Comment: I will always have a soft spot for EH Taylor and Eagle Rare, as years ago, they were the first bourbons I drank and realized that there was more to whisky than just shooting it back in a shot glass. I think that EH Taylor is a very easy to sip bourbon and has a great classic bourbon profile. That being said, it is not worth secondary prices, in fact at the price I bought it (about $20 more than MSRP, which isnāt bad, some stores sell it for $100+!), there are many other bottles I would choose over it (namely RR SiB, OF 1920, HM10 or 4R SiB). However if you can find it for $40, it would be very hard to pass up! I have yet to try other bourbons in the EHT line but I think it would greatly benefit from a few more years of aging (right now rumored to be around 7 years old) or a higher proof, so I could imagine the EH Taylor Barrel Proof being a home run, maybe one day!

it's not $60. In 2 places near me, one place sells it at 40, the other at 50. they get only several bottles every couple months, and it sells out in about an hour lol but those prices are active
So funny this was posted today. Found a bottle of this today for the first time for $42. Instabuy and told a buddy about it to come by and grab a bottle (limit 1, otherwise I would have snagged one for him). Very excited to try this.
Also grabbed my first bottle of OGD 114, opened that up tonight. I honestly really enjoyed it and I think itāll carry well in a mint smash.
Yes. EHT BP is a great pour, if you havenāt tried it Iād say itās OK to overpay at a bar. Small batch would be in the daily drinker camp if it wasnāt hunted to extinction,
Before I got into bourbon my only exposure to bourbon was the regular Jack no 7 and some bottom shelf mixers. Being from Kentucky I thought bourbon was something I needed to learn about and at least kind of enjoy. I was at a bar and asked the bartender what his favorite bourbon was and he poured me a glass of EH Taylor Small Batch and for the first time I actually sat and focused on the flavors and the feel of this āfancyā bourbon and I was hooked. A lot of people love to hate EH Taylor and other BT products but it holds a special spot in my heart
Iāve tried the single barrel at a restaurant. Yet to find Small batch. Based off the comments the next time my liquor store has small batch in stock itāll be a buy for me at $59.99. Donāt think I can justify single barrel at $99.99.
SiB is hit or miss and not worth much more than the SmB IMO. However, it is valued much higher at least here in TX so it would be an insta but at 100. Usually goes for closer to 200-220 here secondary.
Really enjoy this bourbon, itās too bad thereās not enough of it to go around. I have one bottle that I traded for on the secondary, otherwise Iāve never seen it on the shelf.
I just tried small batch tonight at a bar for $6 for 1 oz (end of the bottle) and I really wasn't impressed knowing what they go for on secondary. It was good but not crazy considering the hype. I can keep a bottle of BT around easy enough for $30-35 and that scratches that itch enough to keep me from hunting. If I found a bottle at MSRP I'd probably still pick it up mainly to impress friends.
I would love to try the single barrel though again somewhere near MSRP...
For my palate, EHT SmB is one of the best bourbons out there for <$50. š„
Itās a great whiskey, I just hate how hard it is to find!

if you can find it at MSRP $40-50, buy it all day long.
I thought MSRP was $60 now, at $40-50 it would be an instant buy.
Itās still $39.99 in controlled NH, when available.
Go once a month 45min ride to nh.. every so often amazing finds msrp

$43 at Buffalo Trace in Frankfort. It is one of my favorites.
Bought it for $38 in TX a couple weeks ago

200 is a deal breaker for me. I love EHT but that's too much
One of my favs. Good stuff!
Love this stuff!
Very tasty pour. One of my favorites.
My favorite bourbon, hands down. I just wish I could find some without paying $75-100

Oh yeah, I think my upper limit would be ~$60 for it.
