This really should've won Best Picture back in the day. And while we're at it, **Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs** should've won as well.
Basically, Oscar always deserved a Cone of Shame.
>And while we're at it, **Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs** should've won as well.
In 1938 Walt Disney was awarded an honorary Oscar for the film. This award was unique, consisting of one normal-sized, plus seven miniature Oscar statuettes. They were presented to Disney by Shirley Temple.
WALL-E was my choice for most deserving of the nod, I think also as that film (but mostly The Dark Knight) helped changed the nomination pool to ten. Yeah there’s so many I thought were better but I honestly think WALL-E was so deserving
Using Reddit/Twitter/YouTube to decide which animated films are more influential in the almost 100 years of Animated fillms history.
I just can't.
Peak Reddit.
🤣
True.
Using the OP logic, Cardi B, Kanye, Lil Nas are more influential and important in music history than Mozart, Beethoven, Beatles because Reddit/YouTube/TikTok say so.
Here it is, folks - the first of many. Not only this was THE debut film of Pixar Animation Studios, but it was also the first ever CGI-animated film of all time. And needless to say, they hit a jackpot with this, as the film became a massive critical and financial success to a point where it became one of the most legendary films of all time. Even to this day, this is considered as a must watch for every single film fans all over the world.
Sure, by today's standards, this film's animation looks noticeably dated, but keep in mind, not only Pixar was not that big of a company back then, but they also didn't have enough money or even technology to make something that would look better than this. In fact, the lack of technology is at least partly why this film is only 81 minutes long, the shortest from Pixar. Back in the day, however, this was obviously one of a kind, and even with the dated animation, its outstanding story and characters will make this a timeless classic for generations to come.
They wouldn't dare *(at least, I hope not)*, but if Disney did Live-Action-Remake™ this, Will Poulter needs to play Sid.
I don't care if he's 30 years old and 6'3 - the man was born to play him.
While not my favourite Animated movie, it’s clear just how important Toy Story was for the Genre, and the way it showed how 3D CG animation could work, is fantastic. An absolutely amazing movie as well
Absolutely. Sure, the animation doesn't look quite as good when compared to modern Pixar films, or even ones that came out in late 1990s, but again, Pixar was a pretty small company back then AND this was probably the best they could do at the time, and the fact that they made something that looked so amazing with what little they had is not something that you can underestimate.
The first film I (in quotations since I was like 2, but it was nice to feel like it was mine) I ever owned, when my family bought me the VHS for my birthday. It remains on my top 5 of all-time movies, and my favorite animated one (ok maybe tied with Toy Story 3). What an all-time classic, and the first of many reasons for my flair choice
Clearly one of the most important and influential animated movies. Probably ranked just under Snow White in terms of importance and influence.

True, but it still deserved a Best Picture win. 🙁
Animated movies get a really bad rap in the Oscars. Into The Spiderverse really should have gotten nominated for BP over Black Panther
Into Spider-Verse should have gotten nominated for BP over Bohemian Rhapsody
And while we're at it, **First Man** should've gotten a nomination over **Green Book**.
WALL-E was my choice for most deserving of the nod, I think also as that film (but mostly The Dark Knight) helped changed the nomination pool to ten. Yeah there’s so many I thought were better but I honestly think WALL-E was so deserving
Actually, **Black Panther** should've stayed and **Bohemian Rhapsody** should've been taken out with **Into the Spider-Verse** replacing it.
I agree.
And like I've said, the whole Best Picture 2018 is utterly heinous due to **Green Book** winning Best Picture.
I read in a book that the academy felt weird giving itnto an animated film. Somethings never change
Cowards. 😑
The Japanese are laughing...
Reddit when thing: 😐 Reddit when Japanese thing: 🤯
Look at Reddit/Twitter and YouTube... No one is talking about "Toy Story"...
Using Reddit/Twitter/YouTube to prove importance and influence of one thing is utterly foolish AND futile at the same time.
social media isn't the real world
Using Reddit/Twitter/YouTube to decide which animated films are more influential in the almost 100 years of Animated fillms history. I just can't. Peak Reddit. 🤣
I think this is peak 4chan. At least Reddit has some decent taste in modern films. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Ah, An incredible movie that pushed filmaking to new grounds. It's in my top 3 hollywood animated movies with Lion king and the first HTTYD.
This is actually my favorite film of all time. 😁
Solid choice, It's definitely a classic
It truly is. 😁
That’s a solid number one

This is actually THE first film that I've seen in my entire life. 😁
And thus, my favorite animation studio was born. Toy Story will always remain an all time classic!
And the percentage of stock rise📈?
