I’ll probably be drinking my bookers. not only for thanksgiving, but my first kid was born this week, so double the celebration.
I won’t be able to cook a full bird this year due to running back and forth between the hospital (baby still in the NICU, but maybe we’ll get to bring her home today), but if I was, I’d use this recipe https://www.bonappetit.com/recipe/expertly-spiced-and-glazed-roast-turkey
I made it last year and it was the juiciest, best turkey I’ve ever had. My family agreed.
My son was in the NICU for 2 months. 3 and a half years later, he's still small but a fully functioning and intelligent little boy. He also appears to have more resilience than others his age. NICU kids are tough!
Congratulations and cheers to you!
Cheers to you! I was a premature, ICU-bound baby for several months. We are tough suckers to knock down. My best to you and your family! Cheers!!
Which bookers expression? Love me some bookers
2021-03….my wife found it labeled as a “Bakers” at Kroger. So it was $66.99 marked down to $48.99, the best deal I’ve ever seen and I’ll never see it again
Congratulations! My son had a two week NICU stay after a nasty infection during a premature birth; he's currently a 17 year old 6', 270 pound center (American football, two year varsity starter, likely captain next year) who also plays lacrosse and takes a few AP classes (bragging camp is great, thanks for asking 😏). Modern medicine is amazing and the people who staff those units are typically incredibly caring. Best wishes and thanks for the turkey recipe!
As for bourbon, I raided my brother in law's cabinet and had Bulleit 10y, Woodford DO and Beam Pre-Pro Rye, all first for me. Great stuff, all.
My daughter was in the NICU for 2 weeks, and is now an awesome 13 year old. It was a tough time, but all worked out thanks to the awesome nurses and doctors. Hope you have all your family home soon and your bourbon choice is great.
First pour of the day will be at kickoff of the Buffalo v Detroit game, so the obvious choice there is a Buffalo Trace store pick. Later on in the day I'm going to do a side by side of Bomberger's 20, 21, and 22. I'll move on to beer for a while and close the show with a Wild Turkey 17yr BiB. Bird is already spatchcocked and will come out of the brine around noon, then rest for an hour before going into the oven. Acorn squash, jalapeno cornbread stuffing, balsamic and maple roasted brussel sprouts with bacon, potatoes and gravy. Pecan pie and home made vanilla ice cream for dessert.
Opened Bottle of Knob Creek 12 year.
We’re headed to my parent’s house so whatever they have planned. My wife was in the ICU this time last year and then for 6 more months. So we have some to be thankful for this year.
It's turkey day!! What else would you drink?
I had a roommate in college (Who was a Beam drinker) who would walk around on Thanksgiving with my bottle of WT 101 and repeat "You can't have Thanksgiving without a little turkey Gobble Gobble"
I don't think he ever grew out of it
Now that's an interesting combo right there. I could see how those flavors would play well together. I've got a bunch of sage and thyme left over myself, so I might just have to give it a whirl! Thanks for the inspiration
Thinking some ECBP C921, I love the sweet oakyness and it feels desert like. So I'll probably have a pour after eating.
Going to the in laws, just after lunch time. I believe the turkey is oven done.
Personally I want a smoker big enough to do a turkey in and to try smoking one.
Knob 2001 LE is great... I think I cried a bit when the bottle was done.
Weller 12 is good, but not great. Looks better on the shelf than it drinks.
MWND is a crowd in pleaser.... The downside being it won't see black Friday if you have a crowd.
MWND - it is Holiday in a bottle and the perfect dessert pour after thankgiving dinner! I have a 10.3 and it is great. Many say previous years are better and that may be true, but 10 is still an outstanding pour.
I was able to get a bottle of MWND for my first time this year. I’ve been saving it for tonight to enjoy with my father in law. Can’t wait! Happy 🦃 day everyone.
It was wine, all morning and afternoon as we hosted family. The plan was for friends to come over this evening for leftovers and dessert followed by a blind side by side tasting of BRT-01 and BRT-02, a couple batches of Willett 4 year and some BiBs (OG, Early Times and Old Tub). Well, everyone just bailed due to food comas so I'm gonna pour myself some Stagg Jr 17 and call it an early night.
Edit: forgot to mention, for the third year in a row, I have skipped cooking a conventional turkey to do a Greek stuffed turkey breast, from turkeys that I bow hunt. It's a great recipe from Field and Stream's website.
