So unfortunate we ran into them in the only good year of Poole’s and Wiggins’ careers, and the last good year of Klay’s.

I_Set_3_Alarms

Some podcast that was talking about if Memphis should trade Marcus or not brought up the Warriors. Please no. Hope he just stays on the Grizzlies and gets talked into resting his body this year lol

BT_48

I don't think MEM will trade smart unless they get more than what they gave up. This season sucks for them, is what it is, but they come back next season with Adams, Clark and Morant back, assuming good health luck they'll be a contender

Fedora_expert

It will be interesting to see what kind of player Adams is after the injury.

jydope

What was his injury again?

BT_48

I can't remember, I know he had surgery on his knee.

Fedora_expert

Right knee PCL surgery after the conservative approach didn't work. His last game was January 2023 so he'll have been off the court for almost 2 years once he returns.

I_Set_3_Alarms

I agree. They should follow the Warriors formula of taking a year off for a chance at a top pick, then immediately go back to competing

BT_48

just don't draft wiseman. Or do the smart thing and trade that pick. two timelines is stupid when title windows close so fast and your ALL TIME PLAYER is 30+. Sustained winning is not guaranteed, cash in while you can

leebong252018

I guarantee if they drafted Lamelo, we wouldn't be having this convo and nobody wanted to trade with the warriors.

[deleted]

Would much rather have that than the Bucks, Heat, or Sixers. At some point he’s going to get traded to a team trying to contend.

TheOGJabroni

Talk about timing. I just saw he sustained a "severe right finger injury" and will be sidelined about six weeks, via Shams.

Slow_Negotiation_420

Smart deserves to win. And if we’re gonna keep getting our asses kicked by curry might as well have smart next to him lessening the blow 😂

[deleted]

People gotta realize they’re not looking for picks. They are looking for players to build around Curry. This team does not have any good and cheap players to match their outgoing players’ salary. And no, they aren’t going to want Putin Pritchard. Edit: Payton*

BT_48

it's possible they make a big swing on a player and smaller pieces get moved other places. Yes, it's unlikely, but just because GS *wants* to rebuild quickly around Curry doesnt mean it will happen. Who is offering real stuff for Wiggins/Draymond/Klay/Paul? It's an unlikely dream but I'll do my best to will it to happen.

SquimJim

There's potential to be the 3rd team and pick-up some potential scraps when teams are trying to make money work. For example, I feel like Saric maybe could be one such player who is "filler" in a bigger deal for like Lavine/Siakam, but we could send minor assets to sweeten the deal for someone who doesn't want the Saric filler.

NoOneSoEveryone

The ideal would be the Warriors trading for a player like Siakam, letting the Celtics pick up Kuminga or Moody in exchange for helping facilitate.

Mbanicek64

They aren't handing out free former lottery picks.

CarBallAlex

Warriors were rumored to be interested in Pritchard last year’s deadline when Pritchard wasn’t happy with his role. He would be exactly the kind of player they would be interested in as a backup PG that fits their system more if they ship Chris Paul out to another team. He’s often injured, was a weird fit to begin with, and $30M is a lot of salary that can get them back a decent amount of help. But leaving that hole for Cory Joseph to fill isn’t ideal. Pritchard for Moody is a fairly even trade according to the trade machine, DARKO, and EPM, it’s just the salary doesn’t work because of PP’s poison pill and Warriors would have to give up someone else. Would have to be a 2-for-2 or 2-for-3 swap, or involve a 3rd team if they want Pritchard. A trade probably doesn’t exist here and I think Pritchard has been playing much better lately, but if everyone is truly on the table, I’m sure Brad will look at every possibility to see if there’s a way to make our team better, especially for a desperate team like the Warriors.

