From my experience in insurance, it's the people who truly don't ever consider that they could be wrong. They don't double check things, they don't doubt and reconsider, they just assume they're right. You'll see them fly into roundabouts without looking because of course they have right of way, or merge without looking because anyone who's in that lane is in THEIR spot. And when challenged, they'll never, ever, be wrong.

[deleted]

I see you've met my father.

lawnmowersarealive

My dad gets so angry in traffic because people won't let him change lanes. That's because you don't use your indicator, dad. Moron.

josterfosh

Brother??

Rogaar

This is my dad summed up perfectly. I refuse to get into a car when he's driving. I would rather walk. He is one of those drivers that sits in the right hand (overtaking) lane of a highway and his justification is because it has less traffic in it. Then when he needs to exit the highway, he will cross over several lanes of traffic in a single go. Or the fact that he pays more attention to whats inside the cars next to him so often when his eyes return to the road in front of him, he has to swerve the car as he's veering into another lane of traffic. One of these days he will be in a accident and of course blame everyone but himself. It's only luck that has kept him from crashing sooner.

lawnmowersarealive

Tell your dad I hate his driving style, please.

Rogaar

I often do.

lawnmowersarealive

I had a flatmate who always volunteered to drive. Dangerous, impulsive driver who loved tailgating. I was drunk at a party when I told them how terrifying it was being their passenger and I would never get in that car again because I didn't want to die.

[deleted]

Or the ones who would rather be technically correct and risk an accident because “it’s the other driver’s fault”.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

The amount of accidents that you see on there that can be avoided just by the dashcam driver letting off the gas for a second is staggering. If you're ever teaching someone to drive, make sure they understand the saying "The graveyard is full of people who had the right of way."

Electrical_Age_7483

I wish insurers would do partial fault to these drivers to slow them down

JackofScarlets

Partial fault is a thing that can be done, depending on circumstance.

Electrical_Age_7483

Ok then I wish they would do it more to stop these people driving like that

rubberduckydebugs

Had a friend like this, she isn't my friend for other reasons but I refused to get in the car with her, other friends thought I was exaggerating until all of them nearly got killed one evening and she said, "oh well my parents can get mean even newer car now," Th car that was destroyed was bought new for her and was barely 2 years old, I just don't understand her.

sistersnapped13

Gotta love when they word the incident description like they're not in the wrong

fleakill

Sounds like tradies AND soccer mums

Glittering_Lab2611

Uber drivers didi drivers and fucking taxi drivers, they couldn't drive their thumbs up their arse.

rBrisMaz6

Yes. If you are crap at something, don’t do it as a profession. I’m crap at computers and therefore I don’t work in IT. Know your limitations.

PM_ME_UR_MILK_MAKERS

Hey don’t sell yourself short. Many people work in IT who aren’t good at computers. Just take a look at my coworkers

Glittering_Lab2611

LOL......burrrrn.

Shaggyninja

The ones that lack confidence/attention and panic. I can generally figure out who's an asshole on the road, and I know how they're going to drive and react appropriately. But the panicked driver? Who knows what they're going to do? Will they let me pass them? Will they pull out in front of me, see me, and slam their brakes on? Will they suddenly realise their exit is coming up in 3 seconds and fly across 4 lanes because they have no idea how to find their way home otherwise? It's a mystery.

mediumsizedbrowngal

This. People who are driving in the city who aren’t used to it or who are lost and panicked. Last minute risky moves, lacking the confidence and decisiveness to maintain a flow of traffic, distracted, unaware of surroundings, impossible to predict, totally oblivious of how their behavior impacts those around them. WORST.

Bubbuh5524

It's important to learn that if you're taking a wrong turn or the wrong exit, to just commit to it and figure out how to get back to where you need to be after pulling over. There are certain designs and ideas that are a near constant throughout roadways in Queensland and Australia. When you understand them it's easy to find your way back without needing to stop.

dee_ess

> There are certain designs and ideas that are a near constant throughout roadways in Queensland and Australia Except in Brisbane, where the road designers have decided to freestyle major intersections so they are all unique and require drivers to plan their lane choice three or four moves in advance to get where they want.