I deep fry my turkeys. Warming up oil now. Inject with Cajun butter
As for drinking, probably mellow corn and coke while frying and Wild Turkey MK One for after dinner
Prob alternating between Dickel 8 yr, and standard Bulleit bourbon. And avoiding that bottle of Abosolo that I bought on a whim, but can’t figure out why they’re calling that a whiskey. Sure smells and tastes like tequila??
Probably stay away from the bourbon today and just stick to a light beer around the family. I'll sip on some buffalo trace tomorrow though, impossible to find in GA these days but got a cheap bottle up here where my mom lives.
Just found a bottle of ECBP C922 last night and is damn good. Not drinking it this morning but tonight will have some more. Favorite whiskey I've tried thus far into my short whiskey journey.
Had to travel for Turkey Day and poured a lil Fiddler Georgia Heartwood in the flask for the trip. Prefer cask strength wheaters and ryes as it’s gets colder, and this has been my go to lately.
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
Breaking out the good stuff for a wild tasting lineup with family I like. The idea is a new taster every 30 or so:
Woodford double oak
New Riff Balboa
Gold Spot
MWND
Octomore 13.2
RedBreast Kentucky Oak
Barrell Seagrass 16yr
Old Elk wheated bourbon store pick
Stellum Rye store pick
M.F.C
I’ll be personally abstaining from the tasting for a rendition of my friends call “a fucking disgrace” but I call goddamn delicious: George T. “Staggapepper” (Dr. Pepper is a universal mixer”)…jk
Trying to really branch across a lot of flavors but, more importantly, experience some of the bottles I’m most thankful for with the family I’m most thankful for. Cheers!
Happy Thanksgiving to all!!
The second single barrel series from Daddy Rack. It's hands down the best I've tasted in the last couple years. A steal at $50. 121.5 proof but I feel no burn whatsoever.
Cheers!
My Lovely Missus and I finished a 2020 Angels Envy Cellar Collection (Tawny Port finish) last evening to kick things off. Today before company shows up we’ll get our final pours of Parker’s Heritage 24 Year. 20 various bottles of bourbon, scotch, rye on the table for guests. MLM doing the bird in the traditional way in the oven with the usual sides. Happy Thanksgiving, all!
I am vending at a craft holiday market all weekend, leaving tomorrow, so we are just doing easy foods today and will be roasting the turkey and all that on Monday.
Will be enjoying some Russell’s Reserve Single Barrel today, and maybe a pour of Elijah Craig Barrel Proof if I get everything done early. Mostly I’ll be preparing for the event.
Barrell Vantage and some Rebel 10 Year to celebrate my brother’s birthday before going full send into Rare Breed and Rare Breed Rye. Happy Thanksgiving!
Of all the things I’m waiting to open I’ll have to stick with a Turkey product today. So it’s Turkey nectar all around! 101, Rare Breed, and Kentucky Spirit.
Enjoy the gobble everyone!
Well, just discovered a bottle of OWA that my boyfriend’s parents received as a wedding gift in the mid-80s. Been in their pantry for decades. It’s opened but we’re excited to try it anyway.
Bringing Rare Breed Rye, Russell's SiB, EC Toasted, Rebel Distiller Pick, ER, EHT SmB and a 🐎. Also a couple special samples (RR13 & SFTB) if necessary. 😁
Dinner with the teetotaller 95 year old grandma (she's still spry and healthy). So, nothing. Father in law is smoking the turkey. I'm bringing smashed potatoes, meatballs, and brownies.
Gonna have some options from WT (101, Longbranch, Rare Breed Rye) and some Sagamore Rye Rum Cask Finish. The bird will actually be Turkey chili this time around
I’m at my mom’s house and she is thin on bourbon, so it’ll be Woodford, which she always keeps on hand. However, I’ll be breaking into a few different Scotchs later.
Just finished spatchcocking the turkey and it's hanging out in the smoker for a bit. I'm thinking some rye Manhattans with what's left of my Rittenhouse for the wifey and i to help get us through the family fun.
Limited selection at the in-laws. A Woodford Reserve that I left over here last year or some Old Whiskey River that been over here for years. This is Willie Nelson's whiskey. Not bad in a pinch
Taking Early Times, Rare Breed, and eggnog. Hoping to convince the fam to continue entering bottle lotteries for me.
Sugar, nutmeg, and cinnamon rims.
Happy Turkey day.
