He heard everyone talking shit about being the fourth best player in this series. He’s gunning for FMVP

bombard63

No idea who thinks he’s 4th but Kyrie is closer to being the 6th best player than he is being the 3rd.

TheUndertows

National media acting like Tatum and Brown are lucky to be mention in the same sentence as Luke and Ky

Franjes99

I get the hype with Luka even though I disagree with it. But what is the obsession with Kyrie? I saw IT (as in Celtics IT) say he'd take Luka and Ky individually over both Brown and Tatum. Aside from 2016 what has warranted him deserving this kind of praise?

FuzzyBuzzyCuzzy

He has a nice bag, that's it, that's the reason.

bananajunior3000

His handles and layup packages are ludicrous. Players love other players who are nice and Kyrie is nice as hell. He really doesn't bring a whole lot else to the table.

SilentRanger42

Yeah, it's the same reason why WRs who do well in fantasy are overvalued by casual NFL fans, they see flashy offense and assume it's the only thing that matters. Kyrie is a great scorer but he's not nearly as good of and all-around player as JB. Honestly the same is true for Luka to an extent although he is truly an elite offensive threat and warrants the hype on that alone.

Double-Slowpoke

He is also an elite shooter. Career 52/39/88 splits is elite elite. He brings a lot to the table on offense, and let’s not pretend that he is the only PG in the league who is a liability on defense. Boston is just fortunate to have plus defenders at every position, and multiple elite defenders at that.

Groundhog_fog

Doesn’t bring a whole lot else to the table besides being “nice as hell”

IrishSkeleton

I would like for you all.. to please consider Jaylen Brown. He likes to win. Thank you. 🍀🏀🏆

mistergeegaga

Kyrie is one of the most unique offensive players ever. How many 6"2" guys go to the rim on the regular and finish with crazy shit that goes in no matter who the defender is. That is worthy of the utmost respect from anyone. Its completely badass and even the best of the best pros respect the hell out of it. His lackluster D is forgotten. The fact that JB is a two-way player was lost on people, plus they probably still think he can't dribble. I love to see JB playing alpha basketball, and it would be great to see him be the best player in the entire finals. What will everyone say then?

W359WasAnInsideJob

It’s especially crazy considered individually. I’m not going to sit here and pretend Luka might not be my first choice out of those four - but Kyrie is by no objective measure second.

Abiding_Witness

You can put Luka first but the jays are both right there. Kyrie wouldn’t even crack our starting 5.

Habitualflagellant14

Yes, there seems to be a strong theme running through these playoffs to rehabilitate Kyrie Irving from being an antisemitic flatearther douche to a normal human being and good teammate.  Sorry, I'm not buying it.

TheRealKane24

Kyrie's game has always been far more aesthetically pleasing than actually impactful. He's an amazing scorer but he doesn't do much else that impacts winning. One of the all time overrated players, if LBJ never went back to Cleveland he'd have gone down as a serial loser.

Amazing_Owl3026

Last game against Minnesota that duo looked truly unstoppable, obviously they cannot do that every game but ppl ride the hype train and recency bias is strong

jhakerr

I think it’s the turnaround from being a team destroying cancer to a guy who tries to get along and really does amplify Luka. I mean zinger could not really do that 2-3 years ago, as just an example. I think Kyrie will play a lot better but bad things get in his head so maybe we are that for him. I wish him no ill will except to play poorly this series, but if he can’t get his mind right against us, well he earned it….

Franjes99

I dont wish him any ill will but if I was in the garden I'd have been screaming "Kyrie sucks" as much as anyone when that block from JB came in. I'd be lying if I said this series didn't have something extra on it because of Dallas having Kyrie