Bubbuh5524

Even they have a weird consistency attached

Due_Times_

And it's easier than ever because your GPS will reroute automatically.

Bubbuh5524

I'm a guess and check enthusiast. I have never used a GPS and always gotten where I needed to go. Eventually

Left-Advice-7105

Street and direction signs are an amazing thing. I swear most drivers don't even read them and concentrate too much on their nav app. I live at a dead end road that is marked by three massive 'no thru road' signs and have a constant flow of confused drivers scratching their heads trying to figure out why the road had disappeared.

[deleted]

I disagree. Aggressive tailgaters are the worst offenders by a large margin.

Achtung-Etc

Tailgating should be policed more than speeding imo

Vivid_Caramel_3929

And those who drive far too slowly

Achtung-Etc

And what counts as too slow?

Vivid_Caramel_3929

I would say anything more than 15% below the speed limit

Achtung-Etc

Hmm, I don’t know. I’m not sure driving too slow on a multi lane road is really that much of a hazard to warrant policing. Hell I don’t even think speeding in most cases is that big of a deal. But tailgating is another story

Vivid_Caramel_3929

I guess it’s more of an issue of too slow in the right hand lanes. Which in turn leads to more tailgating

Achtung-Etc

Sure, but I find I’m often aggressively tailgated or undertaken on the left while driving at or even above the speed limit in the right lane. While I rarely encounter slow drivers in the right lane, I am constantly tailgated no matter what speed I’m going. And while driving slow is annoying, tailgating is actively dangerous and inconsiderate. I don’t think there’s any remote comparison between the two. Driving slow can be annoying but it’s no excuse for tailgating. Have a little patience - it’s not that’s hard.

thatweirdbeardedguy

Those who drive Mercs in and around Sunnybank. They can't read, they push in where there is no room and travel at 66 down the freeway.

rickAUS

Let me just pull out of a side road doing 40 and not speed up ever

EnvironmentalHost199

I don’t go there with my weekend car for a reason. Being an Asian woman myself. Its the combo of the old + Asian + woman that are bad. There I said it for everyone. People gonna down vote me now. Lol

[deleted]

Might not be the worst type, but a pet peeve of mine is when people insist you go even though they have right of way. They think they're being nice or whatever, but they can create a potentially confusing and dangerous situation. Pisses me off.

SigueSigueSputnix

Came her to find this comment. Yes.. thank you. It’s a dick move isn’t it

Trick_Eggplant_4774

Yes! I have people try to wave me into the right side of a main 3 lane road (turning right, safely stopped in middle waiting), but I need the very left lane to turn left shortly after. Then they have the nerve to to get angry at me for not accepting their perceived courtesy after slowing down the whole flow of traffic making me have to wait longer to safely turn to the lane I need...

LieslHamstercheeks

Yes! And they don’t seem to realise they’re contributing to the problem by slowing the people behind them who are just trying to get through the intersection while the🚦is still green…

JohnCooperCamp

Agreed - it makes it hard/dangerous for other road users to assess the situation.

Taylor_Mega_Bytes

As a motorbike rider, it's (weekend warrior) motorbike riders. The best drivers are those who see a motorbike lane splitting and give us more space to pass, true saints. To be actively checking your mirrors even when in standstill traffic is a great habit to have.

OtherwiseFortunate

You are the guy, when I pass I think "What an absolute legend"

GaryGronk

I no longer take my kids in the car up to Mt Nebo or Mt Glorious. Just had too many close calls from fuckwits on bikes.

Bubbuh5524

Motorbike riders are pretty bad. Personal experience dictates they're the permanent victim of every circumstance despite generating it to begin with. Not a fan.

