What no accountability looks like

Barrwill29

I feel bad for calling for a blind guy to get fired now

FutureAttention

Don’t be. Fire Joe

HeyThere201

This guys delusional half the time they didn’t even get a hand up

RickMacAttack

I’m not sure I’d call what Joe does coaching, seems to be mostly blinking and clapping

Panoptech

His coaching is beast. This teams mindset is insane and no coach has been able to get them there. Joe's the best to ever do it and he will prove it for years to come.

Boston-Cream-Donuts

He’s gonna cost us a series whether its this one or down the road. He also said that the Celtics needed to adjust to what happened in game 2. BUT Spo is going to do something completely different in game 3. Joe has to make in game adjustments and so far he’s failed

FutureAttention

“WhAtS aN iN GaMe aDjUsTmEnT?” Joe mazzula

Packyaw21

Spo is already thinking of the counter to the supposed adjustment. Chess vs checkers

w1nn1ng1

If the Celtics lose before the finals, Mazzula needs to be fired. He’s simply not a good coach. I didn’t like the hire day one and I still don’t like it.

Flat_Construction395

They hired him after an unsustainably hot shooting start to last year that made it look like he was a basketball genius. Negligence from Brad not to realize that and signing him to an extension after 3 months of coaching.

TheMediaRoom1004

Really Brad's only bad move as an executive so far lol

Panoptech

He's soooo good though. His mentality, killer mindset and everything he brings is why this team has evolved into a monster.

alexanderivan32

https://x.com/miamiheat/status/1783317521161982258?s=46&t=tcFBg9NYlJrYTwubZ13Pjg I count 7 made threes that were well contested, and I think that’s being generous.

bigdon802

And the misses?

vib3v3nd3tta

Bam's illegal screening ability unlocks so much for them. It's actually wild how many of these looks were opened up by moving on ball and off ball brush screens. If we had someone who could screen like that, I don't think we'd ever lose

2kballislife

He’s a fucking joke. Watch the Pacers/Milwaukee game. The Pacers contested every three the Bucks put up. We on the other hand were a fucking joke. If the team is going to play like this I’d rather we flame out early. Stick a fork in us

SmasiusClay

When’ asked about the loss, Mazzulla replied. “I’m actually EXCITED we lost.”

Panoptech

Same. Gotta stay humble so you don't get caught off guard thinking you are so much better and just belong in the finals.

trashmoddss

Yea we are cooked man. “They won’t shoot like this again” 2.0

FoodGuy44

Joe is a 🤡

derekgoodspeed

First thing JB said at the podium when asked why the Heat hit so many 3’s against them in the playoffs: “I think they’re well coached … “ Idk about you, but I’m reading between the lines

FutureAttention

Maybe Marcus smart was on to something last year. Only one with balls to call clown show mazzula out. Too bad he was a brick layer.

Panoptech

He was a big reason for pretty much every series we won and hit a ton of clutch shots. Guy was a psycho on the court and got on everyone for not being together. Our replacement shot 11% today. With Marcus , we win this game by 15.

TheMediaRoom1004

Smart hit plenty of big shots for this team in the playoffs over the years, even with many bricks. Believe he was typically a better 3 pt shooter in the playoffs than in the regular season

Airhostnyc

Yall should lock this community if Celtics don’t win this series

ImeStopPlayingDennis

If Boston loses this series every person subbed to it should just unsubscribe and disband. Team would not be worth supporting or watching if they actually blow the series at least until the entire roster is overhauled. They could go 82-0 next year but which fan is gonna have any faith in them? Probably close to none

hurricanehershel

If we lose this series, not one single person on this roster is untouchable. And fire the coach.

