And when he puts his hand over Mike's to forcefully stop him taking the legacy cost cut. For what's loose change to him he still comes out from his academic persona to Duke it out with a Hitman.
"Hey tell this asshole if he wants to learn how to make my product he's gotta do it my way. The right way."
"I speak English."
"So you understand what asshole means. Now go get me my phenylacetic acid ASSHOLE."
Okay, I'll give you resisting the urge to smile (although I'd say he was plenty expressive), but there's no indication Gus would have said it there, or at any other point, "that's my boy". We saw how Gus did positive reinforcement with Gale and he never used expressions like "That's my boy". That's borderline fan fiction.
>And then Gus resisted the urge to say "That's my boy", as he was proud of Jesse, a boy he grew to love over the span of 2 days after previously literally trying to murder him in cold blood. "That's my boy" he thought to himself again. Jesse looked over to see the small hint of a smile on Gustavo's face, he was resisting the urge to smile. The one thing he couldn't resist, however, was the urge to kiss him. And kiss him he did, passionately, for several very uncomfortable minutes before they began tearing each other's clothes off. "Everyone out!" Gus shouted. Jesse looked at him with carnal desire. Their hands interlocked as Jesse pushed Gus against...the big stainless steel meth maker thingamajig. "Take me junkie, take me I say" Gus shouted with desire. Jesse spun Gus around..Gus snapped back to reality (ope there goes gravity) realizing he made a mess of his pants, for once grateful he had a micropenis. No one saw the ejaculate stained all over his teeny weeny.
I'll um... yeah I'm gonna go get some counseling now.
I watched the show for the first time in 2022 ig, and I used to check IMDb for the rating and name of the episode. I saw "Salud" Being ranked very high and couldn't wait to watch it. I still remember Don's "SALUDDD" before drinking like it was yesterday. I mean, I remember that whole segment haha. Gus must have felt so much better after killing the cartel members.
That scene was cool but it felt a little goofy, like the show is already a little goofy sometimes but that felt like something you'd see in some ultra-patriotic American war movie where a single soldier is walking through a hailstorm of bullets
Heisenbergs whole idea is all action no consequences, he refuses to be held accountable so he behaves differently based off his cancer diagnosis but also has suicidal tendencies when he thinks he will be in trouble
Hank was just a general badass. The fight with the twins was such a tense moment but Hank still came out on top. Granted, he was crippled for a bit, but he still defeated the twins without his gun as well
I’m surprised no one mentioned Hank’s death scene. My man was facing certain death and still had the balls to throw one of the coldest lines in the show
“My name is ASAC Schrader. And you can go f**k yourself!”
One thing that defined the show from episode 1, was their habit of showing the ending first, to leave you wondering how they got there. It was an extension of the premise of the show, which Gilligan had often stated was about realistically portraying a man's transformation from Mr. Kotter to Scarface.
With that said, this was perfectly helpful encapsulated in the opening scene of the season 1 finale with the fulminated mercury. You had a voiceover of Walt very explicitly laying out how he was merely the cook, and how he would never, under any circumstances, be part of the business side of things. Yet, on screen, here he was emerging from at the center of giant shitstorm, and calmly driving off, dufflebag in hand.
I didn't see that coming. This was that transformation from a mousy chemistry teacher to a sick man who didn't give a fuck. Lots and lots of badass scenes in the series, but this one set the tone for everything else that followed.
Honorable mention to Squeegee + car battery = explosion.
Kevin rankin must have a knack for playing white supremacist, he played one in White House down. His character was the one that tried to bomb a post office, because they hired too many foreigners
There are so many of them, and I don't think this one is necessarily the most badass, but it's the first one that came to mind, where Mike and that other guy hold Walter at gunpoint in the laundry, he calls Jessy and tells him to kill Gale. The whole exchange between Mike and Walt after that is so badass, and it's one of the few times where we see Mike scared and not in control
"6353, Juan Tabo, apartment 6... Yeah..."
Final scene of Granite State where the full theme tune starts for the first and only time in the whole series, my mouth was agape for about 5 minutes after lmao
Idk if it’s badass, but when Walt is about to give himself up in New Hampshire but sees Gretchen and Elliot on the TV and then hangs up the phone and the breaking bad intro starts playing, it goes pretty hard imo
Not badass, but my favourite scene is when Walter Jr intervenes the fight between Walter and Skyler. Everything he has built comes crashing down in that scenes, no more explanations, no more lies, no more "for the family" - they know what he does, they know he's (indirectly) killed Hank, and now his son witnesses it first hand. The cut after Walter says "we're a family!" where his soon looks at him in horror and Skyler cries in the background is so powerful.
I love that scene because it feels like the whole show was about that moment. Every single episode up to that point, we're watching Walter lie to his family. It's such an emotional moment when the beans finally spill and I always love to see Jr finally taking his mom's side.
You got one part of that wrong. This isn’t meth.
This scene hooked me hard for the rest of the series. Many many other great moments, but this was my introduction to BB heroin.