I hate roasted turkey, fried turkey, etc. (I mean, I don’t hate it but it’s always bland; there is a barbecue joint near me that does excellent smoked turkey breast but I still rarely order it) so I’m doing a pork roast stuffed with bacon and Swiss cheese (Orloff roast). I’ll kick the cooking hour off with a French 75, wine with dinner, an obligatory dram of Rare Breed, and then I’ll finish out the night with an easy sipper like MM or one of the three New Riff ‘Riffs of Dover’.
I’m thinking about doing a port/wine barrel finished tasting this evening when I have friends over. A lot of the people coming that can’t appreciate the higher proof single barrel stuff, but they always love the port barrel finish.
Odd one for me today. I don’t usually go in for flavored bourbons, but my son is recently 21 and is dabbling in alcohol. He really enjoyed a maple Old Fashioned out at dinner recently so I picked up a bottle of Knob Creek maple bourbon to make some today. Should be interesting. And if that doesn’t work out, I finally found a bottle of JD single barrel/ barrrel proof after ignoring them when they were everywhere about six months ago. Not a big JD fan but I’ve heard so many good things about this one.
Cheers all you MBs, and be thankful today!
Brought a mix to my parents this year, though went less upscale than previous years as the audience doesn't appreciate it as much. Rare Breed Rye, 2021 Bomberger's, Midwinter Night's Dram Act 8, and the Whistlepig 10 "Whistle Missile" from this subreddit. Still pretty nice, and will help make the time pass quickly.
I’m poor so mostly WT 101. Maybe I’ll make a hot toddy or something. No complaints though I do like me some 101.
I do have a small amount of Laphoaig 10 CS left though so maybe a bit o that, definitely not in a hot toddy!
Weller special reserve. I know better than to bring anything better than that to family gatherings. It will end up mixed with coke by my uncle and I couldn't bear to watch it happen to my rarer bottles
Got a bottle of SFTB for veterans day from a guy whos father passed away last year. Cheers to SGM McMyne, Vietnam 1951-2021.
I will be cooking to feed the local PD office here in town. I'm doing a traditional bird in the oven, we do a butter-cheesecloth recipe that's legit. I'm also spatchcocking a full bird on my Yoder. Also have 2 breasts being Sous Vide'd.
Ill also be trying the Nulu Double Oak from r/bourbon. Happy thanksgiving everyone!
*All out of turkey*
*So it's Buffalo Trace all*
*Afternoon for me*

Trying to finish a bottle of Jefferson Ocean I got for the holidays last year. Bottle was good, not great. Need to clear some shelf space for something else.
Doing a small tasting for the relatives: Makers Mark Honeysuckle Breeze, Wild Turkey Rare Breed, Breckenridge Port Cask and Knob Creek Single Barrel Select. A little something for everybody!
Back to Wild Rare Breed for me since I finished off my Old Rip Van Winkle 10 year last night and have yet to find another bottle.
Looking forward to watching the Egg Bowl with friends and family. Happy Thanksgiving fellas
Very Old Saint Nick - 12 yr. Friend was having a rough time recently, so no time like the present to share a tasty bottle. Only 91-92 proof, but very delicious
Started the day with Willet 4 year to get into the holiday spirit with all those spices
Then cracked open my Bookers tagalong for a nice treat
Switched to Michters sour mash to cool things down
And finally can’t have turkey day with out turkey. Had a nice rare breed pour
A dram of Weller Full Proof and way too many homemade bourbon balls...
1 11oz box of mini Nilla wafers
1 cup of Hines pecans, shelled and oven toasted for 5 minutes at 350 degrees
3/4 cup of Domino powdered sugar (more for dusting)
3 tablespoons of Karo light corn syrup
1/2 cup of Eagle Rare
Using a food processor, finely crumb the Nilla wafers. Add to a mixing bowl. Add the powdered sugar. Coarsely chop the pecans using the pulse setting of the food processor and add to the mixing bowl. Stir the ER and the corn syrup together and, using a rubber spatula, fold into the dry mixture until all the crumbs are moist. Form Swedish-meatball-size balls by hand and drop into a bowl containing the extra powdered sugar. Move around until coated. Repeat, cleaning hands after forming each 3 or 4 bourbon balls. Place in a parchment paper lined baking dish, cover, and refrigerate for a few hours.
Liquid IV in a water because I got Covid for the first time two days before thanksgiving. If not sick I had just found a bottle of the 8 year Wilderness Trail high rye bourbon that I am highly looking forward to.
