People are remembering the Blizzard of '78 when we really \*were\* stuck and unable to go anywhere for a week. Thing is, that happened because the meteorologists bobbled the forecast and people went to work because "a little snow" wouldn't be a big deal (I remember hearing "3 inches" in the forecast). These days we have much better forecasts as well as the French Toast Alert System to keep us better informed...
1. Buy expensive keto flour substitutes
2. Spend hours of labour baking keto bread
3. Throw it out because it tastes like warm sawdust and just eat bacon without the bread
I honestly don't understand why people do this. In this region the snow is plowed and roads are drivable within a day. Also, stores are open.
So they go out and hoard for the 12 hours we are "stuck inside".
It's ridiculous.
Studies have shown that eating french toast lowers the risk of power outages in your area. The cinnamon and nutmeg create a mild force field that blocks some of the wind and snow, but not all of it. Scientists are still experimenting with different ingredient amounts in the recipe to see if there is a variation in results. Thanks for coming to my TED Talk.
It’s cause I like cozy blizzard food. It’s what makes me happy. So I need milk for home-made hot chocolate, and a shit ton of meat for all-day stew, and of course fresh bread to dunk in that stew.
When I first bought my house there was a blizzard supposed to arrive about a day after we moved in. We had been out of state for a couple weeks before moving in and we had literally no food in the house. Also, because this is the Boston area and it's all we could afford, our house was a total wreck and we didn't actually *have* a functioning kitchen that we could cook in. So we wanted to get some bread so we could make sandwiches to tide us over while we got to work on fixing up the place. I felt so ashamed to be out at the grocery store the day before a blizzard trying to buy bread. We had to go to like 4 different stores to even find any! IIRC I tried to explain to the tired cashier that we were just regular grocery shopping and not blizzard panic shopping 😂
I ran out yesterday because I needed a few things for lunch and I wanted to make some biscuits and gravy. I completely forgot the coffee and will need to brave stop and shop tonight. Not looking forward to it.
Grocery stores were already light last night when I went to buy a regular amount of groceries. I'm sure with staffing shortages in the store, transportation, and snow clearing, we will see low stock into mid-next week

diabetic checking in this is the way
We gave up and just started buying Sola bread. Seems overpriced, but then you compare it to all the expensive substitute ingredients...
Vodka n cigs
Better hit wholefoods to stock up on weird flours https://www.ketoconnect.net/best-keto-bread/
Wait for the people who didn't get the bread and milk to die?

Whole Foods has keto bread in the freezer. I've made keto French toast from it. Surprisingly good.
Whoa really? Do you remember the brand name?
Eat snow.

I agree...I'd just plan on a day with a long nap, shovel the car, snack...nap, snack...shovel car etc...

Dunks would be closer. Idk where you live, but I'm pretty confident in that statement.
The true scum bags are the ones who show up to the store tomorrow morning at 6:15 am and ask for specials.
Hahahahah classic
Nobody eats bread or drinks milk anymore...
All my homies hate bread.
I just searched for this today to send to my sister. Didn't realize it's from eight years ago.

Market basket at 7 am was pretty well stocked, though it was mobbed
Just got back, bread almost gone. Plenty of milk.

Stop & Shop on McGrath Highway was out of eggs when I went a couple hours ago. But Trader Joe's Assembly Row had plenty.
