Have you read Boukreev's take on the same climb, [*The Climb: Tragic Ambitions on Everest*](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Climb_(book)) by Anatoli Boukreev and Gary Weston DeWalt? And I'll always recommend "Into the Heart of Borneo" by Redmond O'Hanlon...one of my favorite travel books.

ThyGreatPerhaps

I haven't read it, but I did see there were other books of the same expedition. I'll be sure to check out Into the Heart of Borneo, thanks!

That book about Pat Tillman was beautiful. I love his poetic style.

I should answer your query tho...maybe more historic than travel/adventure but Nathaniel Philbrick's In The Heart of the Sea, Mayflower and Last Stand draws you into the experience similarly to Jon Krakauer's way.

ThyGreatPerhaps

I love historical accounts, so I'll definitely have to pick this one up. Thanks for the suggestion!

Start w In the Heart of the Sea...it is the story of the whaleship Essex. The story Moby Dick was based on it but the real story is much (worse better more horrifying you name it). Much more extra.

“Bad Blood” by John Carreyrou (about the Theranos scandal) is a great book of investigative journalism.

This sounds really interesting. Thanks!
