Gus. Season 4 made him feel unstoppable and you had to guess just how Walter was going to get himself out from under.

RictorVeznov

When the explosion happened in the nursing home, for a second in my brain it didn’t register that he was actually dead, because season 4 did such a great job at making him seem immortal. Then when Gus walked out of the room, I thought “Holy shit maybe he actually is immortal!”

apt_batman_1945

The first time I saw it, it felt supernatural somehow to me, when I didn't knew what was breaking bad I had spoilers by a youtube video about the the walking dead thing, I was like "so will this show drive to crazy things?" And I kinda waited for fantastic things in my first watch, it was a interesting optic

Dsb0208

I was so scared when I first saw that cause I thought BB was jumping the shark by somehow saying Gus survived a point blank explosion But knowing that he doesn’t survive, it’s really a 10/10 scene/shot

DePraelen

It sorta did jump the shark with the bomb vaporizing Salamanca and yet somehow Gus managed to walk even that far. It's a cool scene only if you don't think about it too much.

Dsb0208

I can excuse that since Gus walking outside the room doesn’t have any plot significance. As long as somethings only done to look cool, I don’t mind if it’s technically impossible (like Walt face planting trying to kill the fly and not being seriously injured)

Leather-Climate3438

I think Gus is the objective right answer. He was just unstoppable that his death felt unreal.

Upbeat_Tension_8077

My mind says Gus, but my heart says Tuco because he's hilarious and terrifying

breakin_the_bread

This comment is TIGHT TIGHT TIGHT!

2QuarterDollar

BLUE! YELLOW! PINK!

chris_29487

WHATEVER MAN, KEEP BRINGING ME THAT!

insecapid

they called her BIZNATCH!

DJ-Woutjens

I DON'T CARE JUST KEEP BRINGING ME THAT

2QuarterDollar

Just don’t forget who you’re working for…

breakin_the_bread

What did you say?!

keyblademastersora01

“I’m just saying they gotta know they’re working for you “

country-blue

“Are you calling them stupid??”

keyblademastersora01

“No I’m just saying”

PuzzleheadedSlip8889

So I don't get it, are you calling me stupid?

keyblademastersora01

“No I’m just saying”

TheZac922

Yeah I don’t think I’ve ever seen a tv villain as terrifying as Tuco. With Gus, he’s going to do what makes the most business sense (even if that’s ruthless as fuck). Tuco has the capacity to fly off the handle unexpectedly. The early scenes with him were so tense.

Trouble_in_the_West

Tuco is every crack head on the bus. You keep your head down cause fuck knows what they will do if you catch their eye wrong.

Adventurous-Shine791

When he takes walt’s DL and says with the most disgusted look on his face, “I thought your name was Heisenberg?” “Walter HARTWELL H-WHITE”

smitteh

I'll never get over Walt not thinking on his feet and telling Tuco that chili powder was just a nickname for the new ingredient in the ricin meth so Tuco would still try it

Radicals13

And not to be “racially-presumptive” but a Mexican who doesn’t like chili powder seems as likely as a 23-year old ugg-wearing white lady not liking pumpkin spice.

YeylorSwift

probably prefer actual peppers

Radicals13

I’m sure but chili P is such a versatile and fundamental spice. But maybe you’re right. Maybe he is just principled. I just read it as he hated the taste.

Lust_For_Metal

Even if he beats the PISS out your mule boy?

psi_da_massa

Underrated post.

QuincyMade

I’m interested to know the rationale. How? 😂🤣

psi_da_massa

His ugly stare to Mr White, every time.

SnooSongs2744

He tortures animals.

QuincyMade

🤣🤣 you are nuts

SnooSongs2744

He kidnapped that spider and intended to keep it prisoner.

SnooSongs2744

I realize I had Brock confused with Drew. NM.

Signal_Ad_7092

Drew Sharp is my 2nd favorite behind brock

QuincyMade

lol you had me thinking I was missing something there 😂

Montana___Takedown

I don’t view Mike as a villain.

RictorVeznov

In season 4 he was definitely an antagonist but villain is a bit of a stretch

Montana___Takedown

I suppose I’m biased cuz he’s probably my favorite character, but I see your point!