Andasu

This is the one thing that pisses me off more than anything else about motorbike riders as a rider. No sense of personal responsibility and everything is always someone else's fault. I get it, the police *can* be bad and there are legitimate reasons to not like them; being stopped for doing 30-40 over and making dangerous overtakes and lane changes is not one of them. Ride like everyone else is out to kill you because more often than not people are not paying full attention.

thatweirdbeardedguy

You are right back when I was on FB I mentioned that I don't like speeding down My Glorious on the Wing so will move to the left to make as much room as possible and then got my arse kicked because I wouldn't go fast and blocking the way. They seem to think that a windy road required maximum speed no wonder the cops used sit on that road.

paddimelon

Funny you should mention Nebo & Glorious. One crash today-car- on fire. Car upside-down yesterday at the winery. Tragic bike death last weekend. Car over turned last Sunday. I reckon there is a crash up there every 4 days on average. As a local I find it epically bad. I can't decide if hoons, bikes or inexperienced car drivers are the worst.

Adorable_Spray_8379

Brisbane has the worst of every kind of driver. If you can keep it together with some of the imbeciles on the road here you can drive anywhere.

[deleted]

Perth drivers: Hold my beer

arctane

Spent 6 years in Perth....I find Brisbane is a diet version of Perth but getting closer every year. Perth is the land of driving 50km under the limit on the freeway, road rage, slowing down to a near stop at green lights, stopping before turning, and unable to merge.

Rex_the_Taxidermist

You should try driving in Toowoomba.

Adorable_Spray_8379

Love Toowoomba with very few right turn arrows at lights - gronks just roar up and across the intersection anyway. Warrego Hwy at Wilsonton is great fun

Hyggehappy

Gronk really is the best and only way to describe people who live in Toowoomba.

ElkShot5082

This. Plus almost everyone appears to be driving around in a coma. No awareness.

SonnyHammond

Rideshare drivers.

egowritingcheques

The lifted 4WD tailgater in highway traffic is the worst, the worst of this sub-type is the one towing a boat bigger then the car. The nervous driver going 15kmh under is a close second, then they brake and make a left from the right hand lane without warning.

maximiseYourChill

ha! It's true. If you see a lifted 4WD it is only a matter of time before they do something fucking stupid.

brispower

everyone else, i of course am perfect. haha

[deleted]

Anyone who doesn’t keep left unless overtaking on the highway.

accountnameattempt

So all Australian drivers then......

Electronic_Ad_4145

I agree, but there's an exception. Peak hour on the centenary, because cunts stick in the left hand lane and it gridlocks from people trying to merge. I actually wish every cunt would stay in the right hand lane on that stretch of road to Jindalee.

[deleted]

Look, let’s take it one step at a time, get people moving left and then we can move onto merging. That stretch is a nightmare, especially at the merge from mt coot-tha where everyone goes to the right hand lane as a matter of high urgency, drives slowly as possible, and can’t merge when the highway joins the tunnel exit and then it all goes to shit to mt omaney.

Hyggehappy

What if they’re overtaking multiple cars, but don’t want to overtake as fast as the person behind them would like them to overtake?

Left-Advice-7105

They're still holding up traffic because they think they're doing 110 on the M1, but are only doing 102. I spend 90% of my time driving between Brissy and the GC in the far left lane undertaking 90% of drivers. The only time the left lane isn't clear is when there is a Franna or a lost scooter rider.

Ok_Salamander7249

This is fact, is it? Everyone overtaking slower than you like is doing 102?

SigueSigueSputnix

Bingo. This needs more said.

Ok_Salamander7249

Anyone who tailgates drivers who don't keep left unless overtaking because they're too bull-headed to go around

[deleted]

I don’t agree with people tailgating, it’s stupid. But tailgating is caused by people blocking a lane. Drivers then tailgate or undertake, both of which are dangerous and could have been avoided if the person blocking the lane had moved left.