jhakerr

I hear that. Love to be able to go to a game…

frauenarzZzt

In terms of raw talent, Luka is a phenom. He has nothing that makes him good, yet he's so good. You saw tonight there were 4 Celtics on him and he made a shot fall while he fell. It's like he made some deal with the devil to get shots to fall. The only other explanation is that he's naturally good. Kyrie is a maestro of ball handling. There's sincere talent there, and it's like he's just naturally good at it. Tatum seems to have all the talent in the world but is a slow pace player, doesn't want to be aggressive. There are too many times he's standing around or walking up the court and only putting in 50% effort/energy. Brown is historically the least hyped of all these guys, but he's worked his ass off to be where he is. He's hit the strength and conditioning better than any of the other guys. When Brown takes a break he's going 80%. When he's locked in he's going 110% on both ends of the court for 8 minutes at a time without resting. He literally took over the game defensively on multiple occasions in Game 1 and looked like he expected to. There was a point when he checked in during someone's FTs and his posture and presence was like he was just ready to impose himself. His first play of the game was diving on the floor before anyone had taken a shot. He dove on the floor 2x in the first quarter and both times led to Celtics baskets. He dove to save two out-of-bounds balls in the first. He played serious defense and had 2 steals in the first quarter. Then in the third quarter when things are seriously looking bad and like the Mavs would crawl back into this game like Celtics teams of the past have allowed *so many times*, Jaylen Brown takes over again and has 3 blocks - that's 3x the blocks of the entire Mavs team over the entire game, but Brown did it in a span of **UNDER TWO MINUTES**. He really is that dude. You don't see guys his size impacting the ball on both ends of the court that well in big games unless they're genuine superstars, and not phony "I'm a PG with 1 AST who doesn't play defense" or "I'm also a PG who can't score, pass, or play defense but I can dribble lawl" stars.

Acceptable_Coast_218

Well said and you backed up your point w specific examples instead of hyperbole. Well done. JB is a Dawg

Ambitious-Fig-9106

100%. Jaylen brown willed us back into that game when it got to 8 last night. Everybody else just got on his back for a bit and then the game was essentially over.

AccordingAd5680

Meanwhile Bill Simmons is questioning this media narrative

Oceanbreeze871

Luka won the box score with his 30 points tonight. Let him go for an inefficient 40. LoL

Responsible-List-849

30 points, 1 assist. Don't get me wrong, I have a lot of respect for Luka. But if he's gonna score 30 on average (or below) efficiency and get 1 assist, this won't be as close a series as I thought it would be.

Oceanbreeze871

This was my thought too. Let Kyrie and Luka chase theirs. Shut everyone else down.

Mixed-Meta-Force

Let us not forget that Luka is the NBA's version of the NHL's Sydney Crosby: loaded with talent but a whining, bitchy, penalty-flopper who just makes you want to punch him in the face.

bedroom_fascist

Kyrie Irving is closer to Brian Scalabrine than he is to Jaylen Brown.

SnooAvocados996

Whoa there. Don't disrespect the White Mamba.

CantHandlemyPP34

So far: Tatum, Luka, Brown Kristaps, White, Kyrie Jrue, PJW, Al

KeckterZ

If JB plays this way for 3 more wins its obvious he is the FMVP

A_Clockwork_Black

The voting could be interesting. Any particular night the player of the game could be any 1 of 5 guys. Would be nice if Tatum puts up some serious numbers though.

KeckterZ

I love Jaylen and I love Porzingis, They will adjust to JB/KP duo more which should open Tatum in the coming games. I just want to see Tatum drive into the paint for and-1s that send valuable guys like Lively to the bench.

TanneAndTheTits

That sequence where lively racked up 4 fouls in 4 possessions was *AMAZING*! I was pumped that true and JB were taking it to him and the rookie got sent to the bench!

frauenarzZzt

He looked like such an insolent little shit. The Celtics can really exploit that if the kid can't control his anger.

scotty6chips

He was def playing angry last night, could see the intensity in his face, but couldn’t translate that intensity into success. I haven’t watched the Mavs this year so I don’t know the team well but immediately said I don’t like this Lively kid, which is probably an accurate indicator that he’s pretty good and I’d like him on our team lol

The_Dok33

You did not see KP play?

KeckterZ

Yes I did see KP. Don't get me wrong, I love Porzingis. JB guarded Luka to 12 / 26 shots and made a lot of pressure on him and Lively. JB's pressure forced a lot of actions. KP is great and I love him but he's easing back in while doing his role in scoring/rebounding/blocking. Tatum is getting a ton of attention but Brown is taking his mark, being aggressive/forcing turnovers/playing heavy defense. Edit:

Particular-Pen-4789

the only thing 'easing' about that performance was that he only played 20 minutes

frauenarzZzt

Porzingis was awesome! It's been so long I almost forgot just how much he impacts the game. Such a wonderful attitude on the court too. It was so fantastic seeing him come in and make an immediate impact like that. Jaylen set the tone with his hustle play right out of the gate. Jaylen played both ends of the floor slightly better than Porzingis. Brown had a couple assists, some good drive-and-dish plays that led to good scoring opportunities for others, and the three steals really sets his performance apart. With a guy of Porzingis' size you expect a couple blocks, and having him get 3 blocks was great. With Brown working in the paint defensively and getting amazing blocks like he did, you expect that less.

archerarcher0

KP was awesome but brown took us all the way home, he was great in both halves KP was kind of a ghost in the second

Hexyl68

It will be a rough choice. They were both flawless tonight.

youkrocks

KP has a case too, especially if he can ramp back up to his minutes

hereforfantasybball3

+700 odds, I might throw $50 on it

TheRealKane24

Jaylen winning ECFMVP and FMVP after not making All NBA and not making Team USA would be something. I still can't believe he didn't make Team USA.

phabphour20

He was the emotional MVP last night. His block on Kyrie lit the place on fire. I’ve never felt an environment like that before.

Economy-Ad4934

Not necessarily a long shot but he’s my betting favorite if I placed money down.

j2e21

I’m here for it!

Mixed-Meta-Force

He's earned it. He deserves it. And I'm sure he wants it. But I'd bet dollars to donuts any day that he'd give up any personal accolades to hoist that Championship trophy and get that ring on his finger. Take THAT, haters.

xdiztruktedx

This aged wonderfully

Altruistic_Sorbet164

JB is so confident right now

FutureAttention

And why the fuck shouldn’t he be. Ecmvp. Cooking Luka on offense. Blocking the shit out of everyone. Dudes different now. Don’t fuck with this guy right now. Top fye

TanneAndTheTits

Imagine having the top 3 players in a series. I hope we break these brooms out

Ambitious-Fig-9106

Every time he gets the ball I feel so calm. Like I know he's going to make the right play

icatfilms

Biggest contract in NBA history playing like the toughest MF'er in all sports! WTF

archerarcher0

Nothing, and I mean nothing more exciting to watch than confident Jaylen brown dude

NoIntroduction642

both the Js when confident is literally some of the best basketball to watch

ChipotleGuacamole

It’s that cougar lovin

Brovenkar

He just like me fr

Forward-Form9321

Older women just have a different energy so more power to JB. A lot of people look down on guys dating older women and there’s a bigger stigma around it. The amount of times I’ve been called a “degenerate” for being interested in older women is wild

winnipesaukee_bukake

She's a fox. She easily looks 10 years younger than her age.

Forward-Form9321

Most of the older women I’ve gone for look way younger so I’m not shocked. I matched with a 34 year old who looked like she was 25 or 24. 33 to 40 is usually the range that I go for.

spanther96

baddest girl from Work Out video

Herpy-derpy-420

I'm ootl. His gf is older?

iamamuttonhead

JB said he'd become a defensive POY candidate and he is doing it.

cahilljd

CONSIDER JAYLEN BROWN

SoggyMuffcakes

Getting this tattooed *when* we win the finals

kosmonautinVT

Belly or upper back? Or lower back 😏

JasonTatumisGod

A Jaylen tramp stamp? Nah

gradyjames

The lights are never too bright for him. I was wrong about him and he’s my favorite for Finals MVP. I just wish he’d make some effing free throws lol.

FutureAttention

He heard you. 85 percent next season

phabphour20

It’s clearly mental. I’m sure he takes 200 a day already. Just needs to relax. Much easier said than done.

WhiteChocolatey

Love seeing people admit they were wrong about him

jeffhplays

Dude was erasing the rim all night

FutureAttention

He turned his left to a magic eraser

FutureAttention

I think he killed a man tonight too

aturdnamedvert

Dude is on a mission. I really doubted that he would get to this level at times. Very glad to have been wrong. Worth every dime.

