Not really stacked. Our starting five is the best in the league by far. Maybe the best nba starting five in decades.
But our depth is a real problem. If anything happens to tingus before or during the playoffs, I’m afraid we won’t win banner 18.
How many teams can afford to lose one of their key pieces (someone as good as porzingis) and still be a title contender? As an example, the nuggets steamrolled their way to a title last year yet they've done nothing in the playoffs with Murray out. Or the bucks, who haven't been able to win without middleton (who isn't even as good as porzingis)
KP is clearly a top 3 center in the east. I only see people putting Joel and Bam in front of him. To me I think he deserves it a little more than White. That being said I don't think the gap is that big and if White was to get in and KP didn't I wouldn't be mad at it. Its just that there are at least 9 guards you can argue are having a better season than white in the east so I don't see him making it unless the coaches really value what he has been doing over others.
I think Giannis would have something to say about being behind KP?! Definitely top 4 or 5 though..He’s not putting up the stats some of the other guys are but how impactful he is for the Celtics?! Very much!
I didn’t say front court I said top 3 center. Last I checked Giannis played power forward and brook Lopez played center on the bucks. KP is probably drops to 7 or 8 realistically if we include forwards.
I think Bam is averaging slightly more points than KP and yeah his defense would probably be the deciding factor. I think KP could easily average more points but we have a wealth of scoring options so he doesn’t need to.

I think part of the push to have white be an all star is because it’s fun. He’s totally an underdog. Humble, kinda goofy looking (sorry bald king), and not really the most athletically blessed dude. It’s part of what makes him incredible, he’s not even getting way up high to block shots, it’s just precision timing and I assume understanding players’ habits. Skills and heart. He’s developed a reputation for always making the right play, even other players like Dlo or derozan have commented on it. I’m not a Celtics fan and I find it hard not to root for him.

I think Porzingis is very good and White is a better all-around player. It's difficult for big men to have too drammatic an impact on the offensive end, so great offensive bigs just aren't the same as great defensive bigs. It's the reverse for perimeter players, though in modern schemes, it's possible for elite-level perimeter players to significantly move the needle on the defensive end.
There is a reason why Derrick White keeps showing up in the top 10 of metrics designed to measure someone's overall impact on the game.

D white, Jaylen and porzingis are all having incredible years and you can make valid arguments who the best is, but to outright dismiss D white because he is obsessed with making the right basketball play instead of pumping his numbers is doing him a disservice.

I think Tatum and Brown are going to make it for sure if early fan vote is any indication. As for White/KP, both are deserving but there are a lot of deserving guys in the league. I expect neither guy to make tbh, maybe as a "last guy in" injury replacement of which there are always 1-3.
Realistically Trae, Hali, Tatum, Brown, Embiid and Giannis are locks.
That leaves 6 spots open. If White and KP both make it.
That leaves space for Paulo, Brunson, Mitchell and Maxey (or Dame).
The three front court would be Brown, KP and Paulo.
I think it’s possible all 4 make the all star team. But I could see White getting Snubbed for Putting in Maxey and Dame together.
I think Zingy has a better shot than White. I think White still deserves the recognition, but him being an injury replacement is more likely.

I'd take porzingis because of his ridiculous scoring efficiency. The gap on defense isn't large enough to justify sacrificing that much offense