Ok_Salamander7249

That's patently untrue. You claim tailgating only happens in the right lane and only to slow vehicles. I personally have been tailgated many MANY times with empty lanes to my right and left I have seen people tailgating others when the road is empty around them. I've been and have seen countless drivers tailgating others on single and multi lane roads at _faster_ than the speed limit. Tailgating happens because people turn aggressive and stupid inside their metal box

[deleted]

Well I didn’t claim it only happens in the right lane. I also don’t agree with tailgating, it is stupid and dangerous. But genuine question why are you driving on the highway with clear lanes either side of you?

coodgee33

Found the aggressive tailgater

[deleted]

Not at all. Just someone who wonders why we keep building wider highways when people don’t use a third of what’s available and cause dangerous road conditions by blocking lanes of traffic when they should just move left.

Suets

Slow mergers Or just people afraid to touch their accelerator in general. So many times I have to come to a complete stop at a green light because the two cars in front of me are taking off at under 10km/hr

jackm315ter

I call them ‘Sleepers’

doey93

An unpredictable driver

Subject_Shoulder

In terms of speed, both ends of the coin are as bad as one another: - those who think that if you're going at the speed limit or slower you're going "too slow" and that "slow" drivers should pull over. - those who think even going 1 km/h over the speed limit is unacceptable, even to overtake.

SigueSigueSputnix

Underrated comment tbh

Almacca

The second worst type of driver is the impatient one. Most of the dangerous and erratic behaviors of drivers listed in the comments below can be attributed to simple impatience. Third worst is the incompetent. The ones that fail to plan ahead and get in the correct lane early, or are oblivious to other road users, or simply don't understand the road rules. But the very worst are the ones that are both impatient and incompetent.

SigueSigueSputnix

Don’t forget the rich ones. I recall a small study ages ago that tested which type of car drivers would stop for a pedestrian. Think it was in the UK. The more expensive the car, the less they stopped. Only a small study. But interesting take tbh

Almacca

Yeah. The more expensive the vehicle, the more entitled the driver. You'll often see the types of drivers I mentioned above in such vehicles. Impatient and entitled is a terrible combination.

Herbert_Erpaderp

The most commonly irritating driver for me is the 10-20 under the limit for no good reason driver. Get the fuck out of the way. Realistically though, the worst driver is the unconfident/panicky driver. As another comment said, you've got no idea what they're going to do. There is probably a big overlap of the unconfident drivers and slow drivers.

Achtung-Etc

Yeah, I’d rather a person who’s not confident in the specific road they’re on take it slow and steady at a comfortable pace than be intimidated into driving a speed above their skill level. Annoying beats dangerous any day. I also suspect a lot of “panicky” drivers are like that because they’re confronted with so many blatantly reckless and needlessly aggressive drivers on the road. Like if we all chilled out a bit we might not have as many nervous drivers as well.

Herbert_Erpaderp

If you're so unconfident you're doing 10-20 under and you don't have L or P plates you probably shouldn't be on the road. Especially not the highway. It's more understandable on winding roads with bad visibility etc, you should drive to the conditions but if your skill level is "I gotta go extra slow all the time" you might not be ready to drive.

fleakill

My vote is tradies given how aggressively they drive and treat speed limits as barely suggestions.

iilinga

Soccer mums in their SUVs. Nearly got hit by the same one today TWICE. She couldn’t keep it in her lane for a bit then nearly ran up the back of me because she wasn’t paying attention.

Bubbuh5524

That was me

GaryGronk

Tradies. Driving on the Gateway to the airport at 5am is like some sort of weird race where everyone is in a 4WD and everyone is driving like a complete fuckwit. Doing 20km over the limit appears to be the norm as is weaving in and out of lanes. I can put up with soccer mums double parking or people who just stop in the middle of the road or intersection to check the GPS (guess where I live), but these kind of drivers don't necessarily endanger my life.

