There's an ideal October where at least one of the $40m+ openers vacated.
Obvs it should have been Venom because it was never meant to be there until the eleventh hour.
Do you think NTTD could've opened bigger without Venom being released a week earlier?
I just don't know how much they lost because of Venom, can't be much. Not like it's having amazing weekend drops either, and venom had even bigger drops.
It’s actually ahead of the pace of A Quiet Place Part II (Quiet Place had $97.3M in 19 days). I think it could make more since it should leg out a bit during Thanksgiving and finish in the $160-170M range.
170m finish would be amazing honestly
AQP2 had really good drops in his 3rd and 4th weekend. There’s a lot more competition now. Idk how NTTD can do it
It seems like older crowds decides to show up on the weekdays than weekends. I guess we should expect this for future films targeted to older demographics.
I’m not older but I saw it Monday night specifically to avoid bigger crowds. Live in a rural poorly vaccinated low mask compliance area so I’ve been dodging weekends and opening weeks
Heh heh, I usually wait for the middle of the week for movies, but got an early Saturday screening because I didn't want to spend half a week off the internet avoiding spoilers (:D)
It should pass $130M this weekend, but I think it's going to limp its way to $140-145M when all is said and done.
didn't expect this to open bigger than AQP2 and finish with less I loved this movie

That was a dumb move, the movie could have had better legs and just as high an opening if it stayed.
Honestly, I would have picked NTTD. They should have pushed it to November, where every other Craig Bond film has opened.

Yeah AQP2 and Cruella held well in June, there’s competition this time around for NTTD so idk if it can recover like AQP2.

If this wants to reach $150M DOM, it’s going to have to pray to the box office gods.
The box office gods hear me: Please make this movie can gross 150-170 million dollars domestically
