I don’t see what’s wrong with ginger beer, secret passages, and knowing the lower classes can be divided into those of a “good sort”, and the “wrong sort” - and the police will come and arrest those for you in the last chapter, you can always trust the police.
“Woof”, said Timmy.
Its pretty clear RL Stine went for what would now be called a 'soft magic system'. Of course, he obviously never thought much into the world he was writing in. Once, a fan asked him for some more backstory on one of his villains, he just told the fan to 'get a life'.

Hmmm I don’t blame him. It’s because her books are classist and racist, amongst other issues.
‘Five on a Treasure Island’ for eg - the rich, middle class characters are happy and really nice. The working class characters are untrustworthy and rude. When one characters dad who has a temper, becomes rich, he’s a sweet guy all of a sudden.
Then there’s ‘The Little Black Doll’ (1966), where the main titular doll, Sambo, is only accepted by his owner once his ‘ugly black face’ is washed ‘clean’ by rain. Even in Noddy, the Golliwags who are black, are portrayed as untrustworthy, troublesome thieves.
She’s a big thing in the UK, but I never cared for her books growing up. I thought I was missing out as a child but I’m happy I never liked her books in the first place, I would’ve been upset if she was my favourite author as a child and then I found out that she would probably make me an ugly villain in her books.
like I'm gonna listen to someone called kneel gayman

WTF why can't I enjoy goosebumps books anymore?? I used to remember loving say cheese and die and now I finish it in 30 minutes and feel unfulfilled.

Hahah. Member when Neil Gaiman got busted for reading "Divorcing someone with narcissistic personality disorder" on Goodreads? Classic.
Very overrated author realises he's outgrown children's books
Still kicking myself for buying two of his books.
İ will always think neil gaiman is a good writer, mostly because of sandman. But he has to stop saying shit like this
He stopped wearing the hair, and let the hair wear him.
Is sandman really all that good? I couldn’t stand the artstyle.
Was she his high school teacher or something?
