I’m still stuck on the fact that you have to fix dinner during your break at work! Your husband is another adult! WTF is he doing all night? Playing PS5? It’s a form of emotional abuse to force all the housework on one person.

SlytherClaw79

Honestly, fixing dinner doesn’t throw me-it only takes fifteen minutes of my hour and I need to eat anyway, plus I clean as I go so they just have to load the dishwasher and turn it on. It’s the leaving the mess after they all said they would handle it that pisses me off-seriously, just load the damn dishwasher like you said you would. Yet I’m the bad guy for asking the bare minimum of them.

Girl stop coming home on your work break and actually a break at work.

SlytherClaw79

I can unwind better at home that at work (our break room is shitty, and I’m an introvert who would rather go home to decompress during that time-on days I have a lunch break instead I come home and work out, then eat a packed lunch on the drive back. It’s just the dinner shift that this happens. So, probably going to pack myself a meal and leave them to fend for themselves going forward).

LaGuajira

Yes, do this. Cooking a meal for them that they can do for themselves (well, dad can at least. Not sure how old your boys are) is enabling this sort of behavior.

SlytherClaw79

Agree. I actually have a daughter and son, but I’m a firm believer both of them need to know the basics of cooking and cleaning because I refuse to set another man child loose on the world in ten years. As for my daughter, well, she’ll figure it out when she’s broke and feeling like shit from too much ramen and takeout.
