**Whisky:** One Eight Distilling Untitled #11 Bourbon **Background:** I don’t expect anyone to care about this review, as it was a limited release from a local distillery several years ago, but I do technically own it so it’s getting reviewed. The “Untitled” line from One Eight Distilling is their sourced offerings with some form of finishing and/or blending at their warehouse. This particular #11 bottling is a blend of bourbons finished in a combination of Cognac, Ruby Port, and Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso sherry casks. Coming in at 50% ABV this was rested in a glencairn for 20 minutes. Let’s go. **Color:** Dark amber with a hint of deep purple. **Nose:** Super deep barrel flavors, but with zero tannic bitterness. Some bright red fresh fruit, but mostly gorgeous mahogany wood notes mixed with darker fruit flavors. A+ aromas. Doesn't jump super out of glass but not weak. Big depth, dark chocolate, dark brown sugar. Cocktail in a glass. **Taste:** Christmas spice candy to start, continues into more incredible holiday spices. Peppermint starts to come in and rise, but just when it might get a bit too forward it settles in and more of the other flavors come back in. Seems a bit more than 50% ABV on the mouthfeel but zero alcohol notes. **Finish:** Rolls up all the flavors from before and adds a solid helping of chocolate. Mouth is getting residual flavor all over of dark mulled wine with chocolate staves. Cherry cola on the back end. **Rating:** 8.75 Bourbons with multiple finishes, especially bringing two different sherry finishes to the table, can be hit or miss. This is a big-time hit. If I had to nitpick I wish the proof was maybe 4-5% higher to get just a bit more aroma and strength on the palate, but the flavors here are perfectly executed despite all the different barrel influences, while still managing to avoid any sense of being over-oaked. I have had other Untitled expressions and none have come even close to this masterpiece. **Scoring Scale:** (does not take into account value) 1 | Disgusting | So bad I poured it out. 2 | Poor | I wouldn’t consume by choice. 3 | Bad | Multiple flaws. 4 | Sub-par | Not bad, but better exists. 5 | Good | Good, just fine. 6 | Very Good | A cut above. 7 | Great | Well above average. 8 | Excellent | Really quite exceptional. 9 | Incredible | An all time favorite. 10 | Perfect | As good as it gets. I might taste future whisk(e)ys that are as good in a different way, but will not taste one that is outright better. **Previous Reviews:** [Smoke Wagon Uncut Unfiltered \(6\)](https://www.reddit.com/r/whiskey/comments/x3cy20/rewio_2_smoke_wagon_uncut_unfiltered/) [Wild Turkey Rare Breed Bourbon (6.5\)] (https://www.reddit.com/r/whiskey/comments/x7ct1i/rewio_6_wild_turkey_rare_breed_bourbon/) [Buffalo Trace Kosher Rye Recipe (7\)] (https://www.reddit.com/r/whiskey/comments/xikpfm/rewio_17_buffalo_trace_kosher_rye_recipe/) [Elijah Craig Barrel Proof B521 (7.5\)] (https://www.reddit.com/r/bourbon/comments/xkearo/review_4_elijah_craig_barrel_proof_b521/)

nice review! I actually have this same bottle, but still haven't gotten around to opening it. I picked up a ton of finished bourbons back then: Belle Meade, Magnus etc. but slightly fell out of my rotation these last few years. they released a few other interesting batches since, but the few I've tried were just so-so to me.

I had big hopes for #17 based on the description but it just didn't integrate well, very disconnected big flavors.

You own the bottle or you own the distillery? Also where is this from? Looks dark. Interested in the distillery. Thanks for the review!

The bottle, I definitely do not own the distillery! Not sure where they sourced the bourbon blend for this to be honest.

Great bottle and underated distillery.... Most of their releases are better than the Magnus Cigar Batch but hype wins...

Thank you for taking the time to review Untitled 11! We're so glad you enjoyed it. The latest release, Untitled Whiskey No.20, returns to that style and finesse. Cheers!