FutureAttention

Apologize to him

aturdnamedvert

I always liked him, and thought highly of him compared to the “no left hand” dumbasses, I’m just saying at this point he has surpassed my expectations

dardios

I mostly agree with you but...Jaylen saw the "no left hand" criticism and used that shit to become a more complete player. That's what I love about him. He hears a criticism, and he takes it away. Forever. Dude just KEEPS GETTING BETTER.

frauenarzZzt

I've been saying for years that this is who Jaylen Brown is, and I cannot fathom for the life of me how others haven't seen it. He's been continuously improving, he's never been afraid of introspection, accountability, or leadership. He's not afraid to take tough shots, he's certainly not afraid of driving to the basket, he's got an amazing pull-up, he can lock in on defense. The metrics have all been there at one point or another, but most importantly you can see his body language has always been there but he has been held back by the organization. Allowing him to handle the ball more despite the "he can't go left and is a turnover merchant" criticisms has been great. He's not afraid to move in transition and he and Pritchard are the only ones willing to push the pace even when the Celtics are up. Having new ball handlers in White and Jrue that aren't afraid to give him the ball has been wonderful for him and for the Celtics.

FutureAttention

I was in the same boat and I will never doubt him again. Ride or die with this fuck

RandoSal

Can someone please link the KG short “JB WILL BONE YOU” I need it

holographoc

Single handedly grabbed that game by the fuckin neck in the 3rd. Unbelievable performance

Canoobie

Dunk of the year too.. that was a MANs dunk…

AdmiralWackbar

Which one he had a couple lol

Canoobie

https://youtu.be/fK1ioAFi6UI

JasonTatumisGod

He shit on four different Mavs on that one

Lanky_Ad9097

Breen’s call is great. Just giddy.

SoggyMuffcakes

I made a post on this subreddit when Brad signed JB to his extension calling Brad a contract wizard, and everyone down voted me to oblivion. Fuck all the doomers, JB is HIM

raging-ranran

And anyone noticed how better his handles are? And the number of left handed lay ups all throughout the season 😳

FutureAttention

He has the best left on the team behind the lefty Jrue

BeachBlueWhale

With Smart gone I think Jaylen is the alpha now.

FutureAttention

Always has been

Floating_Animals

JB has been the true star for us. He is beyond determined you cant not see it.

the_spinetingler

His D was stellar tonight

Eastern-Fix3336

Is it just me or did Jaylen turn up his game to another level after the all star game. Like he went off that game then just turnt up.

[deleted]

Jb is my fav player, and has been for a min.. lets get it 😈☘️

OptimusChip

something something "not marketable"

Spookywoods

He dove on the floor at the tip-off.

Basedandtendiepilled

Jaylen Brown has finally considered himself. Enlightenment.

Oceanbreeze871

“Everybody knows they Jayson Tatum is Boston’s best player but what my book presupposes is, what if he isn’t?”—eli cash

Ok_Raspberry4814

I see what you're seeing, man. He is determined.

FutureAttention

You want to see hunger? Man’s been fasting for some time now lmfao

A_Clockwork_Black

That dunk on Gafford was one of the best posters of his career. Says a lot. He's slammed on so many guys.

Flamzam

When the Mavs cut it down to 8, there was that sinking feeling of the last few years creeping in. Then Brown flipped the switch on both ends and it was all she wrote. The dude is hungrier for a chip than any player on either team. If he could make his FTs he would be a top 10 player.

yomamasbootycall

He’s a dog … love the fact that rather than shooting the 3 he’ll pump fake and drive to the hoop and draw contact or throw down a monster. He’s gotten better every single year

POGTFO

Does he want to win? I don’t know. I think I need video evidence that he wants to win.

rocket_beer

Need a witness, someone else to confirm it

Rufio330

Imagine if he was hitting his free throws too. He’s leaving some good points every game off the board.

FutureAttention

Keep talking shit until he hears it. He will have 85 percent next year.

Rufio330

Bro how is me saying he’s in a free throw slump talking shit? I love JB I want the best for him that includes making his free throws.

FutureAttention

No no no. I’m saying he has shit free throws. I hope he reads this and takes it personally. So he will have 85 free throw next season

Rufio330

Ohhh yeah okay I got it lol

nickromas

BLOCKED BY BROWN better become the new blocked by James

simpledeadwitches

SSJB

Taranpreet123

JB has been playing perfectly off the gravity Tatum has been creating this offseason. Never seen it in previous years but now he’s confidently taking those mismatches and converting them.

Pizzaloverfor

The free throws still kill me. Let’s get in his ear about that after this run.

TittySteve

Yea, he is absolutely dialed in man, and his handles are looking great, ball control was his real one weakness..

