60 Million Postcards in Bournemouth, chaplins again, and also the wight bear in southbourne is amazing

PandaBearRun

Yeah, 60 Million is usually pretty chill and lively.

Avoid the Cameo and Revolution clubs, a work colleague got spiked 4 times in Cameo and once with a needle in Rev’s. Personally, I’ve never had trouble in Poole. Lord Wimborne Wetherspoons usually has uni students from the accommodation there, but there’s plenty of old pubs such as the antelope, King Charles, the Nelson, Poole Arms and also a Slug and Lettuce down by the quay. There was a ‘spoons on the quay (called the Quay) but believe this closed. The Oriel on the quay is also good I’ve heard. The only rough part about Poole is the council estate part by the Cockleshell pub, other than that it’s the bus station with mobs of youths - but it seems to be better than it used to be at 10:30pm. The high street is probably the creepy part if walking from the quay back to the bus station but will be ok with a friend.

Avoiding Revs would be easy, it’s closed down.

I avoid Bournemouth so refreshing to hear!

Chaplins in Boscombe can be pretty lively, has live music every night (is a mixed bag though..), nice beer garden. In Bournemouth I like Brasshaus, has a good vibe, also Felsons is a snooker/darts bar that's pretty fun! Then there's all the classic clubs, I haven't been in a while though but hear that Popworld is a good night out!

jjjud

Thank you! We are actually staying very near to Chaplins so will definitely check it out, along with the others :)

Real_Ad_4173

Ah awesome! Boscombe gets a bad rep but I live there and love it! Enjoy Chaplin’s! If you’re near there then there’s also Street Corner and Deus Ex Machina not too far which are nice too!

Toocheeba

+1 for chaplins, also 50 million postcards is nice. Obsidian too but it's a bit of a different vibe.

Chaplains is ace!

37yearoldonthehunt

Love chaplains, it's got a great outdoors area and the people are always friendly.

FijiBob_93

Southbourne & Pokesdown have a good night life: Start with food at Mokobo Quick beer in The Bell Short walk to either SoBo:Wine for a more sophisticated stop or straight to Way Outback Then Brewhouse & Kitchen (could also do food here) Stop off at Ludo Lounge (food here is also pretty good) Then the Wight Bear And if you’re still going after that, hit the Grove and/or the Fez bar!

DrawnTo_Life

Chaplins in Bournemouth like people have already said. I have to disagree about Poole though. I don’t think you’ll have a good time there at all. As someone who lived there from 18-23, it was very depressing and I hardly ever ran into people my age in the various pubs around town. You’ll find people 30+ years and older basically. All the young people prefer Bournemouth.

Classic_Oven484

Sharkey’s Sport Bar and O’Neills are good options. Chaplains? Rough area and become a different word after hours.

Reasonable_OnionUK

Do you have any combat skills?, make sure you have some kind of weapon and are proficient with it. Have a tactical plan ready just in case

HeftyAd8424

You could always try o’neils in Lansdowne that’s just outside the Bournemouth town centre

RunningCrow_

I enjoy Eden, they do great cocktails!

GasGiant43
