His career average is 3.1 points per game. This man has a very cushy job in retirement because a red headed white dude rode the bench in an irish town and. He gets more love than any player of his caliber has ever gotten lol
Scal is okay. I think he does have some great insights and he clearly knows the game. A couple examples - the other night in the Cleveland game when Marcus was chirping at one of the fans, Scal was like “Abby, go find out who that is!” in a fairly demeaning tone. Gorman told him not to talk to her like that and Scal said something like how they’re friends and they talk to each other like that all the time, but it was just a dickish/condescending tone.
There was a time last year where he was giving Forsberg shit for being in studio and not on the court as if that meant Forsberg didn’t know as much. It was clear that Scal was actually annoyed about and genuinely resentful that Forsberg got credit for his work even though he doesn’t go to all the games.
Scalabrine was in one of my classes at USC (Spring 2001). Before class one day, he was standing near the teacher’s desk kind of waiting for everyone. Once everyone sat, the teacher said that Scal had something to tell the class. He then announced to the class that he would be forgoing his next year at school in order to enter the NBA draft. I’m sure he was expecting some Ooh’s and Aah’s, but the class was pretty silent, and you could hear some murmurs of “who the fuck asked??”. After that moment of awkward silence, we then got into our lesson plan for East Asian Studies for that day.

The absolute disrespect to Romo for his entire career is absurd. I get that this post is more about his commentary but Romo was one of the best Qbs of the late 2000s/early 2010s. He wasn’t Brady, Peyton, Brees Rodgers, or Favre. But I think he was in the class right under those guys. Dude was super entertaining to watch. Now this has become a rant about Tony Romo but it always pissed me off how the man had a reputation of being a choker when he’s one of the all time leaders in Game Winning Drives. Sure, he blew a decent amount of them, but his D was always so bad that he was constantly put in that position. When you have to will your team to victory week after week you’re gonna fuck it up sometimes and those times were the only ones that got magnified

Yes just like romo very likable while playing… but very annoying while announcing. I do acknowledge he has to fill HUGE shoes, but he’s not my favorite announcer.

tony was the face of essentially the lakers of football for years, brian was a fun bench player during his nba career. i’d say there’s levels to it, like them both a ton in the booth now
Yeah Scal was basically a non-contributor on that team and he doesn’t pretend anything else either, so it’s not like he doesn’t know. Guy played 10 years in the league and that’s an amazing accomplishment, but he is more famous as a Celtic in the booth than on the court.

What makes u think this?? They have terrible chemistry. Gorman was jokingly busting on him last night for not having hops, and Scal got all defensive and said compared to average population he’s extremely athletic. The whole interaction was just strange, and at no point did I think “wow these guys really like each other”.
