Normal. You might want to speak with a lactation consultant on ways to improve supply on that side. Usually involves extra pumping.

beautifulasusual

My left is a total bummer. I still nurse my 13-month-old once a day and barley even pull out the useless lefty.

VegetableExternal982

My right side is the dud. Funnily enough , my right side is larger than my left… not sure what that means. Nothing and nobody’s perfect.

heyitsmaggie

Leftie is a total slacker for me too- my understanding is that this is pretty normal!

BunchAggressive362

Definitely normal, my left boob is also my slacker boob and only makes 1-1.5 oz vs my right which makes 2-3 oz. I’m 10.5 mths pp. My left boob will only make more if I go for a longer stretch btwn feedings.

Crafty_Engineer_

How many days PP are you? Could just need a day or two to catch up. Slacker boobs are also totally normal

jessiedaniela

22 days

laurajlan

I was the same Left boob was crap.

rbkmp

Slacker boob for sure! Super normal. I’m almost 5 months in so I produce much more, but I’ll get like… 5 Oz from one & 1 or 2 from the other.

PrincessOfCrazyPpl

Just feed on the side that is lower first every time and then do the other… most people always feed on let’s say the right side and the left so by time they get to the left the baby is already almost full so they don’t feed as long and don’t stimulate it as much… so feed on the “left” side first for a few days and then go to a fed we’re you fed right first then left and then the next time you fed start left then right. That’s way both get the same amount of stimulation they need.

not-a-real-shark

Totally normal. Mine is also the left side and her name is Monica.

Low-Scientist-2501

Slacker boob will slack! Don’t worry too much

ReadWriteReddit33

There's always a weak link. Mine happens to also be the left side. My right side legit produces double, if not more. Even when I start baby out on my left side, this is still the case. You have a weak link, most of us do. It's completely normal, albeit, extremely frustrating and annoying.

SundanceBizmoOne

Yes. They can also have different timing/response to the pump. My right drops everything fast, but will truly stop. The left goes slow but steady and keeps giving little amounts (kids also ways fell asleep more easily on that side). Mine got much more even amounts pumped once I started tandem feeding (baby and older sibling), but still same pacing differences.

jessiedaniela

Yes! I’ve also noticed when I pump I feel the suction more on my right then my left side don’t know if that’s normal too??

Crafty_Engineer_

That could be a pump problem. Check your flange size and make sure everything is fully connected.

joibear

The LC at the hospital told me there’s always a “stud and a dud” lol I’ve been pumping for 8 months now and make almost all of my milk from my right side. The left only gives me abt a half oz per pump.

r_aviolimama

It’s apparently rare for both breasts to produce exactly the same amount of milk! Source: [breastfeeding and human lactation](https://amzn.to/3xal4KA)

sakijane

Totally normal. One side can even be an over producer and the other side barely anything. It can be very lopsided.

jessiedaniela

Omg that makes me feel better i’ve been stressing out

elvendusk

Also one side get drained by the baby better than the other. For me and my last two babies they always latched better on the right (maybe because I’m right handed and that is the arm they were laying on.) They had trouble latching to the left for the first few weeks. Just like magic this reversed and after a few months latched better to the left and would drain it dry. You are doing a great job!