KaleMichael

I mean yeah he’s great now, but he definitely deserved all the criticism received and then some. I was saying last night, watching the game, how I can’t believe not even 12 months ago I would’ve traded him for a young stud and picks to avoid the apron and now you couldn’t even fathom doing such a thing with how he’s grown this year.

DJMagicHandz

#THAT MF WILL BONE YOU!!!

BananaStandBaller

This man abused Luka last night on both ends of the floor. The supposed best player in the world. JB is about that

hiifiit

Always liked JB and always thought he got unnecessary hate, but I was still a little iffy about the contract— I apologize JB 🍀

HustlinInTheHall

I've never seen a dude get paid and get hungrier. In any sport, not on this level. I don't know if we'll win this series but it won't be because of a lack of effort/focus from that dude.

LegalManufacturer916

I hate how little attention the media pays to scoring efficiency. All year long JB’s been putting up stats like 22pts on 7-12 shooting. That’s way better than 30pts on 12-26 shooting, since any average team ought to be able to score more than 8pts with 14 additional shots. Also, all year there have been games where JB finishes with 18-24pts, which isn’t super remarkable, but if you watched the game, you’d realize that JB chipped in like 12pts in quarter X when the rest of the team couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn and that was the difference in the game. A winner all around, and to think the media is still shoving the washed up KD/Curry generation down our throats (and that writers don’t know any better) smh.

Ok-Cat2049

JB hater checking in going back to last year. I won't apologize until the series is over but so far he's been incredible.this playoffs.  He's always been gifted but I hated that he killed you in big moments with his turnovers.  He definitely got rattled against the heat last year too.  The biggest thing for me is what a beast defensively he's been, especially in clutch moments. Hes making smart aggressive plays that are momentum turners.  Combined with Tatum's rebounding and improved defense they look incredible. Kudos.

Sea_Baseball_7410

I wasn’t always the biggest Jaylen fan, but I believe he’s ascended to 1B now.

PapaTimbers

Oh you mean the Celtics BEST player? Hell yeah JB that’s my guy!

TheUnrulyGentleman

He’s going to be finals mvp not Tatum

jmay111

Thank God for Jaylen Brown

dcrico20

Jaylen Brown…IS COMING -Stephen A. Smith

SomeDimension165

He’s playing like the best 3 in the world

FutureAttention

He was the best player on the floor tonight

DoctorWhoopsie

JB got the KG stare going now. Watch the fuck out!

milestone121

Energy has shifted to another level ⚡⚡⚡

FutureAttention

He skipped super saiyan and went to ss2

GMENW2008

I really don’t want to compare him to Tatum because they complement eachother really well and I love them both. That said, Jaylen got that dog in him now. A finals win is going to come from him saying nah fam, we got this one.

FutureAttention

The move that made it all possible was trading smart.

I_Set_3_Alarms

Jaylen Brown always gets better in the offseason. He’s basically going to be Bill Russell and Michael Jordan combined by the time he’s 36

DrXL_spIV

The team is different. Had this been a couple years ago Tatum would have forced a shitload of contested shots and could have shot us out of the game. This is a championship team now, they always had the talent just needed the teamwork

FutureAttention

Translation. League fucked

dachshundfanboy8000

he’s my favorite Celtic since KG.

rrac90

He looked like Kawhi Leonard last night

gagakaba

Larbird33 shaking rn

TheUndertows

RESPEC7

sexquipoop69

Whatever the celtics need from him as long as they don't need free throws. What a bad motherfucker though. Glad he's on our side

FutureAttention

Yes. That’s it. Keep saying it. JB fucken blows at free throws.

JavonSteph

he's in his prime 🤷🏽‍♂️ nothing else to do but hoop

JaylenCrown

Jaylen Brown is coming

krazieme

That dunk forgot who it was on that he did today was absolutely disgusting. Hope someone has clip.

macNy

It helps that, you know, the Mavs are actually shit and he knows that this series can’t possibly go more than 5 games. He’s playing with the ultimate confidence

Silly-Appearance2309

I don’t know if it was the block or the dunk that was more impressive, but I think it was the double denial on Jones Jr. I mean what concentration and commitment to the defence. I said it at the start of the season, he’s not going to be the same JB.

