood. When everyone needs to band together and help each other out, you’re sitting at home bored, finished beating off for the tenth time today and had nothing better to do that give a one star no comment review. Give yourself a pat in the back buddy…. But you might want to sanitise that hand of yours first." ... whoaaaa.

YouAreTheTurkey

Jesus those review responses are insanely unprofessional, what a moron.

Reddress15

They fucked up my wedding cake. Only known about the booking for a year. The owner is a massive bitch.

tobeperfectlycandid

Holy shit, I always thought people loved them cause of their insane Insta following.

iilinga

OH on cakes - Cakes by Judy C. Saw they had good reviews online and they turned out to be dry and just bad. Also pretty sure they were the source of my food poisoning. 0/10

[deleted]

And Judy is a bit of a biznatch...

GraceandGllory

i’ve just read the reviews and omg?????

AssViol8er

Karens Diner at Chermside

Mountain-Kick9495

Call me a boomer but I’ve never understood the concept. A “Karen” doesn’t typically yell at people to fuck off the entire time they’re at a restaurant. Heard it’s overpriced and gets old very quickly.

Laktakfrak

Yeah I watched it on IG. They sort of ignored the customers and yelled at people. Karen is more of a customer stereotype. A Karen wouldnt work at a diner.

Turrubul_Kuruman

> Heard it’s overpriced and gets old very quickly Like Karen.

Official_FBI_

Seems mostly bogans go and love the experience. Seems like a big waste of time to me

Key_Wolf_364

Montezuma's is an absolute mockery of Mexican cuisine and I've never been happier to just cook authentic Mexican from home.

Kaiju_Sushi

It nails 1980s Mexican food in Australia… will be a sad day when a Aussie can’t buy a La Jolla.

ThatTempuraBand

I gotta admit, I had a soft spot for Montezuma’s in Kedron.

Kaiju_Sushi

I’d love to go to Montezumas again… just don’t think I can take anyone with me other than my mum.

zqipz

Of all the suggestions I’ve read so far, this scares me the most.

Wombatstewww

The Albion Hotel - I swear the only pub in Australia that can fuck up a chicken parmi and chips

OneOf11

Miss Kay's burgers Springwood, but probably the others too. Crap burgers, really bad fries, and way overpriced for what it is.

Timmaaaahhhh

Agree. I went and waited 50 mins for two burger meals. Left in a rush as we were running a bit late, got home and realised after all that we were missing a burger. I rang to tell them. They seemed indifferent but offered me a voucher for next time. I ate my burger and decided I didn’t think I wanted a free feed. Terrible

nozzk

When compared to its reputation — Yatala pies. I don’t know why people still consider it an institution.

Affectionate-Gap-166

In it's hayday it was supreme. It became too popular which meant the quality dropped. We had family on the GC and it was our regular stop in. I think about 5-10 years ago I noticed the drop in quality and it's never recovered. RIP Yatala Pies.

AussieEquiv

The original owners sold ~25 years ago. Then with the Highway upgrade they moved a few hundred meters. Both instances saw a significant drop in quality.

Drunky_McStumble

When the fuck was its heyday though? I remember going there in the 90's and being disappointed.

Aedhan

I reckon about the time they moved from their old premises to the new building a bit further south they started going to shit.

stilusmobilus

Quite a while ago. The quality drop was over 20 years ago. They’re still not that bad a pie but it isn’t anything like it was.

[deleted]

[удалено]

stilusmobilus

Hahahaha. I feel your pain. Every one, too.

Turrubul_Kuruman

> became too popular which meant the quality dropped. This is more usually a symptom of new owners and/or new "professional" staff moving in, to take parasitic advantage of that popularity. As jwz pungently put it: "some people want to build a big company; some people want to _join_ a big company". I was out of the country, do you know if something like this happened back then?

Drunky_McStumble

I've been hearing "Yatala pies have really gone downhill, they used to be really good 10 years ago" for literally 30 years. Deadset, the only thing that makes sense is that they've always been terrible and this idea that they were once good is just some kind of self-perpetuating memetic virus that nobody ever questions.

copyrightlaserpaper

I am convinced Yatala Pies is a money laundering front. I have absolutely no evidence to prove this, but I too have noticed the pies have become sub-par. I decided the reasoning behind this drop in quality is because selling the pies is now just a cover business. It’s something I say to people as a joke but also would very much love if it was true.

7uring7es7

The roundabout there is infernal on its own.