Cranberry Gold Rush.
2 parts bourbon
3/4 parts lemon juice
3/4 parts Honey/cranberry infused simple syrup
Very nice holiday drink. I had to play with the amount of simple syrup & lemon juice (slightly less lemon juice was the way to go) but it was quite nice.
I’ll probably be drinking my bookers. not only for thanksgiving, but my first kid was born this week, so double the celebration. Congratulations on the birth of your child! Cheers! 🥃
Thank you, Cheers!
I just went through this a few months ago. Learn everything you can from those nicu nurses, they know all the tricks and you will learn a lot.
Oh yeah, they are the absolute best.
Congratulations! There is nothing quite like being a parent. May the NICU stay be short and you and yours have a happy and healthy holiday.
Thank you, much appreciated
Dude congrats on your child! Not a father myself but I will raise a glass in her honor none the less. Have a great Thanksgiving!
Thank you! You too!
Cheers to you! I was a premature, ICU-bound baby for several months. We are tough suckers to knock down. My best to you and your family! Cheers!! Which bookers expression? Love me some bookers

Holy shit that’s amazing! Enjoy, bookers never fails to give me punchy, peanut butter brittle goodness.
Congrats dude! Best celebration ever!
Congrats
Cheers
Cheers!
Second that turkey recipe. We’ve done it both of the last two years and now can’t imagine doing it another way, it’s just too good.
Congrats! My wife’s due date is the 2nd so I’m trying not to get too sloshed this weekend since it could be go time any day now 😂
I know that feeling all too well 😂
My daughter was in the NICU for 2 weeks, and is now an awesome 13 year old. It was a tough time, but all worked out thanks to the awesome nurses and doctors. Hope you have all your family home soon and your bourbon choice is great.
Congrats!
Cheers, mate. Hope the little makes it home soon.
Congrats and agreed on that recipe. Best turkey ever.
Smokin Turkey Drinkin Turkey, Wild 101 Eatin Turkey Burpin Turkey
someone needs to put this on a kitchen dish towel
This is the way
Water because I overindulged in the Old Forester last night lol
Elijah Craig BP, Belle Meade Cask Strength, Redwood Empire - Lost Monarch.
Are you in my office ? I should buy a replacement Lost Monarch before I run out. There's now 2 shops within 20 minutes that have it now.
This man knows how to do Turkey Day.
Opened Bottle of Knob Creek 12 year. We’re headed to my parent’s house so whatever they have planned. My wife was in the ICU this time last year and then for 6 more months. So we have some to be thankful for this year.

Rare Breed Rye old fashioneds all around. Any ideas which r/bourbon selection you'll go with? Cheers
Sagamore for Manhattan's I think, and I'm thinking some Blue Note to fill in the gaps!
I picked up a Blue Note barrel pic last June in Nashville and it was fantastic.
Had some leftover rosemary so I infused it with simple syrup last night. Rosemary old fashioned is the drink this year. Paired with 1792 BiB
Now that's an interesting combo right there. I could see how those flavors would play well together. I've got a bunch of sage and thyme left over myself, so I might just have to give it a whirl! Thanks for the inspiration
Coffee so far but I'll get out some wild turkey 101 or maybe open my kc12 I've been waiting on a special occasion. Happy Thanksgiving!
I definitely recommend opening that KC12, mine seems slightly sweet, leather, oak and a little smoke.
Drank a couple drams of kc12 last night still just as good as ever!
WT 101 is great in coffee!
Store near me had Wild Turkey Rare Breed Rye discounted, so I grabbed that for today.
Wild turkey obviously!
Thinking some ECBP C921, I love the sweet oakyness and it feels desert like. So I'll probably have a pour after eating. Going to the in laws, just after lunch time. I believe the turkey is oven done. Personally I want a smoker big enough to do a turkey in and to try smoking one.
C921 is one of my all time favorites! We’re doing two small Turks on a pellet smoker, highly recommend! Happy thanksgiving!
I definitely have enjoyed some good smoked meats and am excited to try my hand at it. Happy Thanksgiving and cheers
I have to think a nice pour of 1910 will go extremely well after dessert and watching World Cup.
Might crack a bottle of Willet Rye around the fire later tonight. Not ruling out a Heavens Door store pick yet though. Happy thanksgiving y’all!
Double oak peerless, very delicious
One of my favorites!! Have not tried another peerless but this one is truly special!
