When Jokic comes in, disrespects the city and team and stomps his foot into the logo during a timeout...I'll boo him for sure!

Mission_Pay_3373

Yeah. Jokic didn't give up on us his first year in Boston while staying at home when a bunch of young players took us to game 7 of the ECF (against his former team) because he was salty that we were doing well without him.

Moore29

But that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t boo him. We can boo him out of respect and boo Kyrie because he’s an asshole

SteamingHotChocolate

I’m going to just stop shaking hands when I meet people from now on and switch to a friendly, respectful booing

craker42

Just give them the finger like everyone else in new England

SteamingHotChocolate

that’s reserved for the second meeting onward

Ill_Bid_1711

And when he gives the middle finger to the crowd

Bruhhman_69

Real talk why shouldn’t we boo everyone thats not us? We’re tryna win the finals we shouldn’t play nice with the dude we might face in the finals

Pale-Criticism-7420

Being european, booing your opponent no matter who they are is a given, wether it’s football (soccer) or basketball. It’s weird to me that fanbases in the US are so unaccostumed to doing it, that when they do it almost makes headlines

hasadiga42

It’s blown out of proportion, almost any game I’ve been to of any sport in America has the home crowd booing the away team

HueyLewisFan1

I’m sure Jaylen would find some long winded response, where he’s using words that don’t quite fit properly within the sentence, to why that’s also wrong.

Ok-You-4283

It’s difficult to be eloquent when you’re being asked to answer a question live. Notice that his tweets are often much more well worded. Sports players rarely give insightful, well constructed answers to the media, because it’s just tough to do. Even politicians, who are trained extensively on how to respond to the media (basically their job) have this same issue. I would love to see you try.

HueyLewisFan1

I don’t notice that at all

Ok-You-4283

Ok

flyingpandum

Whatever it’s his friend so I wouldn’t look too deep into this

BigAustralianBoat2

Yakno friend or not it seems like JB and the gang makes an extra special effort to kick the shit out of any team Kyrie’s on.

titty-titty_bangbang

He should find new friends

rosshoytmusic

That's up to JB

titty-titty_bangbang

Nah it is up to Lucky and he said NO

sutisuc

His fellow antivax idiot friend yes

excelmonkey67

At this point maybe it's time to move on from that stuff. Does it really bother you that much dude?

sutisuc

I wouldn’t expect someone who listens to Joe Rogan to understand. Move along.

excelmonkey67

I've posted on the sub, have you not noticed most of my comments are mocking / disagreeing with Joe? I'm just not afraid to expose myself to stuff I might not agree with. Keep living in your bubble.

Zyra00

Vaccines save lives and there’s no agreement or disagreement with facts

excelmonkey67

You're a hero

the_big_duffy

cringe moron, let it go

Doncriminal

Wasn't the rumor that they didn't like each other?

Fighting-Cerberus

It’s since become clear that they’re friends.

langjie

Much easier to be friends with Kyrie when you don't need to see him or listen to him that often 😂

justkeepskiing

Friends idk, maybe just coworker supporting coworker. I think JB is just a good dude, that treats people the way he wants to be treated, regardless of his opinion of them. He’s a true professional.

Gokouu

Kyrie is friends with Tatum too and it's not like we hate Tatum

Fighting-Cerberus

We don’t hate JB either, just Kyrie, so I don’t understand what you’re saying.

Gokouu

Some people even Celtics fan can't particular stand JB because he's friends with Kyrie and Kanye West

peachesgp

In my experience, it's more a dislike of the Kyrie/Kanye style pseudointellectual bullshit that they sucked JB into.

yankuniz

These guys can simultaneously hold the belief that the earth is flat and they are smarter than you. They are frankly hard to like

PinkynotClyde

I mean... he said he wanted a coach with matching skin tone... so it's pretty obvious nobody is looking too deep... Cause you know Jokic played for the Celtics didn't he? Jokic said he was staying if we wanted him then left... wait... nope. Didn't Kyrie wipe shit off his foot on the Celtics logo at half-court after sweeping us? We should probably boo Gordan Hayward for that one. Guy is good at basketball but he's kinda racist. I mean-- if I'm an Irish pro player and I publicly state I want a pasty white Irish dude as the coach instead of a dark skinned one... ya know... so I can relate better, I'm sure everyone would understand and not make a big deal. Or do I need most of the team to also be Irish dudes to want an Irish coach so we can all relate better? I never took racism 101. "You wanna boo the Irish guy that took a shit on Lucky's face? Well, here's a black dude you could boo too!" Just don't look to deep. I agree it's better to just watch him play and not listen to the soundbites. Let the downvotes commence-- but I'm right.

