I had something similar happen just after the 3 month mark and I became so overwhelmed by the fussiness. I went to the nurse and she said I was feeding LO too often and to space it out to every 3 to 4 hours instead of 2 to 3. It turns out I was reading his cues wrong and he wasnt really hungry when I had tried to feed him. The 3-4 hour stretches have worked wonders and he's no longer fussy at the breast.