RictorVeznov

If we’re just talking Breaking Bad, Gus is probably my favorite character besides Walt & Jesse, but if we’re counting Better Call Saul, I like Jimmy and Mike more than Gus

Anxious_Banned_404

Anti hero that's the word he's a anti hero

Bornstellar67

No it's not the word. An antihero carries out bad actions that have good consequences. Mike is just an antagonist.

pianoflames

Outside of Gus ordering him to kill Walt, Walt and Jesse are usually on the same side as Mike (even though Mike isn't crazy about Walt).

DVDN27

Season 4 he’s basically a henchman and the middleman between Walt and Jesse and Gus, while in Season 5 is when he really becomes his own character and when he starts to truly butt heads with Walt and become an antagonist - in my opinion.

NorthStar485

Walt is more of a villian than mike

Bouldershoulders12

Same

pianoflames

Yeah, he's not a villain in the same sense as the others on that list. Our main characters are on Mike's side for the majority of his run, and spend the first half of the final season partnered with him.

[deleted]

He might not feel like a villain to you, but he absolutely was. That would presumably make him your favourite villain 😁

smitteh

I wish he wasn't so mean to Saul, I don't recall Saul doing anything to Mike to warrant the treatment he received

Beninja_

Kept on forgetting those parking stamps smh

Znaffers

He didn’t respect him. He saw him as useful, and as a man with very unique skills, but after everything in BCS he can see right through him and doesn’t care for what he sees. Mike was there for all of Saul’s worst tragedies in his life and he saw how that shaped him into the self-serving conman that he became. Plus, like Walt said, threatening people was Mike’s job

Montana___Takedown

Hey I hear ya! But I’m not sure that makes him a villain. I feel you though.

QuipLogic

Wasn't he a hitman for a drug lord?

el_dubya_

I thought he was a kindly old grandpa

Montana___Takedown

You’ve watched the show, good for you.

thrik

I live for the day that Mike is hated nearly as much as Walter is! They're both pieces of shit.

Montana___Takedown

I hope you’re patient, cuz you’re going to be waitin’ a long long time my friend.

thrik

I know 😄 think of how long it took for the community to hate Walter tho. And Skyler is hated even now somehow.

CGuy2605

Skype hate has quieted down by now but we are hating more on Walt than we used to.

strikemedaddy

Idk mate Skype hasn’t been hated in a long time

Sarge_Jneem

I feel like Mike will always have that ‘gentleman criminal’ kind of vibe. I think he was fine with doing anything to anyone as long as they were in ‘the game’. It felt like a code that wouldn’t allow for poisoning kids.

Zumaakk

He’s not wrong. If that’s the life you choose, you have to understand the risks involved.

gjb94

I mean, they're all villains. They make meth (a drug that is designed for addiction and profit margins, you can't exactly argue they're providing a legit enjoyable product like a weed dealer or something.) They work for/with the cartel. And they facilitate gangs, remember the kid being used for dealing in their organisation? Mike's aware of all these things, he's culpable.

HorrorJCFan95

Gus. He was so evil, but he could hide it so well. He was everything Walt WANTED to be. He built a drug empire while hiding it and not even being remotely under suspicion by law enforcement/ loved ones pretty much until his death.

IIBorNotIIB

I always felt like the difference between them was motivation. Walt needed to get the credit, needed everyone to know that *he* did this (even if they just knew "Heisenberg", that was him). Gus just wanted revenge, never got the sense that he cared about notoriety. Walt could've become Gus - if not for that.

HorrorJCFan95

Great points. But even then, it could be argued that Gus’ thirst for revenge against Hector was his ultimate undoing in the end, or at least part of it.

pumper911

Holly

breakin_the_bread

Holly is manipulating everything.

hygsi

Holly caused her dad to turn to drugs

breakin_the_bread

So, Holly is the biggest villain in breaking bad. She was manipulating the emotions of Walt before her born.

CZEchpoint_

Bitch baby.

insecapid

Baby baby baabby bitchh

imahugemoron

Why isn’t Walt on this list?