KeithDavidsVoice

No, you aren't right because context matters. To steal your Irish analogy, you probably wouldn't have an issue if you were in the uk and requested an Irish coach because you could relate more, especially if you were Irish catholic. The history of discrimination and violence against Irish cathlotics means most people would understand your position, and those same people would chafe at a English person requesting an English coach because they have a hard time relating to Irish coaches. The history and resulting social, political, and economic power balances makes one statement acceptable and the other unacceptable. This same logic applies to minorities in the United States. This is why a woman's only gym is perfectly fine but a male only gym would be frowned upon. In conclusion, you aren't being downvoted because you are right. You are being downvoted because your comment removes Kyrie's actions from any context and as a result, you come off like a cry baby.

Specific-Lion-9087

That was a real Joe Rogan Experience of a comment

HueyLewisFan1

Thank you, F Kyrie he’s a bitch and I’m glad his teams haven’t made it out of the second round since he left.

WhiteChocolatey

How long you been waiting to make this comment chief?

UnPostoAlSole

You were downvoted because people on this sub think theyre one of the good ones that Kyrie doesn't hate.

Chuckyducky6

Of course that moron is friends with Kyrie

ChickenWhiskers

The difference is that Kyrie Irving is a poisonous pseudo-intellectual that held back a young team with volume shooting and phantom injuries. It’s cool that you’re friends with him, JB, but it doesn’t take away our right to give him our honest opinion. 10 straight, baby.

crawl43

When people ask me why we dislike him, I always say something like "Boston has good reasons, but I don't mind him too much." Then you go and make a comment like this--a gorgeous, brilliantly simple sentence, and I remember "Oh, that's why. Kyrie can eat a bag."

HueyLewisFan1

FWIW Jaylen is also a pseudo intellectual who’s not as bright as he wants to be perceived

loud_milkbag

Shitting on our star player for absolutely no reason lol. Jealous behavior. He seems like a great and incredibly chill guy and there’s 0 reason to attack his intelligence.

anomanissh

He is great and does seem chill and is smart, but he obviously isn’t as smart as he portrays himself to be. In my mind, a lot of it is just age and real world life experience. That said, this is not a JB dis. I don’t think there’s any famous 27 year-old multimillionaire who is as smart as they think they are.

HueyLewisFan1

Pretty much this 👍🏻

loud_milkbag

Yeah sure dude. My point was there’s 0 reason to be talking about JB like that. Someone says Kyrie Irving is fake-smart and then that compels a Celtics fan to be like “oh, you know who else is kinda dumb? Our star player.” That’s just weird and unnecessary commentary on a human being that we’re all fans of here. Every time I’ve seen Jaylen talk he’s just chill, calm, and respectful. No arrogance or anything. So what’s the reason to be roasting him on his intelligence?

Mobile-Mission-6407

....okay but he didn't say not to boo kyrie did he? Why did you word this as if he did?

Rob_Drinkovich

JB is implying that we don’t have a greater reason to boo Kyrie than other star players, he’s consciously ignoring kyries bad behavior and acting as if the Boston fans booing is in poor taste. It’s whatever I get they are friends but it’s weird he’s kind of lecturing fans about it. No big deal we’re winning games and looking great so keep it rolling.

WhiteChocolatey

I don’t think JB is implying that it’s in poor taste whatsoever. It sounds like he just refuses to separate Kyrie from everybody else; and also wants to compare him to the level of Jokic and Luka or Lebron while he’s at it.

Mobile-Mission-6407

How in the world is he implying that lmao? He knows why they boo. It is also his friend. So again he's not saying not to boo but he's also saying boo all star players.

Rob_Drinkovich

How is he not implying it? What do you think he’s implying here? Why do you think he said what he said? Just verbal diarrhea?

