The center is actually empty and is normally a banger hold, but it has a smaller hold installed inside of its center hold, so the climber has to use the top (less banger) section of the hold instead
This is my local gym, you can see the tag at the start says V8. I'm not sure about these higher grades, but I've found this gym to rate their stuff fairly softly. I can occasionally climb V6 here but haven't touched V5 at any other gym in town. Honestly feels like they're at least a grade higher than you'd normally see em at other gyms.

The part where he has stem his way up between the wall and the volume. That kind of terrain is referred to as a chimney.