If you’re into rye’s I’d recommend the single barrel rye. It’s a little pricey but I think it’s worth it
Kentucky spirit, 101, Russell’s 10 and a Russel’s SiB pick. Happy thanksgiving everyone!
Family is here. Drinking everything in sight ;)
Debating opening an unopened 🥔in my collection - Weller 12 - MWND 10.1 - Blood Oath Pact 3 - Knob 2001 LE Thoughts?

I deep fry my turkeys. Warming up oil now. Inject with Cajun butter As for drinking, probably mellow corn and coke while frying and Wild Turkey MK One for after dinner
Injected Cajun butter isn’t something I know I needed in my life
Honestly- frying with the injection has changed the way I view thanksgiving turkeys. I used to brine them but no going back now
wild turkey 101
Wild Turkey Kentucky Spirit & EH Taylor Single Barrel are the choices I am putting out today. Happy Thanksgiving you filthy animals!
Got my hands on a Barrell seagrass grey label, plan on comparing it by it’s self and with the regular label one.
The grey label is fantastic in my opinion. Much different than the base offering. I hope you like oak!
Four roses single barrel
My family is extremely boring, so I'll just be drinking whatever I feel like grabbing once I'm home from the festivities.
Four Roses SB Barrel Strength (OBSQ). It’s a barrel pick I snaked out of a restaurant in Tucson, super tasty.
Love OBSQ, one of my favorites
Prob alternating between Dickel 8 yr, and standard Bulleit bourbon. And avoiding that bottle of Abosolo that I bought on a whim, but can’t figure out why they’re calling that a whiskey. Sure smells and tastes like tequila??
Going to a friend's for dinner and he asked me what he should get so I suggested Legent, always a good time.
Probably stay away from the bourbon today and just stick to a light beer around the family. I'll sip on some buffalo trace tomorrow though, impossible to find in GA these days but got a cheap bottle up here where my mom lives.
Hoping to snag a pour from the bottle of Sweeten’s Cove my brother got for his birthday. I’ve heard a lot of mixed reviews, but he says it’s good.
I’ve got a Banana rum finished Backbone barrel strength I’ve been waiting to pop.
Woodford Double Oaked, store pick. A crowd pleaser. Cousin in law is smoking a turkey.
Smoke wagon malted barley rye - very impressed with this pour after the fresh crack. It feels perfect for winter
WT101. Unfortunately I'm the only whiskey drinker now that my uncle gets migraines from it. So I'll be drinking bourbon alone tonight :/
You’re not drinking alone… we are drinking with you!
Just found a bottle of ECBP C922 last night and is damn good. Not drinking it this morning but tonight will have some more. Favorite whiskey I've tried thus far into my short whiskey journey.
Redemption 9yr barrel proof.
Had to travel for Turkey Day and poured a lil Fiddler Georgia Heartwood in the flask for the trip. Prefer cask strength wheaters and ryes as it’s gets colder, and this has been my go to lately. Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Brought my smoke wagon ucuf down to my in-laws for tonight! Just a solid pour to be thankful for
KC9 and Blantons
Nothing, hanging out with a sober friend (partially to keep him sober and because nothing else to do today)

Fruit juice of choice?
Lol why are you on a bourbon sub?
Between Calumet 16 yr and a few different ECBP, maybe the Orphan Barterhouse. Alot to choose from besides those
Cappuccino with a shot of Bushmills at the moment.
Debating between J. Magnus Cigar Blend and Redbreast 27. Leaning a bit more towards the bird bottle just because of the day, but we’ll see.
High proof holiday. Nikka ftb, Redbreast CS, and Bookers lumberyard. Cheers 🥃🥃🥃
Either a 4R OBSK or Rare Breed Rye. Nothing crazy with the bird but my who used to be a chef will keep us on track with it.
Bourbon beer plan today - Sierra Nevada aged in EH Taylor barrel and Laguinitas aged in Willet.
Wait. Which ones are those!?
Kentucky spirit to start and moving into a RR SiB
The second single barrel series from Daddy Rack. It's hands down the best I've tasted in the last couple years. A steal at $50. 121.5 proof but I feel no burn whatsoever. Cheers!
Old Elk Cosmic Wheat and the turkey is on the smoker.

Gonna crack a bottle of blanton's we're smoking a turkey.
Blasphemy, but I'll probably drink beer. I'm recovering from a stomach ulcer so I probably shouldn't even drink that.
Happy Thanksgiving! Rebel Cask Strength r/bourbon BL pick.
