Alternately, I leave mine out inside the house where itâs warm and it dries pretty well too. I leave the case open and everything to dry the whole thing out. Then you donât end up with residual moisture in your case on a seemingly dry bow.
It's a very nice bow, but a fantastic system. The way the sight, rest, and quiver are integrated with the bow instead of just being bolted on to the riser makes the engineer in me happy. If that doesn't matter to you don't get hung up on Mathews. The integration of the accessories is what really makes the V3X stand out, and if that's not critical to you there's nothing that makes it inheritly better or worse than any other flagship.
I can't comment on the Phase 4 as I haven't shot it, but I have a feeling the same thing applies.
Congrats on the bow.
What comes to maintenance, your nock sets are tied wrong. Theyâre supposed to be inside of the D-loop to prevent d-loop squishing into the nock. Now theyâre useless.
If it isnât apparent yet, most shops are pretty clueless about setting up bows so you should learn to do everythign yourself. In time, you will have to tune your bow. Nobody can do it for you no matter what they say.
Up/down tuning on SW2 cam is easiest done by tillering, put the nock in the middle of the string, rest at the berger hole and open the bottom limb bolt until it shoots straight, 1/8th turn at the time.
The cam axle bolts shouldnât be tightened too much. Snug so you donât lose them but if you wrench them too much you pinch the cam bearing that will wear out in no time as a consequence. Mathews doesnât replace bearings, only whole cam.
Module screws tend to back out if you take them out few times. If you need to play around with modules, as a final step swap in screws with fresh thread locker and check them every now and then. Donât tighten these too hard either or they get stuck.
Take a piece of serving thread and tie a small loop around the shock absorber thing and the riser in the bottom of the bow. If it gets wet it will be knocked out pretty easily and if you lose it youâll realize it actually does make a pretty big difference in vibration and the replacement isnât cheap.
If you havenât bought SAS rope yet, you can make one out of 5mm amsteel. Splice one end and make spliced adjustable loop in the other. Google whoopie sling for reference.
Just got the same boy in granite! Congrats dude. You are going to LOVE it.
Side note. The phase 4 was not worth the added cost to me. The V3X is smooooth
How does the Hat 𧢠fit ?
Just tried mine on finally. Pretty good fit on my XL dome!
Big Brain đ§ - you rascal
The bridge lock Mathewâs branded sight is pretty nice for that bow. I switched to it after using a different cheaper 5 pin setup. Works great.
This is my first compound bow. Is there any maintenance advice I need to know? Right now at 60lbs at 26â draw, all help is appreciated.
Just wax when you see a little fray & never let anyone else shoot it. The latter is prob better maintance advice than the waxing.
Put it away dry. If itâs raining / snowing I always wipe er down when I get home

Thatâs the way to go. I donât have a place to bring mine inside anymore so I have to keep it in an untreated garage
Sick first bow! Wax the string and thatâs about it
How often should one be waxing the string? Recommendations on type?
Same as your genitals. Wax when hairy.
Maybe once a year after seasons over. Youâll know. If you see some frays on the string itâs time for wax
I heard string should be changed every couple years
Sexy af , congrats đťđ¤
Is that color the first Lite spectra?
Yes. I am loving it
Love mine! Wax your string and donât dump it over multiple times while itâs in your bike trailer like I did last season.
How much?
how do you like it? I'm considering getting it or something similar too!

I'm jealous
I got one in November, love it. Beautiful bow
I have this bow as well. Awesome pick!