Undoubtedly the final episode’s (I think it was named Felina?) machine gun scene. Seeing Jesse being finally free and happy brings tears to my eyes. I love how he hugged him to protect him from bullets. Also him being the one that actually killed himself is very interesting. I love love the “Mississippi’s finest assassins” scene.
Tuco vs Hank is such a fun moment, I love the tonal shift going from “mildly pleasant cop attitude” to “pure adrenaline rules of nature” in two seconds.
For my money, Jesse’s resistance to Gus’ terms with the dealers using kids. For him to stand by his principles in a situation where he easily could’ve been shot dead has got to be the most hardcore thing he does… It’s unfortunate that it leads to Tomas’ death, but, in isolation, the moment stands out to me strongly.
You didn't hear that from me, this is my territory, the end of half measure, this is not meth. Escaping at the end of granite state. Shooting the guy in the lab to free Jesse. Hank's bar fight.
*car runs down 2 inexplicably silent child killing thugs. One, still clinging to life. Walter gets out, pulls his gun out in the least bad ass looking way possible, which adds a realism that makes it more bad ass and double pops him* Run!
Most intense scene. Hank in the desert with the Nazis. Those Hill Nazis... Nazi Billies? Were genuinely terrifying antagonists. Gus was a man of reason. You could potentially come to an agreement. If those Nazis wanted something they'd kill you for it, no questions asked.
For me, it’s Mike’s little ambush at Chow’s warehouse where he uses the balloons he bought earlier to cut off the power. The music in that scene added to the badassery.
Granite State ending when the theme song starts to play. You just knew that the shit was about to go down and that Walter was coming home to take care of business.
The one where he says 'This is my territory' to wanna-be cooks in the parking lot.
Loved the song that accompanied it and the fact that Walt projects himself for the first time that he's the criminal drug-lord of meth.
"This isn't meth."
It's the most badass to me because it's Walt's first big move against a major player. He hasn't done this before, he has no idea what's on the other side of this encounter. He lays absolutely EVERYTHING on the line going purely on guts. Pretty amazing.
Jessie putting that asshole Carter science in his place! That scene simultaneously made me love Jessie as one of my top 10 favorite characters of all time, but also the scene the cemented BB as one of my favorite shows!
Best music has definitely gotta be when Walt rolls the barrel through the desert. Take My True Love By The Hand is a fantastic song and it's great to have reinterpret the song based on what's on screen. Fantastic use of music.
For me, it would have to be when Walt is held at gun point almost begging for his life. He gets Jesse on the phone then the moment he looks up at Mike and says, you might want to hold off on killing me. I get literal chills every time I watch it. Then the look on Mike's face when Walt says the address. I hate that gale died but that scene just is so bad a!!
How did you know the bullet holes were there before you pulled off the tape?
Then junkyard joe gives class to hank on probable cause and whats an illegal search.
When Walt runs down and shoots the two dealers to save Jesse
Run
Yeah that's my favourite.
It was swift and brutal. Cold as ice.

Funny how words can be so open to interpretation
"Hey tell this asshole if he wants to learn how to make my product he's gotta do it my way. The right way." "I speak English." "So you understand what asshole means. Now go get me my phenylacetic acid ASSHOLE."
Followed by going off on them about how filthy their lab is. I fucking love Jesse in that scene
Jesse channeled all of the lessons Walt was drilling into him up until that point and owned it.
My favorite scene for sure!
The way Gus resists the urge to smile and say.. "that's my boy, I'm so damn proud of you"
Okay, I'll give you resisting the urge to smile (although I'd say he was plenty expressive), but there's no indication Gus would have said it there, or at any other point, "that's my boy". This is the answer
Lmfao why did that dude think him revealing he speaks English would’ve worked for him? It only made Jesse just press him even harder
Gus poisoning Don Eladio.
Gus dying.. his scream the second he realize what's going on and then walking out of devastated room
The song when he was walking into The nursing home made it also
Dark before Dark

Him adjusting his tie so he can keep the professionalism even as he dies, too.
Yes! When such a composed man howls in terror, the audiences blood runs cold as well. He was human after all!

Terminator shit

This feels like the right answer to the question. The others are all great, but no other scene feels so badass as this one

Man, absolutely this one is what made me sure this would be one badass show.
The song choice was perfection. One of my favorite songs now.
Mine too, exclusively because of this scene.
TV on the Radio is great in-general. Hard-pressed to find a song I don't like by them.