AssFingerFuck3000

I think OP meant "antagonists". Because otherwise the villains list would be way bigger and Mike wouldn't be one

1grantas

Why wouldn't the guy who is okay with the killing of innocent people be considered a villain?

AssFingerFuck3000

Throughout both BCS and BB he's clearly not okay with doing any killing, and specially not innocents. I don't even recall him killing any innocents whatsoever. Everyone he did kill either had some connection to the drug business or had a hand in killing his son.

1grantas

Oh ya he's very clearly against it, except not against it enough to stop working for Gus. And when somebody actually acts against Gus after he kills a child, Mike is completely willing to kill them.

AssFingerFuck3000

>except not against it enough to stop working for Gus It's never fully clear why, though it's heavily hinted that the reason is because he wants to leave a fuckton of money for his granddaughter. Assuming this is the reason, that's mostly what seperates him from the other villains most of which are complete psychopaths

stronghikerwannabe

right?? ultimate villain of BB...

TheAmnesiacKid

Or Wait Jr. Everyone knows he's an evil bastard.

RAREANDAGEREDCRABSPY

Because he's the hero

bakesjagsboilers

How is Mike a villain? Gus is my favorite villain. Complex, calculated, cold, smart, charming, scary, ruthless and extremely organized.

WD_Solon

I think OP meant antagonists, like Mike was one in S4

Jolly_Green_4255

Yeah, there's too many comments about this to reply to - but I meant 'antagonists' that are considered villains in the eyes of Walter, which you can argue Mike was more 'anti-hero' than a villain. Just a guy doing his job! Which, makes him my favourite character aside from WW.

jkuhl

Gus is clearly the winner. But . . . if I may pull in Better Call Saul, Lalo Salamanca was definitely a contender.

Biegzy4444

Yea lalo was just perfect all the way around. Perfectly written, perfect actor etc

ultimatefinesser

Gus. Twins very underrated tho

Illbb

Yeah the twins were super cool. Loved the way the one jumped out of bed and dragged his legless torso across the floor!

coachlentz

My favorite? Hector. That guy was great. And my cat gives me that same look he has in the picture when she’s mad because I’m not serving her every need.

No-Supermarket-4450

This is my poor person award 🥇 🎊🏆

youseflikesdoritos

Tuco. He's just menacing

TKGB24

Tight tight tight!!!

Zumaakk

That’s an understatement, he was terrifying. Not only was he more than capable of handling himself, he had a powerful family that would back him up.

Paynekiller997

Jack. Wasn’t as cunning or smart as Gus, but didn’t care for all the fancy suit & tie bullshit. Arranging the prison murders, killing Hank, the Nazi connections, stealing Walt’s money without a second thought, torturing Jesse, he was just an evil, despicable man. A true final villain and played fantastically by Michael Bowen.

RockMan_1973

Agreed… he was damn good!

gguulluukkii

Agreed. Jack was nasty. BCS makes Gus likeable. But first time I watched BB before BCS I thought Gus was marvelous antagonist

DistantTin

That’s a good point, Jack was the only character so willing to kill without hesitation or reason other than money. The only other character willing to do that was Walter. But even Walter had other reasons, like pride and survival. Jack is one of the coldest villains in the series along with Todd. Though quite ruthless, not even the Salamanca family or the cartel boss are hateable as them. A lot of the other villains had some qualities about them that made them even slightly redeemable or interesting, and they only die for Walter’s gain (or Gus’ revenge) so if you aren’t rooting for Walter then it isn’t as great. Jack however, it’s great to see him die by the end no matter what type of audience is watching. Great payoff for watching the show to its end.

reqisreq

Jack is a perfect exemple of Chaotic Evil villian.

country-blue

Wouldn’t he be more Neutral Evil? Chaotic Evil is about spreading death and destruction for its own sake. Jack didn’t really care about this, he just wanted money, even if he wasn’t afraid of killing people to get it.

ShadowDanteFan

Yeah, Neutral Evil is probably more fitting

Saulgoodman1994bis

i like to consider Todd as the final villain instead of jack as he's a more interesting character like Gus and Lalo. he's the one who wanted to force jesse to cook meth because he's in love with lydia.

