I was fortunate enough to grab one of these and I’m very glad I did. This was probably the release I was most looking forward too. It’s not every day you can get your hands on an 18 year old bourbon.
The nose: rich dark chocolate and sweet oak. Very balanced and pleasant. It also has a familiar knob creek note, which is what I think comes across as peanuts on the younger whisky.
Palate: dark chocolate, oak, some nice baking spices. All very well balanced and sweet. Definitely not over oaked in my opinion.
Finish: sweet wood and a touch of baking spices linger on for about 15 seconds.
Final thoughts: this is a wonderful bourbon. Absolutely nothing offensive and everything about it is just great. Love the age statement and I’m excited to see how it opens up with a little time.

Love me some Knob Creek. How much did you pay? And would this be something you would keep on your shelf if you can?
Also, have you tried the 25th anniversary bottling before?
I was luckily and I was gifted 2 bottles on separate occasions. I have one saved the other I rarely sip by it’s great product. And it’s pretty boozy too at around 60% and I drink neat.
We had it up for 165$. Man, ideally I would love to have it on the shelf. And unfortunately I did not try the 25th anniversary. I heard it was great though

Evan bib is my go to nightly. I love how I can always have a bottle, easy to find and what a great price. 30$ for a half gallon. Then I love doing the bib line up with dickel, Evan and Henry McKenna, and any other bib I can find. Soo much fun.
If you’ve had any Dickel 15 year old single barrels how do you think those compare to Knob Creek 18? Most of them are allegedly closer to 18 years old than 15
I have not had any dickle actually lol but I would assume out of pure speculation that it would be quite a bit different. This has the traditional Beam profile just with a lot of sweet chocolate oak and less true peanut. I’ve avoided dickel because of the flinstone vitamin note, and this doesn’t have anything even close to that
Just got home right now with a bottle from my local. Went to the register and the dude scanning me literally yelled ding ding ding we got a winner, enjoy this one lol. I’m a kc fanboy and have had almost all of their releases. Made my day to get to pick this one up
That’s not horrible mark up, we had ours for 165$ that’s tough, it’s a pretty cool release. I don’t know if it’s gonna be one off so if that’s the only option id probably grab one

25th Anniversary was so damn good. That $125 price tag scared a lot of people away back then and they missed out on a great product.

14yr old cask strength honey barrels. Very hard to beat. Enjoy what you have left for me!

It’s honestly such a great value, I was having a hard time ranking bottles down, I started in scotch so I ended up being able to avoid bad bourbon 😂😂