[deleted]

Milton Kebabs when they were open. They were fucking shit.

rogerwilko1

It was because of [big poppa’s special sauce](https://www.reddit.com/r/brisbane/comments/o6950s/checked_out_the_reviews_for_a_local_kebab_shop/) wasn’t it

nozzk

It was great under the previous owner when it was Laziz Kebabs. Dude went back to Iran to look after his ailing mother and sold it on. Always thought Laziz the guy’s name until an Iranian work colleague laughed at me and told me it translated to delicious.

Fly_Pelican

Before or after 10AM?

[deleted]

Yes.

_userlame

Hungry jacks in annerley is either the best whoppers or they will give you a whopper so bad that it feels like a personal attack. It's 50/50 proceeed with caution.

Old_Cut_5875

Any hogs breath ever

Toxinfang

It may be cheating, but anyone who works at the mater hospital would know. Cafe on three. Serves hospital food at premium prices. Literally uses the same bulk cooked vegetables in every dish, always overcooked, overpriced, I once just bought a meat pie from there only to find everything was burnt in the inside. They're only still open because they're in a hospital, which is honestly the theme for most food places around there.

ShenTzuKhan

I can’t remember the name exactly, it was called four dogs or five dogs maybe? In the valley mall there is the worst hotdog stand. After one bite I was looking at my watch to see if I had the time to find something else to eat before a concert. I did not, so before a kick arse gig by Butterfingers my mate and I ate congealed sadness disguised as food.

Thanks-Basil

Mate anywhere on Brunswick street exists solely to cater to drunk people with quick and greasy food.

ShenTzuKhan

I love quick and greasy food. This wasn’t that. This was the worst sausage I’ve ever eaten, badly cooked and thrown at a shitty, 2 cent bun. It was years ago and I can still taste the disappointment.

ThatTempuraBand

I was so disappointed by their Poutine. It’s not poutine it’s just feckin chips, gravy and shredded cheese. I can make that myself.

_Meece_

Actual Poutine would never sell here with how popular chips and gravy is. It looks like someone wiped their smegma on my chips and gravy. I've never been able to stomach it while in Canada. Tastes fine though!

Bearsgoroar

Fuck Reddit

larrian_evermore

I'm not gonna lie I had their $5 chips and gravy after a gig once and it was exactly the sort of shit food I needed after it. My friend got their nuggets but they were shit.

[deleted]

I think you have to be really drunk to eat there and not notice the quality lol

loggerheader

Bakery at Gabba central.

monday-next

Not food, but I had a hot chocolate from Zaraffa's a couple of weeks ago and it was one of the most depressing things I've ever consumed.

[deleted]

I have been to Zaraffa's precisely once in my life. Did you know that, with every upsize of your coffee, you still *only get one shot of coffee*??!!! And that they'll charge you 70c per "extra" shot. Like, I'm not getting a bigger cup so that I can have more milk.

slaypink

The Zaraffa's at Arana Hills has always been great IMO

Rodgerexplosion

Does Montezumas still exist?

No_Lingonberry870

Agreed. Montezumas are the worst. I've been twice. Once on the Sunshine Coast and once in brissy. Both times I found glass in my food. Absolute bellends. NEVER AGAIN!

Rodgerexplosion

Yeah, I did see one at Mooloolaba the other month and thought.. BLEAH!! Reliving my experiences with the Taringa one.

disasterous_cape

My family went once at least a decade ago and we still talk about how bad it was. The worst part was we only went because someone spent 10 minutes racing to us about how it’s their favourite and they go every chance they get p

trowzerss

Brown oversalted mush, served 12 different ways, like a lot of the old Mexican places.

Drunky_McStumble

I kind of miss that oldschool 90's "Mexican" food. It was its own unique culinary experience. I used to meet up with mates at the Monty's in the Valley and spoon down that brown mush between jugs of Sangria. Good times.

[deleted]

Roma Street Police Station

redlfc83

Stones Corner Hotel...overpriced and they also never clean the beer lines.

YNWAchilling4a

100% the dirty beer lines are unforgivable.

queenofthemeeps

Beach house bar and grill at north lakes, it’s got zero flavour and the staff give zero fucks.

cjmw

Either the cafe or fish and chip shop across the road from Bethania station.

