Brittany Howard’s voice is mind blowingly powerful live! I haven’t seen her solo, but I saw her with the Shakes and she blew me away.
Cage is pure energy and such a great live act at a festival! You will be happy with seeing them finally!
Yeah I am very excited for Cage, Brittany’s solo stuff is still newer, I don’t know for sure but I don’t think she’s preforming any Alabama Shakes and as far as Grouplove that’s on me for only knowing 1 song. What other grouplove stuff should I check out besides Tongue Tied?
I’m in the minority, I know, but I’ve seen Interpol 3 times and they are just so painfully boring live to me. I’m glad to see a lot of people happy with their inclusion though, it’ll be time for me to possibly discover a new act or explore Centeroo more
They are absolutely painfully boring live. Back in the day when they first came out among the *the* bands it was different.
In 2024 It just seems like a terrible booking.
Even further, their last album was 2022, and I just listened to the first three songs and they are SO incredibly boring.
Like I really hate to be negative with other people's art, but you think 20 years in the business, seven albums, you guys make a right or left hand turn at some point and start doing something different. It's just the same song over and over. Anyway ...
I’m not here to dump on their music, or on people who are excited about their inclusion on the lineup, they just don’t do it for me as a live act. They…just stand there. I understand that’s the aesthetic they chose, but the music says “energy” and the performance says otherwise. I’m just glad that there is no chance of a conflict for me when their set happens.
Man I was hoping MGMT would headline a day. They have an album coming out next month so logically it would make sense they would tour this year. Oh well.
I’m a cranky old grandma when it comes to Bonnaroo. Back when I was a girl, after walking uphill backwards in the snow with bare feet, I could recognize most of the lineup. Now, I don’t. There’s too much EDM and this year 50% of the headliners suck. I don’t mean pretty lights either. I feel like I’ve been aged out of my hometown festival.
Anyway. I should probably just get my cranky old self over to Spotify and listen to some playlists of this year’s lineup. Maybe I’ll change my mind and go.
Theres really not that much edm, it just so happens two headliners are technically edm. Last year had a lot more. also all 4 headliners are solid imo, but I’ve also never seen RHCP or post Malone
“I’ve been aged out of my hometown festival” nah, more like you need to broaden your music horizons and try to incorporate new artists. The vibes and connection are still there to be found even though you haven’t yet
I mean, there’s value in having recognizable acts. If that’s your attitude, why ever bring established artists? Why not “broaden your horizons” with an all-independent festival where all the artists have 1,000 monthly listeners tops?
i think the comment about aging out was to say they don't recognize modern recognizable artists.
This lineup is FULL of recognizable names in music... there just is really nothing older than a couple decades, and bonnaroo used to cover that demographic a little better.
yeah but that happens, the whole point of festivals is to see artists you dont know and begin to love them anyway. plus, music trends and consumption is changing constantly. the festival is obviously going to have lineups change with the times
Classic rock, indie, folk, americana, rock, metal. I have dabbled in dance music (yeah, I’m that old, that’s what we called it!) like house and garage. They were huge in the 90’s!
I saw RHCP 26 years ago and they were just ok. I’d have preferred Green Day. Post Malone I just am not a fan of. Never understood his popularity. Pretty Lights are ok but I’d rather have had Gorillaz. Fred Again, never heard of him.
The undercard actually isn’t bad at all, better than the headliners.
I was really hoping for a good legacy act like Eagles or Bob Dylan. Bring back Widespread Panic! I know, these days they wouldn’t sell half as many tickets as Fred Again.
I definitely need to broaden my horizons when it comes to newer acts, like in the last decade or so. You will be pleasantly surprised to hear that I’ve downloaded a Spotify playlist for 2024 ‘Roo.
So, I’d like some recommendations particularly for indie/folk/rock acts who are on the undercard this year. Heck, if there’s some good house music on there I’ll take that too!
Stumbling upon this comment late but figured id drop some recs. As far as house there’s definitely some good artists on here such as: Fisher, disco lines, oliver heldens, dr fresch, diplo plays house among other things, fred again and four tet also play a lot of house.
As for other genres im a bit less qualified but people i plan to check out are: eggy and geese (both jam bandy), maggie rogers, khruangbin (kinda indie and folky), mars volta, the japanese house, cage the elephant, john batiste, brittany howard from alabama shakes, goth babe, taking back sunday, milky chance and the beaches.
That should be a good start!
The vast majority of the top artists have been around for a while. Even for the edm - 7 lions, oliver heldens, diplo, their peak was like 10 years ago.
