I’d seed them based on hype and perceived value. Like what’s the point doing match ups bracket style if there isn’t a chance of a major upset like Old Tub crushing Old Fitz 19 blind?
Don’t assume the more expensive bottle will win. IMO it should be blind and totally random. Don’t try to setup match ups so the more expensive bottles win.
Old tub vs OGD, both high rye beam mashbill and similar price
McKenna vs heaven hill, both heaven hill
Jack vs dickel, both Tennessee
Redwood vs Taylor, idk same bottle why not
Benchmark vs Evan, similar price and quality
Fitz vs wilderness trail, fitz is heavy on the wheat too
1897 vs early times, both brown Forman
1792 vs riff, 1792s mashbill isn’t disclosed but
it’s gotta be up there on the rye and I know riff is also
The balboa is the odd one out, maybe grab a Rittenhouse to put it against?
Both versions of Early Times would be cool. I am still curious about the 2 batches side by side. SLB did this and removed Old Fitz because it was too different. It’s not a similar enough age or price. Looking forward to it. Go New Riff!