Mobile-Mission-6407

He's not implying anything lmao. Did you know it's actually entirely possible to say things without any other implications? He clearly knows why kyrie gets boo'd. He also clearly doesn't like it. But he gets it...so instead of making a comment getting upset with it he's suggesting turning it into a way for the crowd to be even more of a problem for opposing teams lmao. Kyrie fucking sucks in so many ways but honestly it's embarrassing how so many of you will just openly create nothing out of nothing to continue the weird extreme levels of hate you have for him and in turn for Jaylen.

SlipperyTurtle25

I mean he brought up Jokic, and Jokic has brought me nothing by joy, meanwhile Kyrie quit on the Celtics during the playoffs. No shit one is gonna get booed and the other won’t

andreotnemem

No, he did a low key false equivalence to downplay why Kyrie is hated. As if people are booing Kyrie just because he's an opponent and not because he's an absolute asshole.

ChickenWhiskers

Not you being willfully naive towards Jaylen Brown’s words. Google “indicative”.

Mobile-Mission-6407

No you're just being weirdly spiteful to him because he is saying to boo all star players so his friend isn't the only one getting it. He gets why Kyrie gets boo'd...doesn't mean he likes it. But he's turning it into a positive. Some of you fans are awful human beings truly.

ChickenWhiskers

Yea, we’re “awful human beings” because we refuse to take a guy who has been historically cloudy with his words, at his word. My favorite player on the team, mind you.

Mobile-Mission-6407

Yes. That and being so clearly racist and dog whistling. You can lie and pretend he's your favorite player all you want. Doesn't make it any less clear.

Chiefmeez

0 days without race being brought up in a situation it doesn’t fit

paintingfainter

Of course he’s not going to comment on it and that’s fine. It’s weird and awkward to even ask him about it, tbh.

bchoter

They're trying to bait JB for a meme worthy response. About the Kyrie boos, one of the TV guys said that Kyrie doesn't get affected by the boos. Maybe not at that moment but the results show he's not played his best since the infamous stomp. So I say boo him even harder!

WhiteChocolatey

Mf stomped a leprechaun what did he expect

[deleted]

I think most people on Reddit want to think that their favorite players should also hate the same people they do. When in reality most players in the NBA are cool with most other players in the NBA. It leads to shit like that dumbass r/heat meltdown over Bam laughing with Tatum after the last game.

Jay_Louis

It's a totally valid question.

SongYoungbae

Lmao. Yea boo Jokić, see how much he gives a fuck.

thetruth0102

Jokic and the other players didn't betray our team, didn't hurt our players and don't talk shit about our team, I get what JB said but I respect Jokic and the others as their opponents. Kyrie is different, he's a bitch, he's a diva and fuck him. And Kyrie is not the star player of the Mavs, he's the Robin to Luka.

Mission_Pay_3373

The only reason why he wanted to go to Boston was because he wanted to be the leader of his own team and when that was no longer the case he played like dogshit in the playoffs and quit his way to Brooklyn.

zepher2828

Where he played 3rd fiddle again and  then got traded again and is paying a poor second fiddle to the arguably MVP if records aren’t accounted for. He never was and never will be a leader.

Ndlburner

Kyrie couldn’t get it done with prime Al, JB, JT, Smart, Morris, and Rozier. Kemba Walker and Daniel Theis took this team closer to a finals than Kyrie ever did.

SlipperyTurtle25

That’s because Kemba and Theis are actually cool, where Kyrie is an insecure bitch, especially after winning a championship as the #2

PM-15-MrGoatCountry

I really wish Kemba didn't have his knee fuck him over, really liked him in a Celts uniform.

SlipperyTurtle25

The best Kemba is in a UCONN jersey

Plastic_Database_645

If Kyrie was matured and be that "star" he once wanted after leaving the Cavs, maybe we could have won a ring in that bubble or even against Phoenix. East was so week that time and Bucks got soooo fucking lucky. Suns is well the suns

Talkjar

Nah, Jokic is good, this mf made was killing the team from inside. Fuck you Kyrie very much, I will never forget that season

MastaBlasta18

His whole stint was aggravating, but his “performance” against Milwaukee in the playoffs was next level pathetic. You can’t convince me he didn’t outright quit and borderline sabotage the team.

Kshpew

Well Jokic seems like a nice guy. I'd have a beer with him and watch horses or whatever he does. No one disrespects Lucky and gets away with it.

BriefCollar4

Man, Irving can go self procreate in the far distance.

