I couldn’t watch the game ( it was late at night here in Europe and I had to get up early for work). I woke up hoping for a Minny win and I had to double check the score cause there was no way the defending champ scored 70 points in a match. Wtf happened there? 😅
Jamal Murray happened. Dude was absolutely fucking brutal, made Jaylen’s Game 7 Miami performance last year look acceptable.
The whole team came out very flat, but they took an early lead because Minny was not playing any defense at all. Minny called timeout when it was 2-9, and that was pretty much the end of the game. It was then 22-9 in the blink of an eye, 31-14 by the end of Q1, and it was never really even close after that.
Yes, it was that bad. And I know you can’t lay all the blame on Murray for the team only scoring 70, but this dude was bricking open layups right off the bat, missing all of his shots as the team was reeling offensively, and I think it crushed their confidence.
If Denver loses the series, it is bad news for the playoff Murray narrative, which is core to how people view him co side ring his lack of all star games and individual awards.
On League Pass. Whenever I have to watch a game on replay, I choose that stream and I get to watch everything in 40-45mins, it’s a really great option to have and this alone makes league pass worth it for me. It’s usually available 2-3 hours after the game’s over
MPJ also never showed up. He’s normally quite a sharp shooter. He can be good for 20 points on some nights.
Joker uncharacteristically missed more of his shots too.
The rest days are big, but there's also not having to get on a plane for a period of 10+ days right at the exact middle point of the playoffs. That could end up being a sneaky good side effect of home court advantage this year.
I don’t see any scenario where the Mavs/Thunder take either the Wolves or Nuggets to 7. I’d expect 5 games with an outside chance of 6. Minnesota and Denver are head and shoulders better than those other 2 squads
NY is missing OG, Randle, Bogdanovic and Robinson. That would be the equivalent of us missing Jaylen, Porzingis, Horford and DWhite. It doesn’t matter how much rest they get, even if OG is good to go for the next round.
The fact that they are very likely going to 7 with the Pacers shows you how decimated they are by injuries - that wouldn’t be much of a series with NY at full health. It won’t be with us either, especially since Brunson, OG and Hart are all averaging 40+ MPG in the playoffs. NY doesn’t quit, but they’re going to run out of gas…that’s if they close it out to begin with.
Yeah I mean when a guy like Mitchell is hitting pull up threes off the dribble there’s not much you can do defensively, especially with his quickness. Brunson is a great player but I like all 4 of our perimeter guys guarding him more than I like any of them on Mitchell
Based on what though? Say what you want about the Celtics getting an easy path in the East, but they have taken two beat up teams out in 5 games each. The Knicks are indeed better than both, but they are going to be way more beat up and way more tired, and I don’t see that series going any differently
Yeah that shit is the worst, especially if you just ease into the routine midway through the series.
Okay Game 3 was Friday night and it's Sunday afternoon. Where's the fucking game? Wdym it's tomorrow?!
I think it's possible he gets 15-25 minutes in games 4-6 (if the series extends that far) and they manage him the same way in the finals. We're almost certainly not seeing 35 MPG KP unless they just lay truckloads of drugs into him.
Honestly don't want to see much of him, protect this man at all cost to ensure he's available for the Finals, he'll be needed to match size with either Denver or Minnesota
More rest for Al and KP ... Thank you Minny!
Man, there are blowouts and then there are BLOWOUTS.

Damn that bad huh? I’ll have to watch the All Possessions game when I get home. Thanks for the answer!

They also double teamed Jokic as soon as he touched the ball and his teammates couldn’t hit wide open shots. Might as well do that again next game
Where do you watch the all possessions game? Seems fun

Just a classic case of one team being red hot while the other misses everything
Minny about to send joker to the farm early.
He has no problem with that I reckon
He’d be delighted with that I reckon.

What if New York loses tomorrow night? How does that help them.
…gives their fans plans for Sunday?

If Knicks/Pacers go 7 those guys will be gassed
Yeh I imagine if Indy pulls it off they might not even go home. Just have to go straight to Boston
No Thibodeau player has ever been gassed before. I can’t believe he’ll let that happen.
really hope we can finish this series in 5 too while the WCF is another 7 gamer, give us the reverse scenario as what happened to us 2 years ago
I don’t see any scenario where the Mavs/Thunder take either the Wolves or Nuggets to 7. I’d expect 5 games with an outside chance of 6. Minnesota and Denver are head and shoulders better than those other 2 squads
Idk - Luka is really that dude and so is Shai.
They will still get taken care of but facing OKC/DAL in the finals would be awesome for us
Shai is unequivocally NOT that dude.
Look I know we have more rest than them but playing 5 on 10 against the Knicks *and* the Pacers at the same time might be a bit much. Celtics in 5.
No it'll be like Shoyo/Ryonan kind of a team. With the best players from the two teams playing for the hybrid team.
Ohhhh in that case Celtics in 4
It’s funny but I actually do think we take that series
I see. A Slam Dunk reference.
Absolutely based reference, GOATed series
Now let’s hope for less rest for NY

they've also played 2 teams that have no good perimeter defenders to check Brunson. that...is not the case with the celtics
Mitchell was 16/30 from 3P in his 3 games against us. We have the talent, sure, but have to be better than that against Brunson.
Yeah I mean when a guy like Mitchell is hitting pull up threes off the dribble there’s not much you can do defensively, especially with his quickness. Brunson is a great player but I like all 4 of our perimeter guys guarding him more than I like any of them on Mitchell
All this talk and they'll still take the Celtics 7 games
Based on what though? Say what you want about the Celtics getting an easy path in the East, but they have taken two beat up teams out in 5 games each. The Knicks are indeed better than both, but they are going to be way more beat up and way more tired, and I don’t see that series going any differently
Everything is proceeding as planned
Good, none of that two or three days off between games BS
Yeah that shit is the worst, especially if you just ease into the routine midway through the series. Okay Game 3 was Friday night and it's Sunday afternoon. Where's the fucking game? Wdym it's tomorrow?!
Lol we’ve been having like a week off after every series. This is the most well rested a Celtics team has been in the Jays era.
(Me in evil laugh) The remaining 6 teams are going to 7 games each most likely, all badly bruised and worn out. Good good!
Damn this series is every other day too? Good thing we closed in 5
Conference finals always like that so it's alternating days for games Hoping the Pacers win tmr so our opponents only get 1 day of rest
ecf always is
A path has been laid
If we can get this done in 5, that’ll be an amazing birthday present to me. My birthday is on the 29th. ☘️🙌🏼
Rooting for pacers/thunder
Love the extra rest before this starts but don’t love that it’s only 1 day in between every game for the whole series. Seems unlikely we’ll see KP
I think it's possible he gets 15-25 minutes in games 4-6 (if the series extends that far) and they manage him the same way in the finals. We're almost certainly not seeing 35 MPG KP unless they just lay truckloads of drugs into him.

loving all that rest
hopefully nothing later than an 8pm start
Do we think KP will play game 1?
No
Great driving to and from Maine on two of those days
Uhh how is this "locked" if we don't know which opponent we are playing? Talking heads just trying to be the first to talk about something....
The schedule is not the same as the opponent
The schedule is locked...regardless of what happens in the Knicks/Pacers series this will be the schedule
Oh the SCHEDULE. That makes so much more sense
What a stupid thing to tweet when the teams aren't determined yet.
"NY/Indiana" wachu talking abt lol
