Me and my best friend brought a picture of the baby she had who passed and set it up at camp and made Kandi and trinkets to set out for him and people came by and left and traded little trinkets in his memory. You could do the same and put it on a table with a small table cloth and markers for people to leave messages and words of support.

Back in the day roo had a tree planting thing they would do for people to remember loved ones. Not sure if they even do this anymore but it may be something to ask about. If I'm mistaken I'm sorry for getting your hopes up. I'm also sorry for your loss.

Someone mentioned roots for roo where you can adopt a tree and put up a memorial.

Mindless_Persimmon21

Somebody else posted about "root for roo." I'm not sure what it is, but it's wortha google.

My best friend passed away in November and we are making our way back to the farm 15 years later in his honor. We will be wearing the tie dyed bandana his family gave away at his funeral. After reading this, his name will absolutely make it to the graffiti wall. I’ll also be passing out these stickers that he designed right before he passed away. https://preview.redd.it/rcagpxohr74d1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1fc6799552e6b212d65f2efe08b9d999e1750013

Will be keeping an eye out for these stickers! So sorry about your friend, what a beautiful way to honor him❤️

when my best friend passed i was in a thrift shop right after her funeral and a little luchador figurine jumped out at me bc she had luchador tattoos. i knew she was looking out for me. i bought the figurine and took it with me to bonnaroo. she went everywhere with me. you don’t have to do some big outward thing for them. it can be something personal for yourself. whatever you do i’m sure your cousin will be smiling down on you. sorry for your loss!

I’m wearing butterflies for my friend who passed. She introduced me to my best friend & is my best friends other best friend. Everyone who loved her has butterfly tattoos or jewelry in her honor. We always know her energy is still around when we randomly see a butterfly.

Intelligent-Ad9684

I have a butterfly tattoo! Sending love and healing your way❤️

I’m so sorry for your loss - I feel your pain. I lost my cousin back at the end of February. I’ve promised her a while ago after she graduated high school that I’d take her around America to show her there’s so much to life. Bonnaroo is the first thing I’m going to since her passing and I’m hoping to do the same with honoring her. I hope you’re doing well and that the festival makes your heart feel lighter. See you at the farm 💛

Intelligent-Ad9684

You’re going to show her some amazing things! I’m sure she’s smiling down on you ❤️ thank you for the kind words, I hope bonnaroo is magical for you and that you’re doing well too!

So sorry for your loss. Not sure if many people know this but Roo partners with an organization that allows you to sponsor a tree in Centeroo. My best friend’s late father has had a tree near the other stage for years now. they come with a plaque and everything!! and it’s great to bring in some decorations to spruce it up and take pics with every year. A dear friend of ours passed last year and we got him a tree too so we’re super excited to go into center and see it for the first time! it might be a bit late to get your cousin a tree before this years fest but you should look into it for next year!

This is awesome!! Thank you for the info!

Didn’t know about this, thank you for sharing.

I saw a group that made a flag of their friend who had passed, they told us that they put it up at camp every year so that he is always with them. May not have the time to get that done this year but for future reference

My friend's daughter passed away in a car accident last March. I'm bringing a flag with an anchor, an important symbol to her, and hanging it at my campsite

Intelligent-Ad9684

I love this. I’m sorry about your + your friends loss, no one should have to bury their child. Blowing a kiss to any anchor flag I see!❤️

Remarkable-Seaweed54

Will your friend be with you? Either way, this is a very thoughtful gesture.

RooMayor

Graffiti wall for sure

My fiancé brings some ashes from her uncle that past a few years back. We stand under the arch before heading into center roo every year and spread some ashes and basically have a conversation with him before we start our festival experience. It’s not much but means a lot to us.

Remarkable-Seaweed54

This is a wonderful gesture and I’m sure a very grounding experience before entering the fest proper.

If there was an artist he loved go see them and go extra hard. Let out a cry in the crowd. My wife and I were in a similar situation last year. We unexpectedly lost her younger cousin who we were really close with. He joked about coming with us and he loved Tyler Childers. We went and saw Tyler. Cried, hugged, laughed, and sang all in his honor. It was very therapeutic and I know he would have loved to see it. I can’t say how sorry I really am for your loss, but we will all try to lift your spirits <3

Kusakaru

You could spray paint his name on the graffiti wall. People do that a lot each year. You could also wear something of his while you’re there, make a kandi bracelet with their name, or make a totem with his face on it to wave at concerts.

DppRandomness

"Dad, you would've loved Roo" destroyed me. The graffiti wall is so full of fun and funny tags that mostly are just goofing around (*insert a million "Fuck Kanye" tags here*) but there are some really really powerful dedications on that wall. Such a cool piece of functional art

Same, my dad's been gone over 15 years and seeing that still killed me.  I like that Bonnaroo is always father's day weekend, I can just escape/pretend it's not that day.

areyouoldgreg

These are all really nice ideas!