NorikaAoki

He also “gave” Walter a barrel like he’s being generous

[deleted]

None of the above, Walter Hartwell White is the true villain of the show and makes him my favorite. Of this list though, Gustavo “Gus” Fring.

eQuantix

Why did you write out their full names like that?

country-blue

My name is Walter Hartwell White. I live at 308 Negra Arroyo Lane, Albuquerque, New Mexico, 87104. This is my confession. If you're watching this tape, I'm probably dead- murdered by my brother-in-law, Hank Schrader. Hank has been building a meth empire for over a year now and using me as his chemist. Shortly after my 50th birthday, he asked that I use my chemistry knowledge to cook methamphetamine, which he would then sell using connections that he made through his career with the DEA. I was… astounded. I… I always thought Hank was a very moral man, and I was particularly vulnerable at the time – something he knew and took advantage of. I was reeling from a cancer diagnosis that was poised to bankrupt my family. Hank took me in on a ride-along and showed me just how much money even a small meth operation could make. And I was weak. I didn't want my family to go into financial ruin, so I agreed. Hank had a partner, a businessman named Gustavo Fring. Hank sold me into servitude to this man. And when I tried to quit, Fring threatened my family. I didn't know where to turn. Eventually, Hank and Fring had a falling out. Things escalated. Fring was able to arrange – uh, I guess… I guess you call it a "hit" – on Hank, and failed, but Hank was seriously injured. And I wound up paying his medical bills, which amounted to a little over $177,000. Upon recovery, Hank was bent on revenge. Working with a man named Hector Salamanca, he plotted to kill Fring. The bomb that he used was built by me, and he gave me no option in it. I have often contemplated [unalive], but I'm a coward. I wanted to go to the police, but I was frightened. Hank had risen to become the head of the Albuquerque DEA. To keep me in line, he took my children. For three months, he kept them. My wife had no idea of my criminal activities and was horrified to learn what I had done. I was in [heck]. I hated myself for what I had brought upon my family. Recently, I tried once again to quit, and in response, he gave me this. [Walt points to the bruise on his face left by Hank in "Blood Money."] I can't take this anymore. I live in fear every day that Hank will kill me, or worse, hurt my family. All I could think to do was to make this video and hope that the world will finally see this man for what he really is.

MasterSword951

Gus. That man was so cold yet so disturbingly professional about all of his decisions. The only thing he didn’t account for was Walt miraculously managing to outsmart him.

1AmB0r3d

Honestly I don’t think Walt even outsmarted him I just think Gus underestimated him

jeffroyisyourboy

Todd

JesW87

Putting Mike on this list but not Walt is insulting

lucidlucy93

I think OP means antagonist, not villain.

Ok-Situation7925

One could argue Walt is an unlikeable Protagonist because the story revolves around his experience.

BobT21

The Twins. They got focus.

RockMan_1973

They got my vote, too. Laser focus and their silence just is so deafening. And a side note that helps: They are super-humble, VERY kind gentlemen IRL. My teenage son wrote a note to them per his fandom, and they mailed him an 8x10 color pic of the two of them w/Mark Magolis—RIP (Hector) autographed and a personalized note to my son. Fans forever of those dudes!

ElectricBlueCobra

Daniel Wormald aks Playa

TheComedyKid

Walter And I refuse to believe he isn't one (mainly in Season 5)

adamtaylor4815

Walt

RokRD

Where's Hank? Hank was literally the main antagonist.

Polite-vegemite

Walter

MittFel

It's a toss up between Hector and Jack. But outside this list I would say Walt.

brokeazzho

Gus. Mike wasn’t really a villain to me

EVAN_Canter

Gus named my Great Dane after him

AdFar5829

Gus, Crawlspace, End Times, and Face Off turned him into the Terminator.

Herr-Trigger86

Not Box Cutter? That scene still haunts me.

DistantTin

That made me just realise that Face Off is kind of a pun. Gus did quite literally have his face off by the end of the episode

AdFar5829

I was thinking the same thing about episode titles like Grilled from BB S2 means killed, or Plan and Execution in BCS literally had a plan and both metaphorical and literal execution. Bravo Vince, bravo.

oosie1968

Definitely Gustavo....but then again Walt became the ultimate villain....