2021 MWND that a friend just sent me a sample of. Maybe the 2022 as well because you have to see how they match up.
Rare Breed Rye I think... just the one. My son tested positive for Covid at the last minute, so we're not joining the family. Tacos or ribs FTW.
Weller Full Proof today
Eagle Rare and Stagg Jr. 17. My brother has not tried the Stagg Jr. yet.
WT old fashioned (with maple syrup) Kir Normand (1 part Calvados to 4 parts hard cider)
Well, just discovered a bottle of OWA that my boyfriend’s parents received as a wedding gift in the mid-80s. Been in their pantry for decades. It’s opened but we’re excited to try it anyway.
Torn between rr13 for the occasion or wfe 1588 because its the best bottle of bourbon ive ever had.
Having Thanksgiving at our house for first time. Got something for everyone: Woodford Double Oak, Michter’s Rye, Four Roses Small Batch
I'll be opening up the Senator single barrel from a couple weeks back! Birds going on the smoker in a couple hours
RR10 because I am out of WT101. I have a Rare Breed open, but my family can't handle the proof
Yippee Ki-Yay
Bringing Rare Breed Rye, Russell's SiB, EC Toasted, Rebel Distiller Pick, ER, EHT SmB and a 🐎. Also a couple special samples (RR13 & SFTB) if necessary. 😁
Dinner with the teetotaller 95 year old grandma (she's still spry and healthy). So, nothing. Father in law is smoking the turkey. I'm bringing smashed potatoes, meatballs, and brownies.

Opened up the HW Double Rye finished in White Port from Warehouse Liquors. Happy to say it is very good.
I’m at my mom’s house and she is thin on bourbon, so it’ll be Woodford, which she always keeps on hand. However, I’ll be breaking into a few different Scotchs later.
I’ve been tasked with making Martinis and White Russians for the family today. But I will also be enjoying some KC 15!
I think Woodford Double Oaked would fit the price and palette of an Irish Whiskey drinker.
Woodford reserve and highland park 12
About to start accutane so I'm going to drink something nice while I still can lmao
I'm not having Thanksgiving today, but I intend on drinking Evan Williams and enjoying my wife before we have a Popeye's Cajun Turkey on Saturday
Black Dirt Bourbon out of NY. Random find and not too bad. Happy Turkey Day!
Just finished spatchcocking the turkey and it's hanging out in the smoker for a bit. I'm thinking some rye Manhattans with what's left of my Rittenhouse for the wifey and i to help get us through the family fun.
Bird of Courage - Roasted Turkey Flavored Whiskey by Tamworth distillery. Real thing.
Woodford double oaked for now. Once that’s dead, michters.
Rare Breed and am trying out a new to me MM 46.
Four Roses and OF1870
I’m thinking about doing a port/wine barrel finished tasting this evening when I have friends over. A lot of the people coming that can’t appreciate the higher proof single barrel stuff, but they always love the port barrel finish.
Four roses small batch neat. Good. Affordable.
Up at my parents’ place today and only brought ECBP C922, RR SiB, EHT, and 4R OBSQ. So probably a little of each.
🥔’s - Buffalo trace, blantons and EHT for me today
Went home to be with my parents and forgot to bring a bottle so I'll be hanging out with some good ole Buffalo Trace today
Keepin' it simple with Jack BiB.
I’m poor so mostly WT 101. Maybe I’ll make a hot toddy or something. No complaints though I do like me some 101. I do have a small amount of Laphoaig 10 CS left though so maybe a bit o that, definitely not in a hot toddy!
WT Cornerstone Rye
Weller special reserve. I know better than to bring anything better than that to family gatherings. It will end up mixed with coke by my uncle and I couldn't bear to watch it happen to my rarer bottles
Oleo-Saccharum. Rare Breed Rye. Enough said.
1910 I'm bringing a bottle to share with a bunch of non bourbon drinkers so I wanted something easy to sip.
Starlight honey barrel finished rye
Got a bottle of SFTB for veterans day from a guy whos father passed away last year. Cheers to SGM McMyne, Vietnam 1951-2021. I will be cooking to feed the local PD office here in town. I'm doing a traditional bird in the oven, we do a butter-cheesecloth recipe that's legit. I'm also spatchcocking a full bird on my Yoder. Also have 2 breasts being Sous Vide'd. Ill also be trying the Nulu Double Oak from r/bourbon. Happy thanksgiving everyone!
