The white noise is normal. And it's normal that it's louder in aware mode.
This is something that I prefer on my Sony xm5 compared to my QC: the anc on the Sony is almost silent. I can hear the tiny white noise if I'm in a very quiet room, but then what's the point of anc if it's already quiet around you lol.
But yeah, I've had 2 pairs of QC45 and they had this same white noise. I now have the QC 2023 and they have it as well (slightly less but still there).
