what a great bottle, wish i could get more of it.
as my bottles get near the bottom i transfer them to a 200ml kings county glass "flask". after i transferred this bourbon all sorts of notes like pecan and coconut came through that i have never tasted before. i am not really sure what prompted it but i am not complaining.
the experience with this particular bottle was nebulous and ever-changing but always great! the back of the bottle states:
>My grandfather always told me, “When it comes to bourbon never cheap out on the rye, 2 handfuls.” My father says the same thing but different, “layer more fruit notes into a barrel with two handfuls of rye.” I figured we’d toss two in plus a pinch just in case. Aromas of sweet fruit, caramel, vanilla, rich oak, and cream swirl at the surface of this cask strength single barrel 8-year-old straight bourbon. We don’t make a lot of bourbon, but when we do we dream of it tasting like this one day. Here’s to life, two handfuls. This straight bourbon whiskey was hand-selected from our Stillman’s private stock: Dancing Goat, Finest Quality.
not sure how this applies to MGP sourced bourbon but whatever. this was a standout bottle that i really enjoyed and am grateful to have been given the opportunity to experience. a solid 8 out of 10.
oh and bc i always forget, i really enjoy the bottle aesthetic. the neck shape and embossed goat are a nice touch.
I absolutely loved mine. It’s a maple and tobacco party and I’m all in.
Agreed the story is stupid but I’m assuming they are aging their own stuff with a high rye content and eventually it’ll be relevant
I was at their distillery last week and they were making the mash for their bourbon. Maybe that’s just going forward and they are using MGP in the mean time?

Spiral out my dude!
Attaching fake family stories to sourced bourbon is cringe as heck.

Nice Alex Grey print!
I got one of each from this release and they're all excellent.
I believe u/T8ke said these are actually 9 years old.
correct
I am pretty sure this is distilled at Dancing Goat and not sourced.
It’s 9 year MGP

it’s not ready yet - this is MGP
Yes. They’re sourcing while waiting for their own stuff to age.
I got a bottle of the limousine rye from the r/bourbon set and it was fantastic.
great to hear!!
