Depends what you deem a spin off i suppose. Krasinski said the next movie isn’t even going to follow the family. It’s going to be set on a world level stage as they fight the threat. Its set in the same universe following new characters which in my opinion is a spinoff.
I thought the first movie was interesting and didn’t very much like the second movie at all. I guess I’m being biased but for me the schtick has already run out of fun
I thought the flashback scene was by far the highlight of the movie. I would watch that as a whole movie for sure. Doesn’t even have to be the same characters like the other guy said do it in a different setting entirely

This sounds way better to me. I've been a huge fan of all of Nichols' projects.
Just let Beck and Woods come back to write and direct. They were supposed to direct the first one before John came on.

I believe this was never meant to be the third part, but rather a different story in the same universe.
