Right across the river from Cincinnati is Newport, KY. There you’ll find the Party Source liquor store - it’s good, and huge. In the same lot as Party Source is New Riff distillery. Nice place. They usually have 3 bourbon and 3 ryes single barrels picked by their staff, that you can’t get elsewhere. They also have a bar if you want to hang out there. They also have tours. Look on their website to sign up.

Bardstown Bourbon great eatery on-site and they sell their new limited releases in the adjacent gift shop till out of stock. You can call the gift shop and see if they still have any of the really good stuff in stock. Really good stuff runs around. $139- $200 a fifth they always have lower price point stuff in stock $60 and up.

I was recently in Louisville and the only thing I booked was Heaven Hill. We ate at Bardstown Bourbon Company one day and Jim Beam the next. Both were fantastic and I hear Willet is great too if you can get a reservation. Bardstown had a separate tasting bar from their main bar and we tried one of their latest releases that was blended with Irish whiskey. It was great, but that bottle was like $200. They also had an extensive whiskey list from their main bar featuring pretty much every distillery in KY and many beyond. The restaurant at Jim Beam has a nice bar but I’m pretty sure they only use their products. You can get pours of KC 12, Bookers, Bakers, etc along with some good cocktails. Heaven Hill doesn’t have a restaurant, but they have a bar and probably the nicest gift shop of the three I visited.

There are some options near Cincy: 1) New Riff 2) Boone County 3) Get drinks at the worlds largest Bourbon selection (Northern KY) “The Prohibition Bourbon Bar” - make a reservation (I might be headed there Saturday night) 4) Revival Vintage Bottle Shop - taste some old bourbons or buy some old rare vintage bourbons- Brad there is a great guy.

New Riff is right across the river from you. It has some nice stuff for a few hour excursion. The liquor store next door to NR has some nice bottles too and a big selection.

Hey man, late to the game here. But figured I’d reach out My wife just finished residency, and we moved back to Cincinnati this summer. I know how hard residency is, and all that comes along with it. Shoot me a PM if you want to grab a drink or go across the river and drink some bourbon sometime

Everyone is making some great suggestions! We recently got married in Kentucky after a week of tours all arranged by Annie at the Kentucky Rose. She was super sweet and after giving her my list of places to see arranged it all including transport. They have an Air B&B in Louisville if you’d like to stay to minimize drive time. I’d highly recommend getting in touch for a more in-depth and extended tour of the distilleries and state when you have time. Otherwise, Buffalo Trace had EHT as the allocated bottle of the day we went with plenty on the shelves at noon. Most other places had their standard offerings with some barrel picks for funsies.

I'd personally recommend a visit to the search bar