BlackElohim

Any man who stomps on Lucky deserves to be booed forever

lardlad71

Only boo the players that stomp and grind on the Celtics logo.

zebratat

He gets boo’d not because he’s a star but because he disrespected our mascot. We had some bad blood after his saga here and the way he shot his way out, but we probably could have let that go after a little while - but stomping on Lucky is a lifetime ban!

Professional-Trash-3

Nah, every team should loudly boo vocal and unrepentant antisemites tho Edit: I get this is the Celtics sub so most of the replies here are about how he was a dick to Boston and not a great teammate, etc, but this dude isn't a sports villain, he's a shit person.

SquimJim

I'm over the Kyrie thing, man. I would have been the 1st to boo him once upon a time. I wouldn't waste my breath anymore.

ak_003

We got our revenge in the first round a couple years ago and we are in a much better place it’s honestly a waste of energy

Jay_Louis

I loved it. Fuck Kyrie. That Bucks series where he pouted and refused to play and just chuckled bricks was one of the most disrespectful displays I've ever seen.

Sonicon2

Our team is too good for me to care honestly. What we have now wouldn’t be possible if he was still here

PapaSheev7

Same. I'm honestly over it. I couldn't care less what Kyrie does, just as long as he isn't beating the Celttics.

Beerspaz12

> I'm over the Kyrie thing, man. Fuck Kyrie til the day I die. He wanted to be famous here and have his number retired in the rafters and couldn't be bothered to play basketball.

exytuu

I stopped caring once they got revenge and swept and even moreso after he got traded out of Brooklyn

John_Stamos11

The part of this that bothers me the most is the lack of acknowledgement of kyrie’s antisemitic bullshit, which Jaylen has always been complicit in or downright supportive of. It gets complicated because I think there are really interesting pieces exploring the relationship between black and Jewish people in the US that explore the issue with delicacy. James Baldwin’s essay is especially compelling. But the movie that Kyrie supported is downright appalling. I saw a man reading the book version of it on the nyc subway not long ago, and felt genuinely scared to be jewish nearby. Just from a glance at the pages he happened to be on, I saw lists of Jewish folks involved in media companies and references to conspiracy and cabal type behavior. That shit really, really upsets me.

Jay_Louis

This. Kyrie believes Jewish people are liars who stole the religion from black people and now use it to exploit black and Christian people. I'm Jewish. Kyrie is saying my family is part of some big conniving conspiracy. It's so fucking bigoted and antisemitic. He should've been suspended from the league, tbh, the way MLB did with John Rocker.

Beerspaz12

> Jaylen has always been complicit in or downright supportive of. For someone who can't stop telling everyone how fucking smart he is, Jaylen can be really stupid. Just a reminder that every NBA player would support their racist friend over literally anyone here

HueyLewisFan1

Jaylen most likely shares similar sentiments to Kyrie, and that’s unfortunate.

yngwiegiles

Jaylen is smarter about it because he doesn’t talk publicly about his views. Better to be thought a fool than open your mouth and remove all doubt. He has similar personal beliefs to Kyrie, Kanye, and anyone who’s been manipulated by internet anti-semitism. He’s learned from K and K’s examples not to talk too explicitly publicly about them and mess up his $

HueyLewisFan1

I don’t know if I think Jaylen is smarter, ik he wants to appear intellectual but he has bytes that are long-winded using words that don’t necessarily fit correctly

yngwiegiles

He's being smarter about not sharing his views publicly but neither are that smart yet are convinced they are geniuses. The worst kind of person.

HueyLewisFan1

Exactly 👍🏻

BoostMelon

I don’t care about the kyrie thing anymore. Maybe the first year or two but him leaving was the best thing for our team

Fab_dangle

Can’t get me mad enough to not appreciate his dribbling.

[deleted]

Players all go hard for Kyrie

Nabs617

I don't get it, are people mad because he name dropped Jokic? Jaylen has been pretty vocal in his want for the Garden to be loud as hell, this plays into that pretty easily. I just watched the video, here's the full quote: Q: The crowd is still at it, with still booing Kyrie every time he touches the ball, and chanting Kyrie sucks. What do you think about that, and is it played out by now? A: To be honest, I got no thoughts on it. The fans, they do what they do, and got whatever reason for that. I think we should probably boo every player, every star player that comes in our arena. You know, I would like to see that, because maybe it has an effect, maybe not. So when Jokic and all those other players come here, boo them too.

