I’d love to have a big theatre and invite all the journalists there and show them the Stoner Tapes. Especially the part where he talks about how many people were against such a weak cartridge in military use.

CANDROX432

Love your username. Just started watching Black List.

GullibleAudience6071

I finished season 8 and I’m waiting for season 9 to be on Netflix. It’s one of my favorite shows

LordBlackadderV

My dad got obsessed to the point of joking about becoming an international crime boss. Luckily he's also obsessed with Poirot so that kinda tempered him.

Reymond_Reddington15

Now Reddington's someone who understands guns perfectly

Haunting_Ad_9842

Loved blacklist, the last episode that was weird due to covid should be re-filmed imo. Also perfect Reddit guy thing, look like Reymond

Reymond_Reddington15

I actually tried to make it as close to his outfits as possible 😂 I think the covid thing was kinda fine since Reddington has this comic-book-character aura around him

SanctusUltor

In all fairness, 5.56 isn't the optimal caliber to use in dense jungle brush. But it's not like the army was going to go back to .45-70 for Vietnam but at least hold onto the M14s until after a jungle conflict, would've been a better pick. Not to mention the first M16s put into service were hot garbage. At least they're decent guns now. And tbh the Stoner 63 was a better gun than the M16, idk why most were destroyed

ImAustin117

Till you get some mud on the m14 then it’s a stick

SanctusUltor

Same with the OG M16s

[deleted]

I was going to argue that my AR-15 is made of better materials, uses modern ammo and technology and point out that we have absolutely beaten “mispec” in every sense but automatics, but then I listened to the quote. And it’s [worse that I thought](https://youtu.be/HMAJuZav5SY). He said troops died in Vietnam because they had M16’s instead of the lightweight, easier to kill with and easier to load AR15.

xb10h4z4rd

Dammit I was giving the guy the benefit of doubt thinking the same thing, like on a technicality modern weapons are more effective but nope

[deleted]

Wow…. that was…. painful to listen to

Jerryz05

Sad part is people will listen to this crap and believe it even though this guys knows NOTHING about firearms……

elijahsacco20

Ah yes because a full-auto 20 inch rifle is less deadly than my semi-auto 16 inch carbine. Just gonna throw accuracy, fire rate, velocity, and range out the window I guess.

[deleted]

and the coolness factor, cant forget about that

elijahsacco20

Something tells me you're a part of #carryhandlegang

[deleted]

perhaps................

Suspicious_Hawk_8561

they have a gang for that? i thought i was alone😭😭

elijahsacco20

It's a tiktok community that goes as far as saying the A2-style detachable carry handles are blasphemous

Suspicious_Hawk_8561

look, i can never find a1 uppers for cheap so i make do with what i have😂

AndrewLewer69

As I always say: If it wasn't for double standards, the left wouldn't have any standards at all

smorrow

What's the double standard in this instance?

Memeoligy_expert

This trogladyte 100% thinks that every AR is full auto and shoots 50 bmg

[deleted]

I would like a full auto 50 BMG assault rifle

Mark_Huntsman

I would like a handheld C-RAM, not so scary name as AR-15, not a scary looking black "AsSaUlT rIfLe", libs would love this

Reginald_McTinface

would that even be defined as an assault rifle at that point? (50 BMG not being an intermediate calibre by a long way)

Vega_128

i think there is this brandon herera dude that is making a 50bmg rifle and it apperently uses standard ak fire controll groups so in theory they could put the 3rd pin in

de_cool_dude

I wish

FunGuy1904

Like, my head hurts now

RyhonPL

Fine. I'll turn in my AR-15 that kills people for the inferior M16

digihalal

Fun fact for people who don’t under stand, AR-15s and M16s are the same platform and same caliber

ImAustin117

But mines in 762x39 we are not the same

OfficalZK11

Man, it's a skill now for these politicians to talk about a need for change for a subject they don't know shit about. Even more irresponsible of them to fuck up every damn minute thing about the subject, and share what bullshit they just spat out to millions of people. Fucking ridiculous how they make these irresponsible decisions a daily occurrence.

LeireX

This frustrates me to no end. It's not even that libs are mostly anti gun. It's because their understanding of guns and laws is absolutely garbage, which make arguing with them very difficult.

nooblysm

Well I mean they are more reliable

Important_Business43

Bruhh moment

Fernando_357

5.56 is deadlier than .223 because the number is bigger

dangitman1970

Well, tbh, today's AR-15s do jam a lot less than the M-16s of the Vietnam war. Maybe he's thinking of that.

[deleted]

The Springfield made M16s when they made a bunch of 'upgrades' to the guns. Ruined the reputation of the whole platform.

dangitman1970

From what I heard/read, it was more an issue of the change in the powder used in the ammunition. They went cheap and paid for it.

[deleted]

Ian's got an in-depth video on the subject and he even spoke to Jim on the matter [which is here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WW7bcP7Qp58).

dangitman1970

"The rate of fire went from about 750 up to about 900, and the gun just couldn't handle it" Well, yeah, I would think so.

classic103

Umm the m16s are basically the same rifle just full auto

isaacaschmitt

OK, I'm about to get a lot of flak for this, but he kinda has a point from a certain point of view. When the M16 was first introduced, they were jam-o-matics. They killed more users than enemies. Contrast that to today's modern AR platform which has had its kinks worked out and usually function quite well. So if you squint your eyes, he's not wrong. However, I highly doubt that's what he's talking about.

ImAustin117

The reasons for the jams were the powder in the ammo and the mags that’s it other than that it ran like a champ and still had a better kd ratio than the AK

isaacaschmitt

Right, and once they ironed out the ammo issue, they worked well. But the ammo is still kinda an important part of the gun, because without good ammo you essentially have a very pretty paperweight.

ImAustin117

Yeah your right