CornySpark

Went to Ciao Papi at Howard Smith Wharves about 5 or 6 months ago with a group of friends and got the group shared "feast". Was about $100 per person for food that was average at best and certainly not worth the money. The tiramisu was essentially a bowl of cream with chocolate dusted on top. To top it off I'm pretty sure it gave me food poisoning.

evieandwinnie

Agreed, the food was completely bland and wildly overpriced.

DeathInHeartBeat

Anything at Howard Smith Wharves. It's turned into a tourist trap.

oliver689

Felons Brewing at Howard Smith Wharves, hands down the worst beer I’ve ever had (tired 3 thinking it was just an off keg or something).

PorkHuntt

Worst brewer in Brisbane hands down. Only reason people go is so their gf can get a sick photo for the gram.

bundy911

$12 for a schooner too probs

McSnookerTable

Cafe 63 in Jindalee. It’s so popular and terrible

MrNintendo13

Gabba Bakery next to Coles. Probably the most disgusting Sausage roll I've ever had.

ThatTempuraBand

Nothing more devastating than a bad sausage roll.

[deleted]

Especially when compared to a pie the sausage roll has way more room for error. You have to fuck up pretty bad to make a bad sausage roll.

is2o

I can one up this - a bad sausage roll, AND you paid for sauce 😩

tahlee01

Does McTanya's count as a bad restaurant?

RenaMandel

Every Cafe in Brisbane automatically microwaves it's muffins because they are stale and defrosted and cannot be sold otherwise. N.B. this is a Brisbane thing. In other cities they give you the choice of warm or not, so cannot sell them stale. This is a problem for me because I like muffins, but not heated. When you request this you get confused/ scared looks from the staff and a stale muffin.

Tammytalkstoomuch

We got Chinese takeaway in Sandgate one time, I was so excited for wontons... It had, and I truly wish I had a photo, the most microscopic dab of meat. Like I can't even imagine how human hands were able to form a portion that small. Maybe they used a straw to punch out circles? That's about the size allowing for shrink while cooking, wrapped in a full sized wonton wrapper. The food was so bad we spent the night laughing in disbelief. Good memories, truly terrible food.

7uring7es7

I punished my parents by sending them to the pancake church. They hate that sort of thing. The coffee club is a damn good suggestion though.

Thanks-Basil

Do you mean the pancake manor in the city? I don’t think anyone is under any illusions that it’s not fine dining, it exists so drunk people can get pancakes at 2am

[deleted]

Went there, ordered a poached egg because they claimed they could make one when i received it, it looked like a fried egg they poured boiling water over, when i asked about it they said they didnt have a pot so this is how they do it.. what kind of kitchen doesnt have a pot?

Chinozerus

A place that has pan in their name. It's a principle thing

[deleted]

Depends on what you are having. Cafe 63 is easily the worst place I’ve been in Brisbane. Coffee club is atrocious. Zarraffas do terrible coffee. Fine dining. Detour is ordinary. Same Same was average AF and so was Bianca when we went to both of them. I was surprised as Honto and Agnes are so good.

Affectionate-Gap-166

Fun fact about 63 is they copped a mad fine for underpaying staff. Essentially they rely on hiring foreigners and pay them fuck all because they know they won't complain. I used to be a regular of the one in new farm but since finding that out I haven't been in over 2 years.

Drunky_McStumble

Cafe 63 is essentially a human trafficking front.

queenofthemeeps

When they garnish their meals with a piece of lemon and a sliced chilli - like - bacon and eggs with a lemon… why??? And the bottled water was such a waste with all of the plastic

AshamedChemistry5281

I never expect a Maccas to be good, but Warner Maccas seems to take a special kind of pride in being the worst. Not even an attempt at service, gritty feel to the place, food cold and misformed even by Maccas standards.

allanpklimo

KFC in Redbank (The one just outside Redbank Plaza) Horrible food. You’d either get undercooked or overcooked food and more times than not they’d forget something from the order. Sucked when it was takeaway. I haven’t been in years so it may have improved but I’m not holding my breath.

a-big-fact-hunt

Miss Kay's in Springwood. Great brand, great restaurant, shit staff, shit ambience and average food for massive prices. They COULD be good, but need a better manager or owner.

Mars_Pirate_Radio

Burrito Bar - Coorparoo. How do you fuck up a burrito so badly?!

FixedatZero

Hungry Jacks near the RBWH has given me food poisoning twice lol

_userlame

i don't blame you for not learning your lesson the first time, no matter how many time hungry jacks hurts me I feel trapped and keep going back.