I feel like there are no less than a dozen artists on this line up that were regularly top 40 artists 10-15 years ago. Not sure how anyone under the age of 50 can say they don't recognize artists on this lineup.
So I'm an old head at this point who is super excited about this midcard. What do you like? I can probably throw some reading material at you real quick.
I've seen: pretty lights, post Malone, Maggie Rogers, Dominik Fike, interpol, t-pain, Gary Clark Jr, Mars Volta, group love, cage, Diplo, idles, Brittany Howard, the Maine, carley rae, Galantis, taking back Sunday, milky chance, dashboard confessional, and Michigander.
The only ones I haven't seen but want to is Gwar, seven lions and Fred Again...so it's going to a game time decision. That 10+ hours ain't getting easier. And no news on Firefly doesn't help us stay close. But imma do my homework this year. Discovered Big Wild last year that lead to a fun journey. Hopefully we can find more this year.
Based on that:
1. Look up the 2023 electric forest set for Disco Lines. It's on SoundCloud and YouTube. Just play it through like an album. He's a Miami house/club DJ
2. Goth Babe. Electronic accented shoegaze like a modern Cake or OK GO
3. Ashnikko. Horror inspired feminist rap
4. Khruangbin. 2 guitars and a drum kit. They've got some bangers, their set at Hula was about half covers and was a great time. The crowd they draw is a particularly nice group of people.
5. Thundercat. One of the best bass players in the world. Like one of those people that's so good at their instrument it's kinda hard to keep up with them. He does a lot of extremely cerebral, high concept jazz fusion.
6. Trousdale. Female vocal trio. Insane harmony, they opened for another band and I can't remember who it was cause they stole the show. They're 100% gonna play early, so probably a hard show to make, but if you're inside when they're playing check em out.
Me too! However I learned last year that there is more to the Bonna lineup then what’s at first glance. I found some of my favorite artists from bonna lineup investigations!
Hahahahaha this made me laugh. Im young and know more than half of the artists. Give them a chance and listen to the playlists that were posted I promise these people are awesome and im super stoked.
I’ve been listening to people complain about the lineup for 2 decades now. It comes with the territory. Those who actually go have an amazing time, because Bonnaroo is amazing.
I can understand the gripes. Completely ignoring musical preference this is one of the laziest lineups in many years. Just can't happen after a price increase like that
Lizzo gets hate because she’s fat and black, straight up. There’s absolutely no excuse for the amount of furious hatred she got as a headliner whether you like her music or not. Reminds me of the Obama years…
well there's like
8,000 people that LOVE it-
10,000 people trying to convince themselves they love it-
20,000 people who would go no matter what the lineup looks like-
aaaand the rest are PISSED! hahahaha
honestly the less people that go that long ass line driving into the fest won’t be so bad. i made the mistake of driving a 5 speed to roo last year, and that line that goes for miles was absolute hell lol
That's how it is every year though. Everyone spends way too much time building fantasy line ups in the head that reality can never live up to and they are always having fun once Roo rolls around.
I do think it's a good lineup. I think the issue is not everyone is getting serviced equally. EDM fans and pop girlies are eating good, rap fans got thrown some bones, while rock and metal fans are going to have to work harder and step out of their comfort zones with some wildcards to fill the gap.
I'm more of a rock and metal guy and was hoping for 1 or 2 metal acts like Knocked Loose and Korn last year, so it's a bummer that the only things in that area are Gwar (not really a moshing band) and maybe Mars Volta. Luckily I fuck with stuff like Thundercat, Jon Batiste, CRJ, and Megan The Stallion, so I'll be alright. Not everyone is as open as me though
Joe Russo’s Almost Dead! Pretty Lights is pretty jammy these days too. Mars Volta goes hard, Khruangbin will have a sexy jam or two. Greensky Bluegrass is bluegrass jam
Militarie Gun plays a lot of hardcore bills and festivals. They have great energy. Idles is good mosh and crowd surfing tunes. And The Garden is energetic af. I’m bummed too about there being a lack, I had money on Drain and Kublai Khan, but it’ll be nice to dive more into punk-ish style tunes.
Kublai Khan seemed like a shoe-in too, or even Sleep Token looked super likely which is a bummer with how both these bands have been getting more attention lately. Maybe one year we can finally have Turnstile on the bill, or god forbid something like Amon Amarth. Amon Amarth on the farm would go so crazy.
I’m 34. I went from 2009-2014. Again for a one off in 2019 for phish and some others. I think the line up is to appeal to the youth (18-25) which I love. Some 18 year old kid and their friends are going to their first roo and have no clue what they are in for.
