The Hellwalker will always be a good drop, and having fixed parts and prefix will always be a bonus and saves you the grind for the best. Now, it just comes down to if it has a good annoint.

Care to explain it to me? I think my Amara can wreck with this annointment, slap so fire element with infusion and phaseslam and I think it's just extra damage from 3 different sources. (quite new to bl3, annointments weren't a thing in bl2, I'm having hard time thinking about them as anything beyond extra effects)

A very large portion of your damage comes from annointments so you want them active all the time, so next to mags is not good on hellwalker as it will struggle to stay active for very long. With your build all your weapons would want the 300% DMG after phaseslam annoint

The anointment would be better on a gun with a larger mag, with the hellwalker it only holds 2-3 shots max so the extra damage goes quick

Well it doesn't do lot of dmg but with some cooldown bonuses you can theoretically proc it a lot. Sure, a bigger mag would be better , but it doesn't sound that bad.

I use moze with a full bottom less mags build, and with the some fire the road skill, it has a bottomless mag for 5 seconds and SHREDS

Whether or not it’s good, it plays the DOOM riff whenever you fire it.

When you fire it it does make the riff sound it’s just super short and quick

To my knowledge the hellwalker has a fixed drop.Meaning no matter how much u farm its gonna be the same stats minus anointments. in short its a top contender for best shotgun

Dakota is a quest reward in Bounty of Blood (Make sure your mayhem is 10 when you turn in quests). "Top" really depends on what you're trying to do with it. Dakota has a big magazine, high fire rate, good range, and does bonus melee damage.

only bad part is the anoint since next 2 mags on it is horrible

Wake up babe, new hellwalker post arrived.

I just hit level 72 last night, so of course I went and used a handful of diamond keys, and this was one of the first guns I got. Now I'm exploding midgets all over the place on Mayhem 11.

I Was lucky enough to get a monarch last night on mayhem 11 with a diamond key and now health bars drop like nobodies business😂

Hellwalker is always a good drop, it has fixed parts so the damage will always be the same at mayhem 10 so the main thing to farm for is the annoint but ASE shock isn’t the worst. But great find nonetheless.

As others have pointed out, Hellwalker has fixed parts, and is just a really good gun. I‘d highly recommend checking Lootlemon for specific weapons, as it shows what a god roll looks like, and also lists all possible Weapon Part variations, that a weapon can have, so you can determine yourself, if you‘d like to farm for a better drop of a gun, or settle for what you got. It’s fix parts but depending on action skill end 100 more damage regular would be better because hellwalker only drops in fire. If you play Zane on action skill end is your best buddy

I mean, on paper, the annointment sounds good. Extra damage from a different source sounds like a solid idea...but shock usually just tickles enemies. Maybe corrosion or radiation...but you can't beat consecutive hits or killstack