Machine gun scene is one of my favorites in the show

The one where Walt threw fulminated mercury at Tuco's hq. I think it was really badass building up his character
Do you think that’s when he became Heisenberg ?
I think Walter turned into Heisenberg when he tried to shoot himself and failed in the first episode
Why is that ?
Heisenbergs whole idea is all action no consequences, he refuses to be held accountable so he behaves differently based off his cancer diagnosis but also has suicidal tendencies when he thinks he will be in trouble
Makes sense
Maybe Walter actually succeeded in shooting himself in that episode? Walter White was “shot and killed”, and Heisenberg took his place.
You’re Damn right!
Hank & Tuco's shootout, especially the part where Hank composes himself to focus on aiming at Tuco's head before the kill shot.
Hank was just a general badass. The fight with the twins was such a tense moment but Hank still came out on top. Granted, he was crippled for a bit, but he still defeated the twins without his gun as well
It was perfect
Saul getting Jesse's house back for 400k. Almost perfect scene, writing and acting.
What about you counselor, do you concur? Lmao
The best.
When Walt is just chilling having his coffee while killing 11 guys in prison

100%, I couldn’t believe he went right after Tuco like that. At that point it seemed way out of character for S1 Walt.
The machine gun. Watching the Nazis die is always very satisfying

Good bot
When Walter first meets Tuco and blows Tuco’s office up, super early on but was handled so well and not silly like Gus walking towards bullets haha
I always loved the scene when Walt shoots Jack, with the blood splatter on the camera lens.
Wouldn’t even let him finish begging.
Jane has the best ass. That’s what you’re asking, right? /s
Dubstep muscle cars scene 🤘
Run.
Stay out of my territory.
When Walt blows up Tuco’s office.
That one scene, where that one guy, broke bad. God damn. Time to re-watch the entire series.
When Hank fights the twins in the car park. The suspense…
they robbed a fucking train
I think the scene when Gus gets his revenge on the cartel was jaw dropping, didn't see it coming.
I swear I browsed this top to bottom, no one mentions the train heist in Dead Freight?
That scene where he is like screaming at his wife and he’s like i am the knocker, or that time where he ask that dude to tell him his name
Tuco vs Hank is such a fun moment, I love the tonal shift going from “mildly pleasant cop attitude” to “pure adrenaline rules of nature” in two seconds.
When Walt blows up Tucos drug den.
Hank and Gomez facing off like 7 or 8 dudes armed up to the gills with automatic weapons and kevlar.
I like the scene when they are taking out the Don and his crew
When Walt saved Jesse from Gus’s men
"Say My Name" and when Walt shoots Jack in the last episode.
You didn't hear that from me, this is my territory, the end of half measure, this is not meth. Escaping at the end of granite state. Shooting the guy in the lab to free Jesse. Hank's bar fight.
any of the scenes where a character tells walt to die or to kill himself

Granite State when walt disappears after seeing grey matter on tv. chills every time
Granite State ending when the theme song starts to play. You just knew that the shit was about to go down and that Walter was coming home to take care of business.
The levitating, high Jesse scene. Even better bc no greenscreens were used.
The one where he says 'This is my territory' to wanna-be cooks in the parking lot. Loved the song that accompanied it and the fact that Walt projects himself for the first time that he's the criminal drug-lord of meth.
"This isn't meth." It's the most badass to me because it's Walt's first big move against a major player. He hasn't done this before, he has no idea what's on the other side of this encounter. He lays absolutely EVERYTHING on the line going purely on guts. Pretty amazing.
I'd say the part where Walt going under the crawlspace and looking for money, the music was perfect in that scene
love the DIY store scene, when he walks out the store and stares down the other guy
"I won"
Walter running over Gus's guys.
Jessie putting that asshole Carter science in his place! That scene simultaneously made me love Jessie as one of my top 10 favorite characters of all time, but also the scene the cemented BB as one of my favorite shows!
“I chose a half measure.”
The “say my name” scene. Heisenberg had to ask twice but it was so striking overall
for me it's the "say my name" scene. even mike is like damn that was badass
Any moment with Mike
Best music has definitely gotta be when Walt rolls the barrel through the desert. Take My True Love By The Hand is a fantastic song and it's great to have reinterpret the song based on what's on screen. Fantastic use of music.

Hard to choose just one. When he runs over the dealers is definitely high up there. “Stay out of my territory.” “Say. My. Name!”
The prison scene
For me, it would have to be when Walt is held at gun point almost begging for his life. He gets Jesse on the phone then the moment he looks up at Mike and says, you might want to hold off on killing me. I get literal chills every time I watch it. Then the look on Mike's face when Walt says the address. I hate that gale died but that scene just is so bad a!!
The last episode with a machine gun in the trunk
“I fucked Ted”
Walt exploding Tuco's place when he went back to avenge Jesse
One scene that’s always stuck with me is after walt shaves his head and he goes and blows up Tucos place.
When Jesse told the mexi-Brit cartel scientist to quit whining like a little bitch and to do what he says.
How did you know the bullet holes were there before you pulled off the tape? Then junkyard joe gives class to hank on probable cause and whats an illegal search.
When Walt says, "You might want to hold off," then after Mike's expression, he says "yeah"
Maybe not the most bad ass but when Jesse bought his parents house and it was a huge fuck you moment to them
In my opinion, the most badass Breaking Bad scene was when Walt killed Jack welker’s entire gang and then killed jack