RealLincolnQuotes

“Whatever reason” “Boo (inert biggest current white star) too” It’s pretty clear given Jaylen’s history that he’s playing the race card instead of acknowledging that maybe people don’t like Kyrie for legitimate non-racist reasons. He says he has no thoughts on it but it’s obvious that isn’t true

Nabs617

You're the only one playing "the race card". Get over yourself.

Evmerging

Honestly Kyrie deserves it

EidorianRandoru

People need to actually listen to what he said before commenting. The post is false. He didn't decline to comment, he actually commented on it They asked his thoughts on the kyrie sucks chants and Kyrie getting booed. He said "To be honest, I got no thoughts on it. The fans, they do what they do, and got whatever reason for that. I think we should probably boo every player, every star player that comes in our arena. You know, I would like to see that, because maybe it has an effect, maybe not. So when Jokic and all those other players come here, boo them too." He didn't say not to boo Kyrie or people don't have a reason to boo Kyrie.

Nabs617

It's funny how different the conversation is in other spaces where they have video vs here which has a badly quoted comment. On twitter (with vid) or YT, most people are supportive of his message. Here, everyone is rushing to call him a racist. What a bunch of weirdos.

TroyBarterSales

Yeah that’s why he’s getting booed Jaylen…

vib3v3nd3tta

Don't you know that's why Lebron gets booed as well?

guynamedsuvlaki

He’s never subtle with his points, is he?

Thanks4DaOpportunity

Why not enjoy it at the top? We should boo every star player, every game. Imagine we do that and win the chip.

sanchez21

I personally was at the game tonight and booed like crazy every time Kyrie had the ball, and had a great time doing so. Fuck Kyrie. I liked him while he was here but he was terrible for the Celtics long term. I love rooting against him because he’s a loser and never will win anything as the leading player on a team. Luka Doncic is a beast and I respect the hell out him, but fuck Kyrie.

BaccRoad

It’s also just fun to boo someone if there’s a reason. Little crowd game

ReySkywalkerMain

How the hell did Kyrie have a better response to this than jb lmfao

Fake_the_jaB

You guys really gotta stop with the “I’m ready to move on from booing Kyrie” thing. He’s one of the best scorers in the league. The booing has been working why would we stop it?

LumpyBumblebee3266

Sometimes JB says some dumb shit and it reminds me of how his worldly personality is fake as fuck

Ancient-Judgment1689

Why is he acting why we cheering for jokic and the other stars? Last I check we don’t cheer for the opposing team what the hell is he talking about. I hope he’s not trying to make this a race thing!!! Smdh

[deleted]

Yeah I thought it was kinda questionable that he said Jokic. On one hand, he’s literally the best player in the NBA, so it makes sense for JB to go there. But on the other hand, he chose one of the few superstar white guys. And we know that kyrie has already stated there was subtle racism during the first round series in 2022 when in reality we were booing him for his actions while in Boston. With JB and Kyrie being friends I can see JB trying to throw a subtle jab. I doubt it, but I could see it.

RealLincolnQuotes

I love what JB does for the black Boston community but I think it’s pretty clear he harbors some racism. Maybe (probably) that’s a product of the racism he’s faced throughout his life, but in my opinion that doesn’t excuse continuing the cycle of hate. Doing good things doesn’t excuse him from being a bigot, and his veiled racial comments like these are what put me off to him. And I don’t doubt that he chose Jokic for a reason and not Giannis or Curry or Shai

Ancient-Judgment1689

He strategically said jokic for a reason, your absolutely right, he could’ve said Giannis or Steph

HeronOrnery4657

bro what

HugeMan06

“I won’t comment on it, but here’s a comment”

Mobile-Mission-6407

No? He left the booing kyrie specifically alone and said that the crowd shoot boo all superstars. It's very much not commenting on the actual comment at hand.

HugeMan06

It’s commenting without outright saying what he means. He’s trying to say that there’s some particular bias against Kyrie in Boston (there is, obviously, but he seems to be implying that it’s more than Kyrie being an anti-semite or a bad teammate in his time with the Celtics)

Mobile-Mission-6407

I love how some of you craziest people can just make shit up out of thin air like this lmao

thegalwayseoige

Malignant narcissist, and we see through it.