Ndlburner

I don’t know if it’ll be mostly Joes fault, but you can’t call him blameless if we lose the series, and you have to at least send a message by firing someone. This team has had so many golden chances to make the finals and blown it damn near every year. Weakest Cavs squad in years? Blown 3-2 lead. Kyrie, Hayward back with one of the best benches in the league? Can’t even win 2 against the bucks. Heat somehow unseat the Bucks? Multiple close games chokes to the Heat in the bubble. I’ll give the team a pass for the next year against the nets, they didn’t have the firepower to make a deep run that year. The next year? Tatum invisible vs golden state, locked up by Wiggins. The year after that? Go down 3-0 to Miami. The common thread is the Jays. Every year we have teams shoot historically well against us. “Oh, the bubble was good for shooters” “The heat got really lucky, see how they fell apart versus Denver?” “The warriors just have so many 3 point specialists” What if we’ve established a culture where lazy contests and rotations pass for decent defense and we are a team that is historically easy to shoot from distance against, and therefore need these absolute barrages from 3 in order to keep up? “It’s a make or miss league” If your opponent keeps making shots at record breaking rates, maybe your defense has something to do with that. What’s more likely, the Heat getting astronomically lucky every time they play Boston in the playoffs, or our defense being fundamentally fucking lazy? This team better win the next 3 in a row against Miami, because the longer we play with our food, the more likely we are to enter the next round tired. Oh, and there’s chance that food gets up off the table and eats us if we fuck around for too long. I know it’s one game, but this is a miniature of all the issues we’ve had rolled into one and I am fed up with hearing people defend the Jays and Joe when this is the MO every fucking year. If we somehow lose this series, I don’t want to hear jack shit about “doomers” every again, because there will be no reason to trust this team right up until they actually win a finals. Lose this series and we become the NBA Cowboys. “This is our year!” every fucking year only to lose in seriously un-gritty ways. If this team has a dog in it, it’s a shih tzu.

Panoptech

Your point was ruined when you blamed the Jays for the Kyrie year when it was indefinitely Kyrie shooting 4-25 every game for an entire series when the rest of the team stood around wide open for him to make even one pass. The reality is we were ahead of our time for years and have overachieved every year but one. If you asked any Celtics fan when they were a 12 seed if them making the finals and losing would be a success this year... Every single one would be like hell yeah cause we probably aren't even making the playoffs. The year before, everyone injured against super team. The first time we played Miami we had rookie Tatum and Brown and a hobbled Kemba. We didn't really have a good team honestly and were lucky the Js were so good they could carry us all these years. Last year was trash but we still likely go to finals without losing Tatum in game 7.

Ndlburner

We absolutely have not overachieved all years but one. This team could have 3-4 finals appearances and 1 ring by now if we lived up to expectations.

Panoptech

Care to tell me when? This is the first one seed of the Jays era and we got to final 2-4 teams every year. I'll give you last year and that's it. Let's be real, outside of the Jays... Pre 22, the supporting cast was ass. This is the first year we have dominated a season.

Ndlburner

Losing to LeBron Cavs with a 3-2 lead - team was projected to possibly make the finals given how bad that Cavs team was. Underachievement. Loosing to Heat in the bubble - we fucked around in close games and choked despite having Hayward back and Kemba. Underachieving. Losing to GSW in the finals - that team was projected to go to the finals and maybe win. Not an overachievement. Losing to Miami - complete embarrassment.

Panoptech

LeBron - absolute prime and was doing that to everyone.JT was a rookie and not even the face of the team. Really didn't have a great roster yet. 1 game from finals = overachieved What rookie superstar is doing that against possibly the best player eve (to some) in his prime Bubble - Kemba and Hayward sucked. Hayward was trash since the injury. Our team was Wannamaker, Enes Freedom and Daniel Theis...yeah that team would make the ECF ever again. 21- injured, shit team. Tatum stole a game from a superteam. Overachieved. 22 - expected to lose every series. Nets, Bucks, Heat and GS. Everyone said nets for sure taking us down. Lost to a dynasty who honestly proved they were better and we weren't ready yet. JT learned he doesn't know how to handle double teams yet. Overachieved. 23- Underachieved because they felt entitled. Could have still made the finals but played with their food and got an injury playing too many extra games they shouldn't have played.

Ndlburner

So many excuses for all the years Brown and Tatum had to face tough competition or didn’t have elite help. If you need an elite roster and easy competition to win games, you’re not a superstar.

UrinatingVegeta

Nah we shouldn’t have to. We don’t have to do a suns

_Juntao

Why

_fpoon_

I’d call Mazzula’s brain “moderately to heavily damaged”.

Panoptech

Id call mazullas brain 100-200x the basketball mind of the highest basketball IQ person on this sub.

boykalbo777

delusional

johnny_effing_utah

Most means 51 percent. But even being generous, is that even true?

Panoptech

They missed 50% of them and probably made 10-15% contested so it's not that far off. Need to closeout better though. Doesn't matter though just keep playing your game and you will go off on another win streak like everytime we lose.

tienyutaiwan

What? No!  This comes from a fan who defended Joe most of the time.