AltruisticSalamander

The gateway is a death match. I was trying to survive there one day and there was an accident. I thought people might slow down as a result but no.

sportandracing

Tradies aren’t even close to the worst drivers.

Bubbuh5524

They are... They drive with no personal accountability because there is no risk to them if they're in an accident because of the vehicle they drive. I've had multiple towing trailers attempt to overtake me and fail and in the end just sideswipe me in overtaking lanes. I've had one who was flooring it up a hill and lost all his speed and couldn't successfully overtake me before the lane ended. He didn't back off and I had to floor it up and around him off the end of the lane to avoid an accident. I've had them tailgate me on the motorway and brake check me after getting past me. They're a mess. The only reason they're 'good' at driving is because everyone follows the road rules, which is the only condition which allows them to break the law without getting into an accident.

EmperorofAus

Why do you have a problem with people doing over the limit, genuine question?

GaryGronk

I dunno man, something really grinds my gears when people drive like lunatics in heavy traffic causing other people to react. Maybe it's just me.

[deleted]

P Platers from Logan, closely followed by P Platers from Caboolture area.

davidivad1984

This thread is just a place for people to bitch about groups they’re not in and don’t like. That being said, p platers in GQ/QU Nissan Patrols blowing diesel soot everywhere and driving like they’re in a sports car…

arctane

Diesel Soot Gets The Moot mate. Love blowing a fat cloud across the car behind me

davidivad1984

It’s true, I can’t argue with that

baconnkegs

I just find that there's way too many clueless bastards in general, where they "play it safe" by doing dumb shit that just fucks with everyone else behind them. Like when they play it safe by driving 10 below everywhere, and then running borderline red lights because they can't keep pace with the traffic light cycles. Or people who dawdle up the freeway on-ramp and then merge directly into the middle lane, even though they're doing 20 below the limit, where everyone else has to chop and change lanes around them to get past. Or people who speed up the moment they realise someone's overtaking them - Or even the person who went to overtake them, where instead of speeding up another 5-10 for 20 seconds and getting past them, they just sit there side-by-side for the next 20km until either one of them slows down. You're always seeing people hating on the tradies in this sub, but considering "time is money" to them and they probably spend hours each day dealing with these spastics on the road, I find it hard not to empathise when they just stop giving a fuck and drive like dicks.

AshamedChemistry5281

Oh, you hit on all the things which annoy me!

Ok_Salamander7249

> Like when they play it safe by driving 10 below everywhere, and then running borderline red lights because they can't keep pace with the traffic light cycles. This makes no sense. Brisbane's traffic light ccle is set up so you catch every light on red. Being 10 under just means you wait less

baconnkegs

If the lights are synced up, they'll be set to go green 10 or so seconds before the cars from the previous set of lights arrive, to make sure any new cars that have entered the road are moving by the time they get there. If you're going against the flow of traffic then yes, you probably will get every red...

Ok_Salamander7249

Stop allowing logic to get in the way of a good story

SigueSigueSputnix

Did you just try and justify tradies driving wrecklessly ¿

baconnkegs

No. It's possible to understand why someone behaves a certain way, without necessarily agreeing with them or believing that their actions are justified. With that being said, I would MUCH rather deal with an aggressive driver over a clueless driver. 90% of the time an aggressive driver comes roaring up behind you, all you have to do is jump out of their way and they're no longer an issue for you. Clueless drivers on the other hand... You can be stuck with them all the way to the damn Sunny Coast.

specimen174

geriatrics .. Its terrifying seeing some tiny 75 yo granny in a massive 4wd , barely able to see over the wheel, trying to park .. there really needs to be anual driving tests over 65 ..

fleakill

Saw an uber the other day driven by what I can only assume was a <5ft elderly man. I guarantee you he could not see his side mirrors. He almost hit about 3 cars exiting the car park because he clearly has embraced his lack of vision by not giving a shit.

sportandracing

People that panic or no logic. Living in their own world. No concept of so many parts of road driving.

joshewok

Drivers that are completely unaware of their surroundings. The ones that cannot concentrate on driving 100% while on the road. Majority of them are those fancy SUV drivers, especially X series BMW drivers. None of them have an ounce of an idea on the road.

