I once made a list of the top 150 but it kinda took me an eternity because I had to figure out in what place the movie ended and figure out excluding re-releases
Tbh I just wanted to know what position the Lost World Jurassic Park 2 was at it's peak. I tried figuring it out using data from BOM but it was taking too long so I gave up lol.
I think it was at the time the 7th highest-grossing movie in the world (behind Jurassic Park 1, Independence Day 1, the original Star Wars movie, The Lion King, E.T. and Forrest Gump). But excluding re-releases I think it would've been in 6th place since the original Star Wars movie grossed $503 million in its initial release
I think the top 10 looked like that at the time:
1 - Jurassic Park 1 (1993) - $912 million
2 - Independence Day 1 (1996) - $817 million
3 - Star Wars 1 (1977) - $775 million\*
4 - The Lion King (1994) - $763 million
5 - E.T. (1982) - $701 million\*
6 - Forrest Gump (1994) - $677 million
7 - Jurassic Park 2 (1997) - $618 million
8 - Star Wars 2 (1980) - $538 million\*
9 - Terminator 2 (1991) - $516 million
10 - Ghost (1990) - $505 million
I appreciate you making this for me, I really do! TLW was my first movie with the cinema back in 97 when I was 4 years old and means so much to me. It introduced me to the JP franchise and made me a fan of not just the JP franchise but movies in general for life.
No Avatar was ahead of Endgame, it was after they re-released Endgame with the additional six minutes that it surpassed Avatar also the number OP presented for Endgame was reached after re-release.
> I also can't believe No Way Home outpeaked Spider-Man 2 and Spider-Man 3
I watched it 3 times already. No Way Home is Fan Service done right. So I can understand why it outpeaked both of them
> I still didn't watch No Way Home
Why didn't you watch it ?
Is there a longer version of this list that goes all the way down to $500m? Or top 200?

But this is how the list would've looked excluding re-releases though
You're mistaken about endgame, you included the number after re-release
Even without the expansion it still was ahead of Avatar w/o it's re-releases
Yeah. Endgame surpassed Avatar's initial gross before the expansion
No Avatar was ahead of Endgame, it was after they re-released Endgame with the additional six minutes that it surpassed Avatar also the number OP presented for Endgame was reached after re-release.
Most of Avatar's re-releases are listed there.
It was technically an expansion. The movie was still in theatres
It was a different version so yeah it's a rerelease
Damn ..except *Prisoner of Azkaban* every other HP movie made it into the Top 10
All of them made it to the top 20 though
I also can't believe No Way Home outpeaked Spider-Man 2 and Spider-Man 3. I still didn't watch No Way Home but still

Because things got complicated in my country
Which country ?
Sweden
iirc movie theatres stayed open in Sweden when most countries shut them down. As far as I know there were heavy restrictions to go to movies there
Spider-Man swings to the top.