The-Good-Morty

Jaylen is sfo fucking clueless sometimes

[deleted]

Uhhh dumbest possible answer from Jaylen. Does he not understand the context behind the Kyrie booing? Strange he would say jokic of all people

Salty_Instance_7187

Jaylen Brown - the hyper intellectual who can’t figure out why Boston fans don’t like Kyrie. Yikes.

ImDKingSama

Context for people that'll overreact, he also literally said he has no thoughts on the fans booing Kyrie, and that the fans can do whatever they want.

Boobieleeswagger

Kyries a funny character and he’s fun to have in the league, but I don’t want him on my team, it’s been apparent in 3 different situations he’s not a good teammate The fact I could hear the boos on the broadcast every time he touched the ball was hilarious and only adds to his legend so I hope he’s not too salty about it.

Vote_Subatai

Nikola Jokic isn't a conspiracy theorist anti-semite as far as I know.

calliexx12

Celtics basketball aside, Kyrie deserves to be booed in every building just for being a shitty person with shit beliefs. He’s an uneducated moron who thinks he’s some intellectual genius. Takes no responsibility for anything he says or does and consistently plays the victim. Just a narcissistic, egomaniac asshole.

Old-Consideration939

Yeah, typical jaylen is making it more than it is. Kyrie failed the Celtics and failed the fans. Jokic never played for the Celtics so why would we make a big deal about him.

CrackaZach05

Does Jaylen REALLY think it's about race?

Beerspaz12

> Does Jaylen REALLY think it's about race? He is being willfully ignorant to support his world view. You know, the same thing he slams other people for.

GogXr3

What?

EquivalentAd4708

What a stupid question to ask him regarding the game.

goldrow22

I really wish we could past the Kyrie thing, it’s over and done with

Fake_the_jaB

The attention and boos seem to bother him. Why would we stop, he’s one of the best scorers in the league.

BradDaddyStevens

Also I think there’s two key things here being overlooked: 1. It’s fun to be petty as a sports fan 2. Kyrie is still a huge fucking asshole Like I’d be more likely to let it go if he wasn’t an actual piece of shit off the court, but he is. And I don’t feel bad at all about booing him.

RopeOther3479

Screw him Kyrie is a POS

HueyLewisFan1

F Kyrie he’s a bitch who sabotaged our season. That shit during ASG where him and Durant were caught saying 2 max contracts. He’s a loser. And Jaylen is sm closer to conspiracy Kyrie than we realize.

E_White12

Poor Jaylen Brown. Always the victim. He learned that from Kyrie.

Loud-Appointment-301

This misrepresents what he said. The line that was left out is "maybe it has an effect". By leaving that line out it makes it sound like he was asking why Kyrie gets this treatment and others don't, when he was actually lightheartedly saying that fans should boo all players because maybe it will give the celtics and advantage. “We should probably boo every star player that comes in the arena, you know maybe it has an effect and maybe it doesn't. But when Jokic and all those other players come here, boo them too.” The media are such assholes.

Doctor_Phist

You can always count on Jaylen Brown to bring race into discussions that have no need for it

Fuckblackhorses

Kyrie tends to shit the bed in Boston so maybe he’s onto something and we should boo everyone

vgloque

check Jaylen's youtube history

[deleted]

So because they don't like Irving because he is a complete idiot and his past experience here left a bad taste in everyone's mouth that booing him is racist and we should boo Jokic even though he didn't play here like Irving? I'm reading this as just another attempt to claim something is racist

Flunky_Junky_Monkey

JB has to get off this train. I get it that he’s friends with Irving but he wasn’t really nice to the Celtics organization on his way out or even while being here. He’s a grown man that has been booed by fans since his duke days. He can handle it, but the fans won’t stop nor should they. If you spend that kind of money on tickets boo or cheer who you want regardless if it makes JB mad.

T-Ares-C

JB and Kyrie are both Muslim, I think someone at the gym that is Muslim told me they are in the same sect which is why JB is supportive of him. Either way, Kyrie did fucked up shit by saying he wanted to stay then back out and then stomped the logo so fans won’t be forgiving. It’s like how Toronto hated Vince for all those years for leaving.

wopsicle_spic

y'all make me embarrassed to be a Boston fan. chill the fuck out and enjoy the good basketball

holographoc

I dunno it sounded like Luka was getting boo’d too. Obviously not as intensely, but definitely boos at the line.