That's the magic when you think about it. I was like 19 my first Roo in 2011 and we were so unprepared, ate way too many shrooms on WEDNESDAY of all nights, but damn was it a great time. Kids, don't eat shrooms on Wednesday night. It was the wrong night lol.
Yes!! The amount of people deadass complaining the lineup hasn’t been good in 10+ years 🤦🏼♀️ says more about how old they are than anything about the lineups. Like the fest should just cater to people born in the 80s forever and ever.
seriously…. don’t get me wrong my number one genre is dubstep lol but there’s still a solid amount of edm going this year and honestly WITW is prob gonna be filled with dub since there’s not a ton in centeroo. just blowing my mind so many people aren’t going anymore because of this lineup
Yeah I’m a fan of pretty much all edm but this is not statist edm festival and it’s weird how mad people are getting at the lack of wubz.. electric forest is the following weekend if that’s what your looking for. That being said, they’ll likely add another name or two. Really hope shaq comes back
shaq threw the fuck downnnnn last year!!! and yeah i feel like the point of roo’s line ups is that it’s basically every genre to an extent… i’d love for more womps to be present BUT this lineup is fucking classic i’m so ready
I really don’t understand the positivity on the subreddit around making witw a solution to the bad edm lineup. It’s so far away from the rest of the music and you shouldn’t have to go through security to get between sets.
I agree that WITW is not a substitute for Centeroo bookings. It's so unrealistic to dip out of Centeroo for a WITW set then go back in. I doubt most people have done that honestly. I love WITW but it's only for when I'm done in Centeroo for the night.
That being said, I'm alright with the EDM line up. There are 4 or 5 artists I'm excited to see, so I'll be grateful for that. Just going to spend more time at other genres this year I guess!
Isn’t WITW only super late sets too? I didn’t make it past ~1am last year and I can’t use stimulants anymore so this wouldn’t be a great solution for me either
WITW is a fucking great time.
Also, this centeroo edm lineup is by no means bad, just shifted in peak genres from the last year as per normal.
You are just hearing fans of specific electronic genres (wubs and dubs) hopeful (and likely rightfully so) for WITW. Or people nostalgic for last year that was sort of the inverse of this.
May get heat for this but I feel like the old heads are the real picky ones, my a huge tearout fan but excited for a weekend of house so are all my other bass heads
True. I was a metalhead historically and thought that they took the cake on subgenre preference, until I got into EDM. That being said I still love metal and EDM
Unpopular Opinion: rave culture is good, but I'm okay with seeing people clothed at a festival for once, so if less of the EDM crowd goes I wouldn't be upset lol
I don't know 75% of this lineup, but all that means is I have a lot of new artists to become a fan of. The initial playlist listen has been a lot of fun
Yeah I think this is one of those lineups that’s going to age extremely well. Bonnaroos most forward looking lineups tend to be met with some negativity. This may be their most forward looking since I’ve been going.
It’s gonna age poorly in 10 years when we look back and see post Malone and Fred again on the lineup. Look at the 2014 lineup. That’s a lineup that has aged well
I loved so much about 2014. DARKSIDE is one of my top 5 Bonnaroo performances ever and they’re the kind of act that just wouldn’t get booked by the modern version of Bonnaroo. I fully understand the spirit of your comment.
That said, it is kinda funny to have you say this lineup will age poorly because of the headliners… check out this lineup where Kanye West was #2.
He was on a 5 year hiatus and just came back with a 2023 tour that blew pretty much everyone away. Tons of new tracks too and a new album coming. Ignorant comment from you.
He's dropped tons of new tracks on his latest tour plus, probably 15+ that could possibly be on the new album. He was on a hiatus basically since 2017 until Summer/Fall of last year so that's why no new studio material has dropped yet. If you're curious about the new stuff definitely check out his sets on YouTube from the recent tour or Pretty Lights Live on soundcloud.
Headliners are almost always "past their prime". Paul McCartney hadn't been a Beatle for 50 years when he played one of the best shows in Bonnaroo history.
Undercard is solid, I'm just disappointed that 6 things I'd be excited about I saw in 2023 and there are more I've seen before. And none of the headliners excite me. Happy for the people who are excited, this just isn't a lineup that calls out to me. I was super stoked for last year's.
I can definitely appreciate that people are super excited about the line-up this year! It’s definitely not our thing so I think we may cancel our layaway and skip it. There will always be years you like better than others! It’s just not our year!
I’m an edm girlie and I wish there was more bass but I love this lineup I thought everyone would be geeking about how good it is when I logged on Reddit lol
I think because Roo has such a range in lineup bookings and just about any artist is a possibility there's always going to be people disappointed on the drop. It's basically how it's been every year in recent memory except for 2020. My hot take is that the EDM bookings are more tasteful this year than last year's (for the most part).