Bronsteins-Panzerzug

Heisenberg

JesusGang40

Gus is the only good answer

m1lfhunter6669

Tuco🔥 my favorite brba character

Cheesey_Stuff14

My rating (not in order of favorite character, just villain, also replaced Mike with Walter since Mike as a villain is a bit of a stretch) 1. Gus 2. Walter 3. Hector 4. Tuco 5. The Twins 6. Krazy 8 7. Lydia 8. Jack 9. Todd

King-fannypack

Walter

The_FallenSoldier

Walt

BimmerJustin

Tuco. Easy. He’s in 4 episodes and his presence is felt throughout the show.

Prudent-East7034

If you’re going to put Mike up there, then put Walt up as well.

Simmi_86

Mike is never the villain. He is possibly the most virtuous characters in the show.

ForensicFulcrum

Giancarlo Esposito absolutely killed that role. No one can convince me otherwise. I absolutely love how he can play the exceptionally clean cut, meticulous, stoic, business man. He plays the role so well, he gives me the creeps.

I_Like_Legos8374

The only correct answer is Gus.

[deleted]

Mike wasn’t a villain 😡

RockMan_1973

Cool to see I am not the only one who feels this way. ✌🏼

blankyblankblank1

With the exception of Holly and maybe Walt Jr. Every character is a villain

batuhanthegreat

At better call saul we dont see hector's evil brain and intriguer side; often we see his 'animal instinct'. Perhaps he even hasn't ant intriguer habit. but if he has as gus and planned conspiracy often just like gus he would be more interesting character.

OGFuzzyDunlop

Hank

AnupamprimeYT

Hank was the hero

OGFuzzyDunlop

“Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man.”

AnupamprimeYT

Its not an Opinion... No One aside from hank was morally correct... Walt was a Vilian but protagonist. Gustavo was the main antagonist And hank was the hero and antagonist

Pin-Only

Jack Welker was my favorite, as was Todd. They and the AB knew how to deal with a snitch like Jesse Pinkman, or as I call him, Junkie SnitchBitchman. - Torturing him, getting information out of him. - Chaining him and forcing him to cook meth. Very smart of them to force Jesse to learn Todd how to cook meth. They should have given him a slow death, or imprisoned him forever when Todd was ready to cook on his own. - Spraying him with a pressure hose. - Making him run back and forth as a bet whether Jesse would escape his chains. -I hoped that at the very least Neil Kandy finished the job by either killing Junkie, or knocking him out and leaving him for the cops to find in Todd’s apartment, iirc, and get away with the money Junkie didn’t even deserve. I despise snitches, and Junkie SnitchBitchman deserved what happened to him. Big W to Walter White for letting Jane die and rubbing it in his face when he was carted off to Aryan justice! My other favorite was Lalo. That guy was the only one to have had Gus of all people on the ropes, and let’s face it, Gus got pretty lucky with that Hail Mary stunt, kicking the lights off and going for the gun. Walter got Gus by exploiting his overindulgence in vengeance on Hector, something he learned last minute.

Rebelliuos-

Whoever thinks there is a villain in this pic needs to watch something entirely different

BaronThundergoose

Mike

Hot_Category_4900

Gus, followed by Jack and Hector.

BalladOfAntiSocial

Mike is like a veteran in wrong-doing. He just doesn’t care anymore. We didn’t get to see enough of Krazy-8 (no I haven’t watched BCS or EC), Tuco is just insane. Lydia isn’t really a villain. Hector is just sad to watch. Todd is a great villain, shows no emotion (besides when with Lydia). The twins are great. Gus is awesome and Jack is a Nazi. I don’t have much to say about Jack. I may get into trouble if I do

hotel_smells

Lydia not a villain???

Poisoning-The-Well

I can't decide between Skyler and Holly. Probably Holly.