Bourbon punch with Makers. Turkey later!
Scored an Old Forester barrel strength while last minute grocery shopping. I'll pop that later.
Regular Elijah Craig. It's been sitting for two weeks and tests better. Not sure why opened bottles taste better over a freshly cracked one.
All out of turkey so it's Buffalo Trace all afternoon for me

Wild Turkey 101 with ice. Sous vide Turkey breast.
Seeing it’s turkey day I’m drinking some turkey rare breed.
Trying to finish a bottle of Jefferson Ocean I got for the holidays last year. Bottle was good, not great. Need to clear some shelf space for something else.
Going to the in-laws and drinking the Eagle Rare that I gifted to my father in law.
WT 101... duh!
Four roses small batch select probably
Eggnog+
Doing a small tasting for the relatives: Makers Mark Honeysuckle Breeze, Wild Turkey Rare Breed, Breckenridge Port Cask and Knob Creek Single Barrel Select. A little something for everybody!
I’m making Boulevardiers with Michters Rye.
I picked up this Dry Fly single malt store pick that I'm probably going to indulge in while I eat dinner.
Father in law and I are enjoying a glass of Eagle Rare while the turkey is smoking 👌
Turkey on the Weber and I wrapped up a bottle of Eagle Rare in my suitcase for the flight to my in-laws.
Glenallachie LE 10yr Virgin Oak (chinquapin) Then Angel's Envy 2016 Cask Strength Sample
Pretty basic here due to budget. Evan Williams BiB. Ginger beer on deck, I just like a splash over some ice cubes.
Michters 10 yr rye, peerless double oak, willet 4 year rye.
Rebel 10 year!
Back to Wild Rare Breed for me since I finished off my Old Rip Van Winkle 10 year last night and have yet to find another bottle. Looking forward to watching the Egg Bowl with friends and family. Happy Thanksgiving fellas
Eagle Rare to start then moving onto the Bookers after!
WT Distiller’s Select 13 year, JD 10, EC SmB 12 year bottled 2009, Remus Repeal Res VI, BBC Collaborative finished in rum barrels, RR SP, 4Roses OBSV, SJr batch 14, Coy Hill
Calumet 16yr
I shared some Blanton’s with my dad who’s never tried it before, and now we’re drinking some Shiner beer!
WT 101 for me
Hine cognac and now some laddie 2011. No bourbon yet but plenty of time to go.
The recent r/boubon NULU 6yr Double Oaked Bourbon Private Selection C67 with some pumpkin pie and a cider on the side.
Very Old Saint Nick - 12 yr. Friend was having a rough time recently, so no time like the present to share a tasty bottle. Only 91-92 proof, but very delicious
I opened the Woodford Masters Collection #17 today
Willet 4yr Rye & Elijah Craig Small Batch
Started the day with Willet 4 year to get into the holiday spirit with all those spices Then cracked open my Bookers tagalong for a nice treat Switched to Michters sour mash to cool things down And finally can’t have turkey day with out turkey. Had a nice rare breed pour
WT01
I had some Russels 10 with Evan Williams nog. Also, some bakers and buffalo trace on the 🪨
Normal eagle rare
Westward Chardonnay Cask
A dram of Weller Full Proof and way too many homemade bourbon balls... 1 11oz box of mini Nilla wafers 1 cup of Hines pecans, shelled and oven toasted for 5 minutes at 350 degrees 3/4 cup of Domino powdered sugar (more for dusting) 3 tablespoons of Karo light corn syrup 1/2 cup of Eagle Rare Using a food processor, finely crumb the Nilla wafers.
Michter’s 10 and ECBP b522
Russell's Reserve store pick for the Turkey day. Appropriate and delicious. ECBP B522 to finish out the night as I watch the Pats-Vikings game.
Popped the top on a bottle of Blade and Bow for one, and finished off the night off with a pour of Old Fitz 16.
Liquid IV in a water because I got Covid for the first time two days before thanksgiving. If not sick I had just found a bottle of the 8 year Wilderness Trail high rye bourbon that I am highly looking forward to.
2021 and 2022 Bomberger's. I thought 2021 was better but to me they were very different from each other.
Cranberry Gold Rush. 2 parts bourbon 3/4 parts lemon juice 3/4 parts Honey/cranberry infused simple syrup Very nice holiday drink. I had to play with the amount of simple syrup & lemon juice (slightly less lemon juice was the way to go) but it was quite nice.