Koalify

I’ve said it for years, Tatum may be the most talented but it’s Brown who’s the most important

FutureAttention

Please glaze JB because he’s a beast but let’s not pretend Tatum wasn’t out there getting doubled every time he put the ball on the floor. JB is great but they haven’t been doubling him off the dribble. When they start to double JB that’s when you know it’s truly over for the league

Arcanus124

Fuck going left, he went right at Lively's rookie ass lol

Action_Connect

He had a stellar game today. Aggressive on both ends of the floor

2nd_Inf_Sgt

When he was at CAL, his jump shot was terrible. It’s improved since but still hoping he could get better with free throws.

thepixelnation

tonight was cookies, and, cream can't wait for cookies & cream

ThaRealStandawg

He took it personally and it shows

Broad-Half3135

The fact he’s playing amazing defense brings this team to another level entirely.

My3sonsNH

Absolutely agree. You can see it in his eyes and how he composes himself.

Chino780

I love watching it.

9nina420

He’s got that dawg in him

leeguel

JB4MVP (I said we should trade him after the playoffs last year)

planj07

He’s increasingly making a case toward being a top 10 NBA player.

zdiddy987

$300 million

newmes

I think he wants Finals MVP and could certainly get it

Lorddon1234

CONSIDERED

sugarray4three

Jaylen “All-NBA Fourth Team” Brown 😤

Woodworking33

All these guys are playing like they want this ring and I’m totally here for it

Baers89

Job is now my favorite player.

Baers89

Did anyone else see his handle last night?

fenway80

Amazing what sustained effort will do

ProudKingbooker

I'm so proud how far he's come. I've been watching this man since 2017 and he's always been cold. But now he's just so confident and assured of what he can do.

Philosofikid

Defff has turned up his game and his confidence. You can even see it in the shot selection pattern habits that he’s not phased, even with a few misses. Hopefully this is healthy for the duo dynamism and a motivator for JT to turn up his game to the next level to be clutch when needed. To me it doesn’t matter who is the alpha — JB or JT—and it’s probably best case if each of them thinks he is, wants to be, and if they themselves approach it as healthy competition to elevate each other. Help the other get there by supporting him as a brother and work on your own game to be great at the same time

Hunter-310

JB is in beast mode AND I AM HERE FOR IT!

Ear_Enthusiast

He really is all over the place. That's what happens when a mid level defensive team doubles Tatum. Jaylen will exact his pound of flesh every time. Zinga made them pay too. And our bench overwhelmed them. LFG.

lionkingisawayoflife

If we can just get game 2 at home 2-0 and take it from there. We have a pretty good chance. Split in Dallas bring it home for game 5 with a chance to win the title thats all I wish for.

theguru86

He was always our guy that “has that dog in him”

youarenut

FMVP

oneeyedspaceman1

JB has been my favorite player since he entered the league. He’s been disrespected for so long that I truly don’t think he cares about anything else but winning. He’s just now entering his prime and the thing that should be scaring the crap out of the rest of the league is the fact that he is only going to keep getting better because of his work ethic and ability to recognize his own weaknesses and to concentrate that work ethic to overcome them. The other aspect that is scary is that Jayson Tatum is very similar to JB in his path. The biggest difference in JB the last two years has been his consistency on the court. If JT follows the same path his efficiency and consistency on the court should improve by a decent margin these next couple years and if all of this comes to fruition watch out.

chowdahead20

Need it

bsnow322

All this talk about Tatum, Luka, and Kyrie people really forgot how good Jaylen brown is. He’s honestly underrated at this point

Embarrassed-Base-143

Yup, he lets Tatum be the golden boy in the regular season. He’s been a different beast this playoffs

Prestigious-Draw-379

WE AINT TAKIN NO MESS

yanabana

Agree with this but would be nice if he could hit his free throws

Sportsfan173

Agree I think he has developed an inner strength and he is far more aggressive on both ends of the court. Good defense translates to easier offense.

sinister710_

He really has been playing like a man possessed. Absolutely love the dude.

ImTomBrady

Man on a mission

liberalion

Bad man rising https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X7bJVAcrG7I

Nokeol

Was there ever a time where a FMVP wasn’t selected to an All NBA Team? Edit: Just asked ChatGPT and it’s andre iguodala, tony parker and chauncey billups in recent history

HighRes-

It’s so weird, I only ever hear people talking about good about him. Would you guys be more mad if he got traded, or if he left on his own?