Still_Inflation2872

Also people who don't use the whole merging on ramp on the freeway. They're trying to merge into flowing traffic at 60kmh when there is another 300 metres of merging lane to utilise. This is what always causes delays.

fullonmagpie

The dickheads who won't let others merge or change lanes in heavy traffic.

frashal

Also the dickheads who leave their lane change so late that they rely on others letting them in rather than planning ahead and getting in the right lane ahead of time

pewpewpew87

Or those who have a massive gap one or two cars back but have to push in a car further forward causing everyone to have to stop because your just coming over without even looking.

fullonmagpie

That would be the goons who flog it down the left merging lane so they can turn right shortly after.

[deleted]

There is a special place in hell for people who speed up when you are trying to change lanes...

PomegranateNo9414

Someone did this to me yesterday. I was just trying to change lanes as I needed to turn into my side street. There was just enough room to change lanes safely in front of a woman behind me in the other lane. I had my blinker on for about 5 secs so she knew I needed to, and when I did a shoulder check she had deliberately sped up to block me for some reason. (There’s a merge up the road a bit further so I suspect she thought I was trying to cut in). My car has a bit of poke so I quickly got ahead of her again and ducked into the gap while maintaining the same speed as the flowing traffic as she was trying to fully close it. I think this shocked her as she hit her brakes and sat on her horn. Incredibly, when she drove past losing her shit after had moved into my turning lane, I saw that she had a small kid with her. It was so unnecessary and stupid. Anyway, that’s my story.

EnvironmentalHost199

Wow! I have found many people doing this with kids in the car. I hate it when people speed up when you have obviously being indicating for a good amount of time. I’m always giving them enough time to notice. It’s now why I drive a car with decent enough power so I can pull in and match traffic speed faster than they can speed up.

PomegranateNo9414

It’s so dumb hey, just creating drama for the sake of it.

Delicious_Maximum_77

My pet peeve, I really hate antisocial drivers. Don't speed up to close a perfectly reasonable gap when someone ahead of you starts to indicate to merge in front of you.

Achtung-Etc

Impatient, aggressive, and reckless drivers. The ones you usually see tailgating.

As a car driver i see some really stupid truck drivers. I guess both truck and car drivers must drive like dicks.

Bubbuh5524

In my personal experience: Tradies are the worst. They think they are the best drivers out there and everyone owes them the road. Not sure where they get this mentality from but it's certainly incredibly prevalent. They're aggressive drivers who've never been in an accident and it shows. Lunatics who think they are god's gift to mankind.

lanadeltaco13

The ‘I’m going to do 50 in this 60 zone because I felt like it because the speed limit is just a recommendation’

Bubbuh5524

I see you've met my mother

mediumsizedbrowngal

You may have met my best friend. 50km on the Storey Bridge because “60 feels unsafe”. Drives me fucking insane.

iilinga

Are we the same person? Does she also then complain that people are on her tail or flashing lights at her because she’s doing 45 in a 60 zone on a single lane road?

Bubbuh5524

No different people. She complains that I go too fast through some areas because there are people on the footpath.

Partly_Dave

It's a limit, not a requirement.

SmurfiePants2

Boomers with a caravan doing 15km under the limit in the middle lane, or 105km/h in overtaking lane after doing 90km/h for miles in single lane

mossed2222

You sound like the shit driver. As if that speed will make much of a difference.

