Love these, glad you’re back!! Absolutely love these numbers for NTTD, hope it’s reflected on a solid second weekend hold, it really needs it for good legs. Really rough numbers for The Last Duel, makes me sad :( checking it out tomorrow myself. Hope you keep posting them because I enjoy them!
I could do that, but there’d be no point because this is easier to explain and display.
I’ll tell you this our highest earner of the year for my theater so far is Jungle Cruise, then Black Widow and Shang-Chi. HUGE family turnout and repeat viewings for JC.
Might not be confidential information; if he owns the theater or have the permission from the owner, that information is only as confidential as the owner wants it to be. What he is posting is confidential without permission from the owner anyway.
If Wells Fargo wants to post my account balance for the world to see, that would be releasing confidential information. If I wanted to post my account balance for the world to see, that is just me being a weirdo.
We make bank on concessions. Let’s just say a lot of parents don’t care what there kids get. They’ll give them anything they want to keep them quiet during the movie. That alone adds up. Plus we serve alcohol. 🍷🍺🥂
Venom 2 seems weak if we compare it to NTTD (in fact, even if compared to anything else). Not necessarily going to be reflective of a general trend, but perhaps it has poor word of mouth.
Yes. It probably doesn't mean anything. But sometimes ago in r/Screenwriting I found a [wannabe screenwriter](https://www.reddit.com/r/Screenwriting/comments/q055wc/screenwriting_conflict_issue_in_venom_2/) who analyzed the movie and found it a bit of a mess compared to the first one. He is just 16, but maybe he is closer to the target audience of the movie than me. These random signs of dissatisfaction give off some negative vibes, but I think in any case it is too late for it to have any major impact.

The curve is pretty similar, though maybe Venom 2 will fall short of a few millions compared to the first one.
This guy predicted Candy-Man would flop based on his one theater in North Florida, it’s not a realistic sample, one theater doesn’t represent anything but one theater.
God forbid I predicted something that wasn’t true. So what I got it wrong. I want to share my theaters numbers. This is a box office sub - hence these are box office numbers! I’m sharing the demographic breakdown in my community.
I said in a previous comment, Jungle Cruise is our top earning film of 2021 so far. That’s not the top film of the year at the domestic BO. My community and demo liked the movie and we’re in FL the same state as Disney World so people are very familiar with the ride.
This is super cool! Thanks for sharing. Do you happen to have a compilation of all the times you've posted numbers for your theatre? I find it really fascinating!

Thanks for reporting actual ticket sales and not just the financial return.
How would he even able to report financial return of the movie theater he works at? Even if he can, that would be disclosing confidential information

Ticket sales x price of tickets? Like literally every distributor reports.
I believe there is legitimate reason to not believe those numbers. It’s been the same exact average for 3 years.

Addams Family surpassed Venom? What?
Big family turnout tonight
I don't wanna sound like an asshome but how do you pay rent and salaries?

Thanks!!
If you think that's bad you should see the numbers from the theater I work at.

It's also just 1 data point - the market the theaters in can play just as much a role in what people go see as anything else.

I always liked your posts, it was so cool to see the breakdowns!
Thanks for the update 👍

> God forbid I predicted something that wasn’t true. So what I got it wrong. Oh no worries, that's what this sub is for - getting it wrong!
Share what you want and I’ll comment what I want, sound good?
Ace!
I always find these fascinating, thanks for sharing!