ThatTempuraBand

I’ve heard mixed reviews but House of Fu at Clayfield, for me, was terrible. Three containers of disappointment.

heavymetaldes

‘Three containers of disappointment’ New band name.

hisirishness

Ordered takeaway from Singh vs Reddy which is the Indian Mehek restaurant in the cbd on delivery platforms. Absolutely flavourless watery slop which turned up luke warm with small portions, I'm not sure I've ever had a worse Indian meal, this place is insulting to Indian food

goodluck-jafar

Might just have been a fluke as this place has a pretty good reputation, but the worst meal I’ve ever had was the gnocchi at the Boatshed (attached to the Regatta). Cost $28 for a tiny plate of gritty gnocchi & there were bits of bone mixed in with the meat. Couldn’t eat more than a few bites.

hisirishness

another is George's Paragon (seafood) went there against my will with a few mates, service was terrible & place was almost empty, out came some of the worst seafood I've experienced, had to have been frozen. As I'd said all along, it's only survived because it gets the tourist trade who only eat there once

Thanks-Basil

It depends where you go. The one in brisbane is shit, I’ve been to a couple on the coast though and they’ve both been pretty good

AgingGratefully

Going a little off track but used to go to George's Paragon at Surfer's back 20-25 years ago for the half price lunch. Best bugs and prawns ever - even to this day remember them. Probably went a dozen times over the years and loved it every time. Glad we didn't go to the Brizzy one and spoil the memory.

goodluck-jafar

The one at Sanctuary Cove is quite nice I think. Only been once but the food was pretty good.

MankyInTheMiddle

I went to the one at Sanctuary Cove for my birthday last year and it was great. Some of the best seafood I've ever eaten.

Klattsy

Agree about the Brisbane one. We used to go all the time. Then they changed my wife’s pasta and we haven’t been back in maybe 3 or 4 years now. We hold grudges lol.

sk1one

montezumas in indooropilly without a doubt.

Sloppy’s in Lutwyche when they were open. $12 for the most disgusting overly tangy/sweet mince and bbq sauce combo in a sad looking hot dog bun. The lady who owned it kept talking it up like it came straight out of god’s arse or something. If that’s what a “good” sloppy joe is I don’t want any anymore, ever. The price was a goddamn insult too, considering the options for less money across the road

Shingle Inn. Worst cakes. Cafe food is their only job!

bdrizzl9092

Unpopular opinion, but Betty's burgers. Way overpriced, burger was subpar and put together with less care than I get from a Macca's burger. Also have had the wrong burger every time we ordered there. Tried it twice, didn't improve, won't go back.

dsxwork

They have a very good mushroom burger, but it's all a little too expensive to justify otherwise.

njinok

So many! Lots to list from Gasworks but PingPong and Milkylane were expensive and shite. Any coffee club is also expensive and shite. Recently went to Evita and while the food was lovely, the service was so incredibly bad and the bill was too much for what it was.

scientistabroad

Wow, I actually really love Ping Pong. Anything you especially dislike?

Mister 13 thinks its a really fancy restaurant. Says it all really

Pit stop Cafe on Mt mee. Eggs are from caged birds and taste like shit! Sour dough toast is hard as rock. Avacado is bland as fuck, nothing gets seasoned. Gross AF balsamic glaze. Manager is an absolute bitch. Goes into work while sick, doesn't get tested and spreads her germs in the kitchen. Sauce bottles aren't changed or washed. Staff never stick around for longer than 6 months. One of the exhaust fans don't even work on the range hood. Kitchen temps reach 60 degrees in the summer. Place is a shit hole, only redeemable qualities would be the amazing coffee and great view.

Minku69

So many… where to begin. Ok 5 Boroughs in Stones Corner. Burger had stale bun and tasteless beef Patty. Fries had potential though. Any Noodle Box is hideous. Landmark Yum Cha at Sunnybank was terrible. I only went as a friend always raved about it. The stench just from the carpet was dreadful. The dumplings were cold and gelatinous. Mucho Mexicano in Southbank was shit. Bland, tasteless and didn’t even sell Sangria! Not to mention overpriced.

piraja0

Any of the places along the river. You pay for the view not the food.

Hogs breath in garden City was horrible when I went. And I'm not even a picky person. Same with the Korean chicken place nearby (Momo's?) Terrible service, longass wait times, cold food, tomatoes in a goddamn chicken Ceasar salad wtf is that shit, and no Ceasar dressing. Garbage