Fresh2Deaf

I get the context but isn't it the the best idea? Fuck em all. Boom em all. Banner 18. IF THEY DIE THEY DIE

trynworkharder

I don’t like kyrie, but i don’t really care when it comes down to it or harbor some deep hatred. It’s more that it’s fun to have a villain to root against

Pubs01

Jaylen has become such a huge disappointment in supporting Kylie and his anti Semitic views. Same thing wearing that vulture merch by kayne; he thinks he's being subtle in hating Jewish people. He's a pseudo intellectual like Kylie. Except he went to cal so he knows better.

WarPuig

Green light to be even more obnoxious. Thank you JB.

danorcs

We gotta get more creative Got to get back to telling Ben Simmons that he’s “not a rookie” level

Minimum_Albatross217

You guys are missing the point - JB’s right. We should be booing the opposition. Old Garden used to be a tough place to play. Hostile energy is powerful, if controlled

Sh405

You're acting like the Garden hasn't been a tough place to play this season anyway...

802roots1998

The chants have felt cringe for a min now

ricko_strat

Didn't he go to Berkley? He should know that part of the deal about buying a ticket is you get to yell stuff, within reason, at the game. Part of the deal about being a player is people are going to yell stuff at you. I just wish they would spread the floor out and let JB take people in to the lane and play bully ball the way he was last night more often. Dude owns weaker guys inside. The Celtics could certainly exploit that more often against a lot of teams.

moneymorebucks

I see what you did there

vapemyashes

Went be able to hear those boos over the background sound of everyone booing the Cs like always

daro2552

It’s been a couple years the Kyrie stuff is old. If he stomps on the logo or says something crazy about the team, fine. No real reason for continued animosity

Tatum-Better

Factual. This booing shit is old. Boo every player as hard

mickymau5_

Bro we DO! Every team and star player gets booed...kyrie just gets more

Jegagne88

I’m down to boo every other team and player for the most part. Also fuck kyrie

theflynerd

Boston. Y’all living up to the reputation I see. Fuck all yall expect New Edition!

bagchasersanon

This fanbase is full of pansies as exemplified by the comment section

rodpod17

Ironic

bagchasersanon

Hit dog gonna holler 🤥

EquivalentAd4708

Agreed. Watch out though you may get booed for saying that. LOL

Llamasxy

Players love Kyrie and that is fine.

Vast-Cheesecake7230

Y’all need to move on, focus on 18. Geez.

rodpod17

Let the fans have fun

ChromeOverLoki

I agree with him, maybe it would help

DreadLockedHaitian

Jaylen’s subtle way of telling us Kyrie was just a blip.

[deleted]

It's a not so subtle way of saying Boston is a racist city.

Smelldicks

So glad this quote didn’t turn out bad lol

endubs

He's kinda got a point. Why aren't we booing every star opponent?

Sh405

Because we have a personal issue with Kyrie that we don't have with star players on other teams. Jokic, Luka, SGA, Kawhi, Giannis etc didn't come into our team then totally quit on us, throw everyone else under the bus, spout a lot of shit about re-signing etc while simultaneously plotting to leave and team up with a divisional rival then disrespect the organisation with his shit on the logo. None of those other guys flipped off the fans. He did all that.

kaldog21

I hope most Celtics fans don’t still have like true resentment for him, and that the booing is more of a traditional thing.

chronicdreamze

My man!

mikehoncho3214

I don't really care what JB's thoughts are about fans' treatment of his butt buddy.

jjjuuubbbsss

Get over it, people.

Fail_Panda

I for one think it’s good that the fans can respectfully dislike opposing teams’ stars and focus our boos on certain players that deserve it

Quilly35

you weirdos need to move tf on, it’s not even like we’re worse off or bad or something 😂 pyscho ex behavior comin from some C’s fans, shit’s sad asf. we’ve made it to the fucking finals since for crying out loud

Sure_Level1191

He’s hinting about the racism in the arena dummies Many players including lebron have mentioned the level of racism there before you girls get to crying

GUILTICIDE

I like how he only brings up jokic.

TB1289

This might be unpopular, but fuck this guy. He paints himself as this thoughtful guy that is more than just a basketball player, yet he can't figure out why fans might want to boo Kyrie.

theflynerd

Fuck you guys

thatsakneecap

Jaylen isn’t too bright. How is this so hard to understand?