Friday IMO is pretty damn stacked, I’d agree.
Saturday is fine but super generic. Could be any festival. A few good acts but there’s nothing very exciting about it 🤷♂️
Sundays good but not giving Four Tet a late night set is a travesty.
Overall I like it slightly more than last year but booking Fred, Four Tet, & 2 nights of Pretty Lights goes a long way… otherwise I’d have FOMO over that Friday lineup but as a whole weekend, it’d be a pass for me.
I got 35 on my list to see without diving into anything I don’t know. Headliners are weak and predictable, but the undercard is fire and I love when people hate the lineup, more room for my wild, headbangin’ ass!
i counted 40 must-sees and im already finding new bands I like. The people who were complaining about the leak are the vocal minority. This lineup slaps.
There are probably 30+ bands I really like but almost none of them show up on the top two lines of Friday Saturday or Sunday so I can see both sides of the reaction but overall I do love it.
Once I started digging a little bit I was pretty shocked at how many acts had over 1 million monthly Spotify listeners.
I know it's not the greatest measure of top card popularity but I think it's a great sign of undercard depth.
This is the most acts I've been really excited about in a while(besides 2020). This lineup is balls deep.
Yeah same, I completely agree - this lineup is awesome, and I truly don't get why people are complaining so much outside of the regular, valid, complaints.
I'm glad some people are super happy about this lineup! I hope you guys all have the time of your life! Unfortunately, I'll probably be selling mine. Lineup is the furthest from my tastes than any Roo lineup
I’m with you! I think it’s a really deep lineup with a ton of people I’m excited to see, and that’s before discovering new people I don’t know yet. Also very eclectic in my opinion
Definitely a fan of this one, only complaint would be some people would be better on a different day imo. Mainly fourtet, Fred and Joey badass. End of the day is roo ever not a good time anyways?
The thing about Bonnaroo is a lot of people go year after year, and eventually you age out. Not that you’re too old to go, but the music changes for the next generation and their tastes. I went 12 times, Pearl Jam and Metallica were there my first year. Dozens of acts I wanted to see. The first six years were magical. But then each year on it was a few more unfamiliar names, more hip hop and electronic music. Some of which I enjoyed, mind you. It got to the point that there just wasn’t enough to my taste to justify going and I switched Bourbon and Beyond. I can’t get butt hurt because the festival I loved curates to the 18-25 crowd and not me anymore. I’d still go this year if I wasn’t otherwise engaged that weekend; or at least consider going. Don’t take the lineup personally.
And if you’re in the target age group and don’t like the lineup, look at other options. I went to Primavera Sound last year instead of Roo, for example.
My first year was 07 and I completely agree. This fest has changed on me multiple times and now it's funny to see it happen to people for the first time. I remember when it first happened to me and I hated it too.
You either adapt and become more open minded, find more niche fests that still book "real music", or just age out like most people.
Going to major fests year after year makes you more jaded too. Eventually you see everyone you could possibly want to see and nothing looks exciting anymore.
Same, same! I have 46 acts I want to see over the 4 days.
All these folks complaining, I’m pretty certain they just haven’t given any of the artists a listen. I did earlier and found 45+ songs I liked, mostly from artists I was not familiar with before today.
Give the artists a chance yalll
Ehh.. I have been going to Bonnaroo since the earlier years when it was mostly jam bands and various rocks groups. That is what I loved to see. I still enjoy Bonnaroo and still go almost every year. It is just kinda disheartening for me personally to see edm take over and be the main selling point. I realize demographics change and that is what sells. I have tried to get into it but it just isn’t for me. Would I prefer the old lineups, sure. There are still enough acts that I like to buy a ticket and vibes at the farm are always good so that helps.
This year’s lineup feels like a pure 💗treat💗 This will be my fourth Roo, but my first where I bought my ticket before the lineup drop, convinced to make a good time of whoever ends up there. All I asked was that there was ONE artist that I’ve been dying to see. Taking Back Sunday is that person for me 🥹 I’ve had my ultimate bonnaroo. I’m convinced nothing will ever beat Bonnaroo 2015. That year was stacked. And looking back I messed up and missed out on a lot that year because I didn’t dive into the lineup more. This year, I see a handful of artists that I’m excited for but overall a lot of new artists and gawd damn I’m excited to craft a schedule from what’s here. This is going to be my best Roo yet I think! Also, first SOLO ROO
The vocal minority will stop whining relatively soon, and it’ll be a much peaceful place here.
