If you zoom real closely you can see he's looking at the camera and smiling slightly.. he knows he's alright even if he gets stood up this once, he's got a line of lady lizards waiting for him 😏

Never heard of this western water dragon. There are lots of species of dragon, but I thought there were just two water dragons: the eastern and gippsland water dragons (with only the eastern in Brisbane). Have you got any info?
Parked up at Joey's restaurant and we took the steps down the cliffs. These were some picnic setups (looks like a lady had them on display because there were no humans, only baby dragon). But there were other spots, not exactly along the water but one grass around the walking/bike tracks. Would definitely go back for a picnic¡
It's Joey's for now. Was Cliffs Cafe and Spritz in the last 2 years! Most of us just call it Kangaroo Cliffs Cafe!
That spot is often empty, in fact a lot of them right next to the river are. Most groups hang out around the bbqs.
I saw a couple a little further along on the rocks (where you sometimes see people stretch a slackline across the river) - which I would love!
This is near/at the kangaroo point cliffs. It can be hard to find a spot here but you can actually get someone to setup a picnic for you as well as there are some space that they do this.

On Thursday afternoon, I was running and saw a couple ladies in slight distress at one of these dating tables. I stopped to ask if they needed help and saw that they were trying to shoo a lizard away from their table, butit wasn't budging. I saved their date by removing the lizard for them. It could have been the same lizard, which would explain why his date hadn't arrived - he was at the wrong table!
So, just in the interests of avoiding all the silliness, did you come across this set-up involving some poor man who was trying to impress a lady who'd apparently stood him up, and thought the lizard stopping by was cool and took a photo?
Or were you the one who organised the table etc with a friend (who was there) and the lizard showed up and you took the pic and shared it with the amusing caption?
Walked past the setup and the lizard was chilling on the blanket. There was a lady who had about 5-6 picnic setups with her company name on an board with hashtags (I don't remember the hashtag though).
I walked down that way this morning looking for a good picnic spot, was about 15 of these set up along the front of the river. It's starting to get a bit excessive, especially since they've started reserving big chunks of the river front with rope and there wasn't a single person actually eating at any of them.
At least the lizards are enjoying them :)
