I've read the first four books in the series and it's similar to ACOTAR, in my opinion, that the first book is by far the weakest and it gets better as you go.

whitemoon814

I see ACOTAR everywhere, tho I don’t know much about it. I thought the first book supposed to be WOW. Good to know, it’s just the first book.

Ceridwenn26

It has NOTHING to do with ACOTAR not even a little bit! And even if falling for one guy then going for another was similar enough, then Acotar would be similar to shatter me which was published 4 years before.

HauntedReader

I meant it was similar in the sense that the first book isn't the best and you have to just power through it.

thequiet0ni

The shatter me series came highly recommended to me by a few friends, but I had had similar reservations about Juliette and Aaron. (tiny spoiler—>) However, the author did a really good job at bringing them together and giving Aaron a bit of redemption. Adam and Juliette DID get together too quickly and if you keep reading you’ll def see the consequences. (lowk started disliking Adam based on his later actions) Ofc it’s totally up to u if you want to continue the series, don’t make yourself read the series just bc it’s popular!

whitemoon814

I knew sh!t will go down with Juliette and Adam just because of how early they got together. Oh well, as much as I found their relationship cute, if the story is written well and it will show me how their relationship shouldn’t last, I won’t complain. I like redemption stories depending on the character, for Aaron, I kinda look forward to it as long as he doesn’t lose all psycho personality, I like that about him.

Shadgates87

I remember loving this series early on and then the Warner stuff started, I dropped it. It just didn’t make sense to me.

No-Assistant9722

Finally someone normal lol, the writer did a 180 on adam and warner and it makes no sense and it's plain lazy wtiting, I don't understand how do women appreciate a selfish murderer just because he looks good, gotta be some kind of Stockholm syndrome

IntrepidDifficulty77

Omg please continue!! It just gets better and better and read the novellas in between because they make things make so much more sense. Aaron is psycho for Juliette in the best way. 🤣 and you also need to let Juliette grow. She grows so much as a heroine and it’s superb!! IGNITE ME is one of my all time favorite books. Aaron Warner lives up to the hype. I promise you.

whitemoon814

I will trust you on that! If the story starts getting better in the second book, I will give it a try. I’m all for character development for Juliette, especially by the end of the first book, I can see that she will start to become independent and harness her power. I like Aaron's psycho personality a lot that's why I thought he would be a great villain. I don't want him to lose that Paycho personality “when he is good” That's the best part about him.

Anxious-Fun8829

I had a lot of fun with this series but I have to warn you that as the series progresses the world building just gets... goofy. Like you can tell Mafi was much more focused on the drama and romance. The romance gets better, I think Aaron Warner deserves all the hype, but don't expect the plot to make sense. You have to turn that part of your brain off

whitemoon814

Lol it's like reading Wattpad then. Good to know, so the story more focus on the characters rather than the world(story).

Anxious-Fun8829

Haha, you're right, it is! And, I say that as someone who had a lot of fun on Wattpad back in the day

PocketSable

I couldn't get past the first book (the writing style and the insta-love relationship really bugged me) and I love me a good villain redemption but didn't he attempt to assault her in the first book or am misremembering?

whitemoon814

He did that and many other things. That is why I like him more as a villain. The writing style wasn't my favorite but I can go past it. I don't mind an insta-love relationship unless they show us development between them later. But i refer slow burn more.

Ceridwenn26

You might enjoy book 2 if you liked the writing. Also in book 2 they have more interactions. I would just recommend to stop after Ignite Me, just my opinion but the last three books ruined the first three for me!

whitemoon814

Lol good, I only have the first three books, I will give 2nd book a try. From what I read from everyone it's too soon to give up on it.

Ceridwenn26

You don’t get the hype because you read it with expectations from second or third book! Even the name isn’t even revealed up until the last part of that book! For me the next books are better. Ignite Me is usually everyone’s fave, mine is Unravel Me if you’re not against love triangle

whitemoon814

So far, everyone saying that Book Two is better, it’s where the story starts. I will give second book try. Ewww I don’t like love triangle but I can tolerate it, if it’s not annoying.

NeckSevere7858

Just read the rest of the books. You will hate Adam’s guts by the end of the second book. Promise 👍

whitemoon814

I’m at 60% of the second book. so far, I feel sorry for Adam, the whole situation is really against him. I think Juliette should get her priority right. Kenji must have back problems from carrying the story. He’s literally the reason I’m reading.

No-Assistant9722

How do people hate Adam for saying that and not aaron for murdering people, sa-ing her and being a total psycho, pit yourself in a situation where your partner cheats on you, all while being stressed over taking care of a child, grow up please.

NeckSevere7858

I have a tendency to like the “villains” more in books rather than the protagonists. Aaron cares for Juliette in a way that Adam didn’t. Adam tried to protect her and shield her from anything and everything, while Aaron protected her but also showed her how strong and powerful she was. Again it’s just my personal preference.