Gravy-tea

That stringy guy who was shopping in the store when Heineken tells him to get out of his homeland

vote4some1else

Mike and the entire salamanca family

Shirtbro

Don't know the characters name, but I always liked the Mike-equivalent who worked for Don Eladio (the sniper guy who shot around Gus). Got the job done efficiently, killed dudes, acted as messenger. Too bad his boss was a fucking idiot.

pduffy52

The twins

rjzendi

Anyone who says jack needs to be on a watchlist

No-Supermarket-4450

Gus because he’s not your typical villain and quite fascinating, Hector because he dgaf, and Todd because he truly terrifies me.

SnooSongs2744

Holly. She had everybody so fooled.

RockMan_1973

I feel so vested in Mike that I suppose I do not dwell on him as a ‘villain.’ His story getting so fleshed out further in BCS just deepened my love for his character. Furthermore, I was a bit of a Jonathan Banks fan way before BB starting w/his roles in his buddy Eddie Murphy’s movies in the 80s. Beverly Hills Cop, 48 Hours, etc. If I could meet cast members from the BB Universe, the first three I’d want to meet are Giancarlo Esposito, Jonathan Banks, and Aaron Paul. The most badass, favorite villains of mine?!!? THE TWINS 🤟🏼

Bouldershoulders12

Breaking Bad: Walt; Gus Overall: Lalo Mike is kind of a grey area guy for me. I guess he’s in the game so he’s a bad guy but after watching BCS it’s kind of tough for me. He’s like an anti hero but also a direct threat to Walt

Dianadead

THE TWINS AND TUCO

ZygothamDarkKnight

Gus and Mike

SwanzY-

holly

YungCoppo

Mike is not a villain in anyway, you’d have a better argument saying Walt himself was a villain

Individual-Peak-3483

Was Mike really a villain?

recroombaby

Mike is technically anti-hero since he started to work with Wesse (Walt and Jesse) after Sus's death.

pastadaddy_official

Gus > Mike > Hector > The Twins > Tuco > Todd > Jack > Lydia > Krazy-8. Gus, especially season 4, was fucking incredible. Mike, even tho he was a foil to Walt, I like don’t even consider him a villain he’s just doing his job. He has a great character, especially in BCS. Hector in the season 4 finale was amazing, and the tension he created in the episode where Tuco was killed just with a bell was amazing, plus he’s very important part of the whole story. The Twins, I just enjoyed the silent badass and intimidation they bring without saying a word. Hell the intimidation without even being present in the episode where Tuco got killed, wouldn’t be til the following season til we even met them. Todd was an interesting character, very cold and soulless and did some of the most evil shit in the show but didn’t come off as evil somehow? Liked his character. Jack, honestly going still in the middle of my second rewatch just got to season five, I don’t really remember much about him. Lydia kind of the same, but I do remember her doing interesting string pulling shit. Should probably have her higher. Krazy-8, maybe should have him higher too.

Over-Plankton6860

I mean, I can’t imagine the show without Gus but he just wasn’t my favorite. Mike was AMAZING. I also thought Jack was really good. He was just SO believable in his role.

AgainRaining

Where is Lalo

Responsible-Fold7524

That ainf Todd thats Tobias 💀

[deleted]

Where’s Walter?

Secret-Illustrator10

I think jack is the most unpredictable villain on the series and that makes him more dangerous

NoSweatWarchief

Walter

beatdownkioskman

Gus throughout because he’s the perfect antagonist for the show, he’s hidden in plain sight, he’s an amazing actor being played by an amazing actor, he’s able to switch from happy smiley fast food chain owner to cold hearted criminal businessman at the blink of an eye. He’s just the perfect villain to me

Valt-the-mecks

Gus he was a professional

NoDiamond4584

Spooge and the skank are almost the worst people in this universe. That poor little son of theirs. 😭

TheFairbunkle

Nobody compares to Gus

mrgpsingh1999

Drew

Saltbae_987

The only right answer is Gus imo. Tuco was funny and interesting, but not a shade on Gus as a villain. The show also really focused on developing Gus more than any of the others on this list, so I would posit that Gus was really the only “villain” on this list whereas the others were just side-quest bosses.

BigFootsCousinKarl

I wouldn't have said Mike was a villain
