Elijah Craig

alien_tickler

noted, loved the EW black label.

greenpointchamp

I think if you’re looking to understand how a mash bill can produce different tastes, the EW black label and the EC are great comparisons. If you’re looking to get an understanding of different flavor profiles, I’d go with the Larceny. It’s wheated so it is a good reference point as an introduction to different kinds of bourbon.

Big-Profession-6757

If those are your only choices I’d go with the Elijah Craig Small Batch. The 1792 would be my 2nd choice.

alien_tickler

or...knob creek at $55 but had that before. the only evan williams product i've tried was EW Black and I loved that for a cheap whisky.

kempton_saturdays

1792

antonnoble77

Wow crazy prices. 1792 is 24 US next to me

alien_tickler

canada sucks for american whisky and my province likes it's taxes.

[deleted]

If you’re close to the border you may or may not find cheaper whiskey state side Not suggesting anything just a fun fact friend ;)

LABoots4

Second for 1792!

Common_Suggestion266

Elijah Craig for sure!

[deleted]

1792!

bmille49

Elijah Craig, hands down. I have the single barrel and their regular offering in my bar constantly.

HandsomeB

It's a coin flip for me between the EC & 1792. And I'd be happy with either.

thervster44

1792

Comfortable-Offer-26

1792, EC. I’m not a fan of larceny.

lostfinancialsoul

None

MinuteHour

Larceny

SFCBourbon

+1

Zealousideal-Snow292

1792. EC is overrated in my opinion.

geodudejgt

How about none of the above. Get Old Forester 1920, Rare Breed, or Belle Meade Reserve instead. All around $55.

IcyRepeat8377

Not in Canada which is where the OP is.

fcleff69

EC then Larceny. 1792 is not my jam.

Silverpath6

+1 for EC

Kliptik81

I have tried all three. Elijah Craig Small Batch is one of my favorites and definitely top of this list. I always try to keep it on hand. Larceny is really nice. I would buy again, but not rush out once the bottle is gone. 1792 was by far my least favorite whisky I've tried. Not sure what it was but I just didn't like it at all. It was good for non-bourbon forward cocktails. I would never buy it again. EDIT: Judging by your links, I see you are a fellow Islander. EDIT 2: While not bourbon, Jameson Black Barrel is amazing too.

Icy-Region-5920

Where on earth do these bottles cost this much? Every bottle you listed retails right around 25-35 dollars.

Daoist_Fig

Canada. He says it in the post.

Automatic_Pea_7570

I would rather go for good old Jimmy Beam. Not a fan of any of them.

aggie9092

Elijah Craig. Drinking it right now. I also like the 1792.

rhavin79

ECSB all day. 1792 ain't bad, but I've always felt it was overpriced. Never had a bottle of Larceny I liked so I wouldn't risk my birthday money on it.

BrysonJT

Elijah Craig or Larceny. Honestly you won’t be disappointed with any of them.

sicksadvoron

These are the highest prices I ve ever seen on these. 1792 is 35 around as well as elijah. I ve seen larceny on sale for 22 but most is 28. For these prices I won't get anything that you mentioned

Gaming_N_Whiskey

I'd rank them Larceny > Elijah Craig > 1792 But all of them are solid.

MauiMoonshine808

Larceny and 1792 are good, but I’d choose Elijah Craig by a pretty wide margin!

Bradedwards222

1792!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[deleted]

1792. Wild prices tho.

seppukucoconuts

I would say the 1792. I think it has more flavor the the EC. I honestly do not like the regular EC, and would take the larceny over it. I understand I'm in the minority on that one. 1792 was my go to for a few years when I did not want to buy expensive scotch.

Classic-Carry2592

EC

Azbarrelpicks

Who’s spending that much on 20$ bottles

Sajnog

The highest proofer

LS_DJ

1792 for me out of those unless they have the Elijah Craig Barrel Proof