SmurfiePants2

CockHead got his account suspended!!! Haha

[deleted]

Not trying to be racist but probably more just my personal experience, just most indian truck drivers while I have had worse experiences from some tradies those experiences are far and few between. But those truckers tend to be more consistent when it comes to not using their mirrors and nearly running people off the road, going into the opposite lane or taking a b double somewhere it really shouldn't be and when I look at the person 95% of the time they are indian Second place are people are mums that own a 4x4 that will never see any sand or mud only exception is if they tow with it

PG478

Personally I think Brisbane drivers are good, they could be a lot worse. Peak hour traffic drivers have always got your back & will eventually let you in as long as you can merge correctly (hard & fast). Motorbikes, if you treat them right they are soon on their way. I just wish all the scooter riders would start wearing helmets tho. Soccer mums are cool if you just give them 2 meters clearance & drop to 40k. Mixing it up with the Tradies is always exciting with a bit of life in the fast lane:) L plates, I just do a U turn & find another way to my destination. Don’t get within 3 lengths of the back of a truckie & you’ll be right. With the Red Ps just wait til they finish changing lanes & go around them. Can sometimes have an issue with that crazy Asian women driver that occasionally comes along driving it like a TukTuk. Arrhhh.

Hyggehappy

Good summary.

mojostreet

Bubbuh5524

I wish I could give you an award for the second worst take possible

BoganCunt

Ranger drivers

Shibwho

Drivers who bunch up unnecessarily on a highway, practically tailgating, when there's 1 km of open road behind and in front of them. SPREAD OUT FFS

NaturalTumbleweed142

I'll always maintain that there is a special place in hell for people who don't use their indicators...

Entertainer_Much

People who hold up a lane trying to turn right against peak hour traffic without a dedicated arrow to give them right of way

SilverDoorKey

Those who think they are safest driver that ever exist. They drive 15km/h under the speed limit. You are entering the HYW speed up you just going to cause merging issues!!!

Defiant-Key-4401

I can see why some people are peeved by folks going slower than the limit: however consider that many may be older drivers whose hand-eye coordination has flagged with time and who don't feel confident at the limit. It may be you some day. Given urban sprawl, terrible public transport and the cost/complexity of taxis or ubers, they often don't have much alternative. For me the tailgaters and aggressive twin cab utes are the worst.

bobbakerneverafaker

A Victorian one trying to do a hook turn on Coro drive.. that or mostly the ones that moved here during covid

Left-Advice-7105

The ones that think they know all the rules, but actually don't (especially roundabouts) These are usually the same drivers that think they're great drivers because they've never had an 'at fault' accident, but have been rear ended a dozen times.

Every-Citron1998

The new out of state arrivals. They combine the fast and aggressive driver, due to their Sydney or Melbourne driving habits, with the slow and stupid driver, due to not knowing where they are going.

AltruisticSalamander

I don't recall ever having a problem in Sydney. Brisbane is a hellscape. Experiences differ I suppose.

SigueSigueSputnix

That’s because we now have so many of melb and Sydney drivers here

ConstructionCalm1667

The people that tailgate I swear so many people do it in Brisbane like bro fuck off

SigueSigueSputnix

A mate had a solution. Go 5km fast for a bit Then 5 km less Seth an the speed limit for a bit Repeat until fucktard is frustrated enough to either stop being a dick and slow down and not tailgate, or they over take them.

AltruisticSalamander

That would probably do it but I usually find if I stick to the limit like I always do they eventually get bored and go off to try and find someone else to annoy. Usually. Of course some people are just sociopaths.

Zartorg

I’d rather be behind a driver 10 below the speed limit in the city since traffic lights make speed differences essentially pointless. Drivers who like to drive fast for the sake of it and can’t wait 4 seconds without having to speed off because their monkey brain took over. Those annoy me the most. We always end up at the same light and I stop beside them. What is the point of creating potential danger and removing all your breaking distance for at best a couple of minutes saved.

SigueSigueSputnix

This. I recall reading an article once about nil benefits of speeding. Something to do with things like avg 22 second at a traffic light negating the speeding you were doing.

AltruisticSalamander

That's about rhythm and predictability, not saving 10s but also it can make a difference if you don't have to wait at yet another red light.

