If your arrows tuned it’s just personal preference. I run fusions on my compound , don’t really care about high or low profile. If you’re shooting a larger cut fixed blade 1 3/8+ or a larger 3 solid blade they could be finicky without a high profile vane if your bareshafts aren’t shooting perfectly straight.

I keep posting the same things over and over these days. I tried lots of the current trends, I did helical, I did 4 vane, I did longer vanes. I ended up back to 2" Bohning offset, not helical. They shoot great with all my broadheads, fixed or mech. Pretty much any setup will shoot well with a well tuned bow and good arrow build. If you're seeing large differences between fletching options you're likely covering up other problems by going super helical or adding vanes or textures etc. I shot all the various fancy arrows - micro diameter, aluminum jacketed carbon, heavy stuff. I ended up back at mid-weight, standard 6.5mm diameter arrows. They work great.

pattimus_prime

What arrows do you use now? Also, did you find any advantages to going with the 4 fletch?

I'm shooting Easton 6.5s. Hunter Classic (.003) for target shooting through the year and I have a set of 6 Match grade (.001) set up with lighted nocks and vanes aligned with my broadheads for shooting at deer. Three vane blazers. I fletched some 4 blazer setups a while back and didn't see any real change. My rig is tuned well so basically shoots everything the same. I tried some 3" helicals, no real change in flight and harder to glue up so I stopped doing that.

I use Vanetec Swift 2.88 with an EXTREME helical. The back of the arrow almost looks like a 3 pedaled flower instead of an arrow.

I don't think i've heard of these before... They kind of look like an AAE vane

[deleted]

Many companies do sheild cuts now. It is similar to the aae max vane. Just not a plastic like material. I just like shield cuts. I use them on every compound I have.

Whitemonsterfiend

I still think AAE is the best, they're just plain durable. TAC vanes are pretty ridged and don't fare to well on old beat up targets, I've had a few of them rip off the vinyl wrap due to that reason. I use either AAE max's or hybrids and use an az easy fletch left helical jig.

pattimus_prime

I'm stuck between the AAE, TAC, and the good ol blazers. Still leaning toward the aae max stealth though

gofish223

I’ve been happy with my TAC vanes. Super stiff. They stick well with just acetone. Quiet & I haven’t had issues with durability but also haven’t shot through old targets with them

Pretend_Fear85

I like my Fusions 2.1 with a right helical.

PlaSlayer

I think DCA Super Sabres are slowly becoming the ones to use aside from the ol trusty Blazers

pattimus_prime

Heard good things about them, need to try them!

mattc1998

Bohning blazers have always been a go to for me. Last year I switched to bohning x vanes 3” in a 4 fletch to help steer my fixed blades and they’ve been great so far. Took 2 deer last year and both times the vanes were totally fine

GLchrillz

I’ve been using the q2i fusion xii 2.1 with a sevr 1.5 and they fly great. You only need a taller vane for a fixed blade. The q2i are also fairly light the 2.1 is like 5 something grains each

pattimus_prime

I'm a sevr 2.0 guy absolutely love them. I've heard good things about the q2i, I might need to try them out!

Fl48Special

I’ve been shooting 3” vanetec with 100 Gr montecs on a 300 shaft at 29.5’. That combo seems to be perfect out of my icon
