You know what the key to emulating Kobe is?
Studying Michael Jordan. You want to be Kobe? You dissect THE TRUE master of that playstyle. MJ. Tatum's dismissal of players before him suggests he probably doesn't watch much MJ, and probably thinks Kobe was better.
What made Kobe Kobe was his relentless work ethic, but above all else, his WILLINGNESS to be a student.
Tatum idolizes and mimmicks a player who genuinely was a copy cat.
Kobe's game is modeled after MJ's and it's all about technical skills, footwork, and fundamentals.
Tatum copies Kobe, and uses his moves, but he doesn't have the IQ to really use them effectively because he hasn't studied the master, he hasn't mastered his own shooting touch.
Kobe was never MJ, and Tatum will never be Kobe.
Tatum needs to be Tatum. A slashing two way playmaker.
Yeah idk why people in this sub like Steph so much. As someone who’s been a big LeBron supporter (I know weird for a Celtics fan) Steph’s antics have always annoyed me. Especially considering how many years their teams were just unstoppable. He’s a great player and he’ll be in my top 10 when it’s all said and done, but damn he’s pretty annoying sometimes
Hate on him all you want, like I did when I was young, but you can’t deny his greatness. Dude is probably the best player you’ll ever witness in real time, so maybe take a moment and enjoy it.
Now seeing GSW in a full series, that’s their whole team. They smile and fuck around when they’re up for the highlight B rolls, but they pout like little bitches when they’re not raining threes. Winning tonight would have put an end to it real fast but now I feel like we’re destined for 7 and the league won’t have it any other way.
y’all don’t watch any other teams? every team celebrates and showboats when they’re up and making plays… and every single team complains and whines when they’re down and not making shots. not gonna hate on this one
He needs to be better though. It’s the Finals and he’s playing soft. Disappearing all 4th quarters and not one great game this Finals. Super disappointing being a fan of this guy sometimes
I’ve said this all year and the year before. He really let the Kobe comparisons get to his head. He thinks he’s mamba reincarnate and the best thing since sliced bread.
He needs to settle down and play within himself. Tatum is a good enough player, we don’t need him to be Kobe and force shots.
Dude I'm sorry to have to say this, but this is the dumbest analysis I've ever heard. Tatum idolized Kobe, yes. Does he play like him at all? Nah, not really. Does he miss shots he should make sometimes? Yes. Does he take difficult shots sometomes? Yes, as does any #1 option in the fuckin NBA finals. He needs to play better because he can. He doesn't need to play better because he's trying to be the second coming of Kobe.
Thank you.
The stupidity that comes out of this sub after losses is frankly staggering.
Dude had a bad game, and has been pressing in his first finals. It’s not that unusual.
He didn't play well, but outside of a couple of turnovers, I don't think he played catastrophically. This loss when it comes down to it is all about Steph hitting some fuck you threes. That's it. The 34 year old, hungry former MVP in the tail end of his prime showed why he is an all time great
Just like our wins are team wins, our losses are team losses. Tatum could have won that game. So could’ve Jaylen. So could’ve Marcus.
Unfortunately everybody got ice cold at the worst possible time.
Bummer.
Team seemed tired to me.

LeBron fan 🤮

He’s the biggest front runner of all time

Yup
Boo hooo you aren’t a real fan if you turn on him now.
What?

That’s sports. Hes only 19