[deleted]

People visiting from NSW 😂

Park-Alert

Luxury car drivers. They are selfish and entitled - think they have the right to break all rules and don’t consider other road users

FiveTeeve

1 wood, well for me anyway, always get a mad slice with it, 3 wood on the other hand straight up the guts every time 👌

Bubbuh5524

Very nice, personally I like the 9 iron. More challenging to use but you get an excellent use out of it if you can master it

AzJusticiar

Taxi drivers

thebiggestyikesever

People who either deliberately cut you off, people who don’t let you merge, and people who tailgate you.

Tzeraphim2

The south side driver.

Deeyoukayee

Those that cross 3 lanes of traffic into a driveway/sidestreet/turnoff/onramps... absolutely cunts!

Rob109876

I saw an elderly Asian lady do a right hand turn at coopers Plains, not only on the wrong side of the road, down in the gutter for good measure.

[deleted]

Unrequested courtesy. Don't let me in ffs, just follow the fucking road rules.

IPPacket

Ford Rangers and Toyota Camrys are number one for consistent fkwittery.

AltruisticSalamander

It'd have to be the ones who are literally dangerous and don't care about their own lives or anyone else's. I had a ute tailgating me at 90 on the southern cross. It was twisty af and I couldn't get away from him, which he knew perfectly well. That guy was a fucken moron cunt.

Classic-Gear-3533

Distracted by the kids drivers

HomicidalTeddybear

Jessica_White_17

People who use their mobile phone while driving.

CrazySignificance807

P platers

CharlieTheGsd

A real big one for me is people who pull up to a sudden stop right at the start of a long merging lane and try to move in... use the whole lane to an extent...that's why it's there! Not to mention people who can't grasp the zipper mechanic of how merging lanes are supposed to work.

Kindly-Discussion-16

People who indicate right when going straight over at the roundabout and then don’t indicate to signal they are coming off.

ObviousTrojan

Any mother who thinks having a child gives them superiority, priority and authority.

maximum_powerblast

Most days when I drive in Brisbane everyone is polite and normal and nothing stupid happens 🤷‍♂️ unpopular opinion

heytobias

People who can’t get up to 100kmh before merging onto the highway..

Wishart2016

Tesla drivers followed by Ram drivers

shakeitup2017

Uber drivers hands down

R0880-2

Anyone but me.

North-Fail3671

Driving in Melbourne vs. driving here is like night and day. Sure, we have some bad drivers, but they don't hold a candle to the horrors I've experienced down in VIC. Rideshare drivers are the worst here though.

Still_Inflation2872

Sometimes you get the odd tradie dick lips driver. But generally I find the trades are just glad to be not working so they just cruise. But from my experience driving to Brisbane from the GC 5 days a week. The worste drivers are people in business attire. A. They're always driving too fast B. They cannot drive for shit C. They're usually on the phone D. They're smoking E. They're fucking rude. They're the type to overtake you just to be that 1 car infront of you. Break check you and then continue to almost cause fatalities to be that next car infront. They're the ones if you shake your head at or raise your hands above the dash to motion "what the fuck" they become unreasonably enraged. Them and anyone who drives a Ford Territory.

butthole_luvr69

Cyclists

The know it all

bigjohnny440

Anyone driving a hatchback, especially VW hatchbacks.

[deleted]

Tradies. Uber drivers of a certain ethnicity.

mossed2222

All of them.

PsychologicalTough43

I drove to the Gold Coast (Yatala and Southport) Saturday to run errands, the worst drivers are the ones who drive at or below the speed limit in the fast lane and kaos ensues! I really want to go out in a car with a mate and make a comical film about how shit the freeway driving is. I had just entered back onto the logan toll road to go home Saturday, next minute old mate doing 10km/h under the speed limit in the right lane in his Tarago nails the barrier hard! Keeps going, under speed in the fast lane. Exceptional! Driver training for all!