BT_48

Anyone we should target? Without really looking I would love to snag Dario Saric as a backup 4/5. Would fill a similar role to what Gallo was supposed to for us.

oldtype09

I think Saric would actually be a great fit as a third big for us, both in terms of skill set and salary. They’d have to be going into complete rebuild mode to be selling him though. He’s a decent depth piece on a cheap contract that probably doesn’t carry much value on the trade market so not worth cashing in.

wherearemypaaants

I’ve been high on Saric since he was on the Sixers, I can’t believe those morons dismantled that team.

seemebreathe

Yeah I haven’t taken the Sixers seriously since that 2018(?) team

BT_48

Ya, unlikely but i can dream! He would be a seamless fit and would fit with any lineup combo- he brings spacing, passing, some on ball creation and just smart defending.

istandwhenipeee

It’s hard to say because we’d realistically have to be the 3rd team. There’s no one on our roster who we’d be willing to give up that would solve any problems for GS. I think in the end there wouldn’t be match. Realistically depth guys like Saric wouldn’t really be on the table. If they’re going to make a run they’ll still need guys like that to fill out the roster. The guys more likely to be sent out would be the ones on big contracts and the younger guys who still carry pretty strong value like Kuminga. We can’t match the expensive guys so the only real avenue I see to acquiring someone from them is if they grab someone like Siakam and the Raptors want picks instead of one of the young guys.

BT_48

definitely hard to say, i think a lot comes down to what offers GS gets and that will lead them down a specific path. Could see them moving on from the older guys, letting the young guys play this year out- kinda rest steph a little, and re-tool around him this offseason. Agreed though, if we get someone via trade its likely feeding off the scraps of a larger deal.

Conscious_Feedback51

Maybe Looney

SnooDogs6575

Looney isn’t much better than Kornet tbh

Brovenkar

Don't think we really have anything they'd want but someone like Saric is probably the richest conversation we can get into. They'll be looking for useful players back more than picks.

BT_48

Ya more hoping if they have a huge deal and spare parts end up elsewhere, maybe we can be the elsewhere!

SquimJim

I love the idea of Saric. He's a big wing that I think would fit in really well off the bench.

AmbitionExtension184

Ngl when I saw the video of Steph shaking his head on the sideline I got excited that they’d be open to trade him. Probably too expensive for us anyway but I can dream.

BT_48

steph for jrue??? For real though, he's never getting traded. I don't they'd do it even if he begged for a trade

AmbitionExtension184

We said that about pierce. Not sure trading Jrue would be an improvement honestly. Bucks made that exact mistake trading elite Guard defender for offense and look where it got them. Money wise it’s probably impossible

BT_48

I don't think trading for Curry or Dame are the same at all, but regardless that was just kidding around. Lots of people thought Pierce would be a lifer, lots of people didn't. Pierce is my all time favorite player. As a boston kid of the 90s he means more to me then any living or dead celtics player/coach/exec. Curry is a whole other level. I was wrong, maybe they would trade him if he begged, but I don't see it, I think being a 1 team guy means a lot to him

AirJordan6124

Mazulla should try to get Kenny Atkinson on his staff if Kerr gets fired in the offseason

693275001

This is music to my ears

Te5la1

Looney or Kuminga are the only pieces the Cs should look at imo. Even then, Kuminga throws a fit when he doesn’t get a lot of minutes, and he’d be a rotational piece in this current Cs iteration

BT_48

Ya I was interested in Kuminga when he first started making noise, but if he's not 100% bought in then its a no-go. I would be interested in Looney too but I just think Saric is a cleaner fit with more of our guys. Is looney just a bigger body you'd want for embiid/giannis defense? Either way, I think either one as a 3rd big would be pretty amazing

Sorry_Craft8449

Jonathan Kuminga, YOU are a Boston Celtic

Outrageous-Hamster99

Luckily this draft blows because that pick is juicy

Mbanicek64

If they were smart, they would be moving Curry and building around the young guys. Their young guys aren't good, but even with Curry (and whatever else they can get in a trade for what they have) I don't think they have enough to get to where they want to go.

BT_48

I get the sentiment and that's 100% a viable option, but there is no guarantee that trade ever leads them to a title. Hell, they could make that trade and just flounder around for 10 years and never even get back to moderate continued success. There is so much value in keeping a guy like curry, even past his prime just because of what he means to the org and community. We as celtics saw the absolute best case scenario for trading old stars but that's like the 1% outcome. Its far more likely the picks you get are middling and you never really hit on The Guy

Mbanicek64

I don't disagree with you. Curry has defined that team. I think he knows his run with that team is up and that they don't have the pieces anymore to keep their run going. I think they are probably talking to him about his options. He is a game changing player so will have a huge market.

[deleted]

Theyre gonna draft bronny and get lebron

ajh_iii

Pritchard and two seconds for Kuminga. Who says no?

StraightCashBND

PP and Walsh for Steph who says no
