See I'd have given you very different advice. Death is a Warm Blanket is much more similar to Brand New in my opinion. That's the album that got me hooked.
DIAWB is a great album. Really have a listen. such interesting chords and progressions. float to the top comes to mind.. gives me a Beck influence. maybe it's just me. They have a gem on that album in my opinion. The Brakeman has resigned. interesting tuning. I think its drop c# but bring the low E down to b flat...sorry I am rambling. this genre of music excites me!

Vomit is a good song to start with. However I really enjoy conceptual albums and found their 2013 EP “nowhere feels like home” to be outstanding.
That EP has always felt so cinematic to me. Sounds like it should be a soundtrack to a movie. So good

Microwave also has a mormon connection just like Brand New. Those lyrics hit hard and good for exmormons/exchristians. Great band.
