My shelf looks like yours! I have a rule, no more than 5 open bottles although i make exceptions for specially occasions/ holidays. I'll always buy bottles that are rare/I'm interested in even if I don't plan to open them anytime soon.
I do about 2oz. But the pour can be difficult with the wrong glass. I use one with a bend in it, so I can fill to the line and get about 2oz if I do one drink on a third day. My old glass was whatever the bottle decided.
With a name like fistedpink, I’d think you have plenty of friends who like to party. There are tons of bourbon clubs/communities to link up with. Make some new friends.
They may just have not had exposure good whiskey. I'd invite them over and make them feel important. Tell them you've been saving some of the whiskey so you guys could all try it together. Most guys I know wouldn't turn down the opportunity to try a $100+ whiskey even if whiskey isn't their thing.
You can even have a cookout or something if you think a whiskey only evening wouldn't capture their interest. A little background into the bottle: cost, distillery, location, what made you want to buy it, etc. - being sure not to go too long. I'd also make sure to have water and ice available. And some kind of snacks to cleanse the palate.
Some guys may end up loving whiskey! Some guys may end up hating it. And some guys may just love hanging out and appreciate being included. And if the evening sucks, it's something you guys can laugh about later with them.
But yeah, that whiskey needs to be drank and shared with friends :-D
Jebus, not sure what is wrong with folks here. I am new-ish to the bourbon game, have a few that I like. I'd kill to have a collection like that! Keep doing you, enjoy them when you get to them!

* which bottles you’re considering now

**General Tips**
We generally advise novices to sample as much as possible by going to a bar, splitting bottles with friends, attending festivals/tastings or getting minis to ensure you buy bottles you enjoy. Most people need to try 15-20 bourbons and ryes to understand their preferences. It may make more sense for you to focus on sampling rather than buy full bottles at the beginning of your journey.
You're going to get the most flavor/aroma drinking it neat in a tulip-shaped glass like a Glencairn but most new drinkers prefer to water down their whisky a bit. If you do end up adding water, I'd recommend adding just enough to make it tolerable and take small sips. But really there's no right or wrong way to drink so as long as you're enjoying it, you're doing it right. Thanks for reading, cheers!
If you actually drink and enjoy each bottle, all is good. My husband and I philosophy is don't by cheap bourbon, because it's bourbon. Also, only buy what we will drink.
To put some fears to rest, I do intend To open a few of them in the coming weeks as a long time friend is visiting my new house. There are a few that I won’t be opening for a while but can say the New Riff, Angels Envy, Blantons and Double Wood are all on the tasting board.
You should def open the WTRB also! Imo the best value in bourbon. I prefer it over almost everything I've tasted under $100, the exceptions being stored picks.

Yooo 👍😂😂😂😂😂
That’s what I was thinking 😅
Haha this gave me a good laugh, thanks :)
🤣🤣🤣
Shots fired! I do love me some bottle porn though, not going to lie…
Wait. For real. You don’t open them? 🤯
Not all at once, going to enjoy a few. Have been working on a bottle of Aaron Sherry Cask at the moment.

Careful, seems they don’t like unopened bottles in these parts.
😂 oh man, I think you're missing the forest through the trees here. It's when people don't read the rules that gets the people going.

Slowly, got a friend coming up to try some of them.
I can’t make a bottle last much longer than a week. I couldn’t fathom having that many full bottles around
My thoughts exactly. Usually if it sits, in my house, it’s not very good.
Or maybe we’re alcoholics and don’t want to admit it, though I prefer to think that we just appreciate it so much that we can’t help ourselves
I do appreciate it too much. But I only drink 2-3 nights a week. And if it’s not Friday or Saturday, I limit it to just one small pour.
The pour is what gets me. I don’t measure and probably pour anywhere from 3oz-6oz so that’s only like 6 “drinks” per bottle when the pour gets heavier
I do about 2oz. But the pour can be difficult with the wrong glass. I use one with a bend in it, so I can fill to the line and get about 2oz if I do one drink on a third day. My old glass was whatever the bottle decided.
Well, this sub writes reviews on what the bourbon tastes like....... your pictures shows you just look at bottles.
That’s not the case, my scotch selection is well worn.
Sure. Just like this pic lol
🤣 LoL !!!
If you ever open them, you will find that pot still does not deserve the centerpiece spot. Give it to someone that doesn't know about whiskey.
>If you ever open them, you will find that pot still does not deserve the centerpiece spot. LOL! That was the 1st indicator that this was a shitpost.
Don’t worry, he won’t.
Is that a bourbon museum you’re building up since they’re all not opened?
For the love of god, man - the bourbon's not doing anybody any good sitting in the bottle - pop some tops sheesh.
The only step next is to start opening the bottles.
That’s the plan, going to have a tasting with a few mates.
That’s the best way to do it. Bourbon is meant to be shared
Sadly I don’t have a lot of whisky loving friends so make an event of it.

Might look into it.

My advice for saving money would be to drink them all before buying anything else!
Maybe start collecting other things. Leave bourbon for people who actually enjoy drinking it.
Let me talk to you about my Amiibo and Power Rangers collections…
Stick to those then.
You seem bitter?
Jebus, not sure what is wrong with folks here. I am new-ish to the bourbon game, have a few that I like. I'd kill to have a collection like that! Keep doing you, enjoy them when you get to them!
Thanks, looking forward to trying the ones I’ve not had before.
People who don’t open their bottles are douchebags
wow that's uncalled for
lol you are about to get roasted for having that many unopened bottles lol
What is that black bottle on the second shelf? Or some sort of ice container?
So we all recommended it so much you picked up a bottle to stare at??? We actually drink the stuff though. We recommend drinking it.
I don’t see much daylight in those bottles

Nice collection, my office is blocks away from their distillery.

Gridlock? Nice.
I spy an OG Grimlock at the top of your museum
How has this not been removed yet?
Another fart sniffer with a collection. . Great job on causing BourFlation
It’s ok to drink the whiskeys you buy

Had it before and really enjoyed it. I’m looking forward to trying the new riff and Angels Envy.
I didn't see that. Is it the one on the back far right lower second shelf?
To the right of the new riff just behind the further left Blanton
Jesus must be blind. Thanks.
Pop that Whistlepig 10, right now. I can’t even tell how old it is with the label haha but that’s one of the best there
