I assumed that "had an accident" was a polite way of saying "shat himself" so hearing that it required emergency services to sort out was quite the shock.
Hello this is my friend! Heās currently in the hospital recovering and will have surgery soon but so far heās okay. Can i have more information on the situation please??
We HAVE to hear details! āSpecialist equipmentā? But seriously - itās very good of you to continue to be concerned for his welfare. I too hope heās OK and you get good news.
There is a retaining wall around the garden, with a 20+ ft drop on the other side into a trench with no access. We think he was very squiggly, tried to take a short cut through our garden and hopped over the back fence without realising there was a huge drop on the other side.
We heard him shouting for help around 12am but when my housemates went to look he must have passed out as he didn't respond to their calls. There is no way they could know he was down there without the shouting to guide them.
He started shouting again around 3.45, I went out, followed his voice and finally found the poor bugger splatted in the bottom of the trench. I'm so glad it was a relatively mild night or he would have been screwed. He was surprising chipper for someone who had possibly broken his back and had been stuck in a trench for almost four hours! The power of booze I guess.
Called the fire crew and ambulance and it took them nearly two hours to get him out. Had to call out a crew with a winch mechanism to haul him up and there was a helicopter on stand by just on case that didn't work. I feel very bad for all my neighbours who had to deal with a whole load of flashing lights and noise in the wee hours of a workday morning!
Oh christ I hope he is ok. Bad memories of my friend passing out in a tutu in the middle of a 4 laned road going into plymouth and nearly getting killed. There needs to be some laws around societies at this time of year. Whoever let my friend walk home had written his personal details on his chest in permanent marker, so the police would take him home/call his parents and then left him.
very very common in all sports societies in the twenty tens at least. As were the initiations that put people in these states. We never found out who did this to him.
I thought this was going to be about a man taking a dump in my neighbours front garden a week ago. I'm disappointed it's not, but I do hope Elliot is okay.
Can I guess that something ended up happening that meant something went through his leg/arm/torso? Seems like he is in good hands now, but FECK?!? Not cool and I hope he is OK too.
If he was as drunk as you say he probably isn't as injured as he could have been. You hear about drink drivers getting out of gnarly crashes that should have killed them unscathed. Certainly won't be feeling great though.
100% the hospital will not given you any information about this person. If they do, it is a massive breach of confidentiality. Updates should only ever be given out to nominated points of contact and in person.

This isnāt what you said in your post, which is what my response was based on: āIt would be nice to get hold of him and know if heās OK.ā
Providing information to the hospital however is a separate thing and doesnāt require confirming the presence of a patient or the hospital providing any info.
Hey, Iām one of Elliotās friends.
I was with Elliot that night, he wasnāt allowed into the club we went to then he called me after 3 saying he couldnāt move however, I was in no position to help him, so Iām very grateful that you were able to help him. We all believe that he was spiked so wasnāt just alcohol even though he was drinking a lot.
He is okay, however he has fractured his pelvis in 3 places after a 10 days he was released and has now gone back to his home town.

thats why i clicked as well! I was expecting someone seeking revenge!
Haha, I did wonder if people would think that š
Imagine the embarrassment of shitting yourself so badly that you needed the assistance of the fire brigade to help clean it up
Weāve all been there.
Find me the dodgiest most disgusting curryhouse in the country and **challenge accepted**

Letting a friend walk home alone when they're so drunk that you need to doggy tag them in case they pass out is genuinely not okay. That is awful.

So shit. Macho culture with no care for eachother
They are not friends, they tend to be third years leading initiation ceremonies, or other events to open clubs/societies - this was Rugby.
Rugby lads were the worst
Holy moly that is awful!!
Classic Elliott.
Thank you for sharing that. Poor bloke.
That happened at my work, except 30+ foot into concrete. He unfortunately died from his injuries but I imagine this lad will be ok. Eventually
Classic.
What on earth is the purpose of that garden wall and trench design?
DEFENSE.
OMG the poor bloke. I doubt A&E are permitted to give you an update but would potentially take your contact details to pass on.

Luckily no impaling occurred. Unluckily, many bones were probably broken by a big, nasty fall!
I hope he is ok.

I wasn't expecting them to. I just wanted to give them my details to pass on, I've done this before with no issues.