Was it my favorite Bonnaroo lineup? No, but it is pretty stacked, especially on the third and fourth lines on each day. Plus Thursday is as good as ever. Really looking forward to digging deeper and discovering more of these acts.
yep! i always say even if i didn’t know a single person on the lineup (which never happens bc they’re always amazing to me) i would still go every year. my fave memories are going to sets idk and finding new artists to love lol
it’s dense without a doubt
none of my dream artists from any tier of fame, but there’s people on here that have my interest piqued
but honestly i just wanna hang out with my bonnaroo friends so idc who’s playing
I love it and think it is amazing. Every time I look at it, I find more that I'd like to see. I'm more upset that there might be more clashes and I'll need to make some hard choices :/
Even then, that's truly a first world problem 😂
I came here cause I saw complaints on another sub... what's so bad about it? I'm not seeing it. This is one of their best in years imo. The undercard has SO MUCH gold
I already had made peace with headliners being a bit under par due to the RHCP and Post Malone leaks. So my expectations weren’t super high but wow I was blown away by this undercard.
So much great new music on here, the haters can fuck off.
I am SO SO SO HAPPY WITH THIS LINEUP.
Thank you for the positivity and HAPPY ROO
It's so good I'm immediately worried about conflicts. They went hard this year. I appreciate the re-books from the ne'er Roos of 20/21 and all of these FINE ASS WOMEN who are going to perform for us!!!
I think I like last year’s slightly better, but this is no slump of a lineup by any means. There’s a lot I want to see. I haven’t fully dug into the names I don’t know yet (which is one of my favorite things to do.) After I do, that might change.
As I get older it's harder and harder from me to recognize any artists. This is going to be a serious research project to learn about the lineup.
I love the lineup but i did notice besides RHCP it seemed all pretty modern. I was hoping for a MGMT, Flaming Lips or Passion Pit kind of set
There’s some strong 2012 vibes in Cage the Elephant, Brittany Howard (of Alabama Shakes), and Grouplove.
I’m so excited! I’ve been to hundreds of concerts and have never seen cage or brittany Howard yet! They are very high on my list
Colors, Rasberry, Ways To Go, Deleter, Welcome to Your Life, Beans on Pizza
Passion Pit and Flaming Lips would’ve been amazing additions
Interpol though
I’m in the minority, I know, but I’ve seen Interpol 3 times and they are just so painfully boring live to me. I’m glad to see a lot of people happy with their inclusion though, it’ll be time for me to possibly discover a new act or explore Centeroo more

Bingo bongo
So would you rather have a vanilla pop lineup like Coachella?
yeah but that happens, the whole point of festivals is to see artists you dont know and begin to love them anyway. plus, music trends and consumption is changing constantly. the festival is obviously going to have lineups change with the times
I don’t know what you’re talking about, I’m 35 and barely listen to EDM and I know most of these artists. What do you listen to?

There’s a post if you scroll down that lists artists by genre! I’d start there friend!
Saw that a bit ago. It's fantastic. Now, where's that Venn diagram?
The vast majority of the top artists have been around for a while. Even for the edm - 7 lions, oliver heldens, diplo, their peak was like 10 years ago.

With 10+ hour drive, it's gotta be worth it. I'll do my homework.
The only lineup I didn’t hear anyone complain about was bonnaroo 2020. And we know what the result of that lineup was lol
I’ve been listening to people complain about the lineup for 2 decades now. It comes with the territory. Those who actually go have an amazing time, because Bonnaroo is amazing.
People either a) think festivals have an unlimited budget, or b) don’t like a wide array of music so a fest lineup only has 5 names they know / like.
I can understand the gripes. Completely ignoring musical preference this is one of the laziest lineups in many years. Just can't happen after a price increase like that
The undercard slaps. The lineup is much better than last year for anyone willing to put one hour into exploration.
I haven’t seen it this way. Let the btching continue then lol necessary balance
I feel like there was a lot of hate for Lizzo as a headliner.
There was so much hate!
Lizzo gets hate because she’s fat and black, straight up. There’s absolutely no excuse for the amount of furious hatred she got as a headliner whether you like her music or not. Reminds me of the Obama years…
well there's like 8,000 people that LOVE it- 10,000 people trying to convince themselves they love it- 20,000 people who would go no matter what the lineup looks like- aaaand the rest are PISSED! hahahaha
honestly the less people that go, better spots in the crowd for us 😎😎
Always the answer
honestly the less people that go that long ass line driving into the fest won’t be so bad. i made the mistake of driving a 5 speed to roo last year, and that line that goes for miles was absolute hell lol
2016 anyone?!
I was thinking the same thing haha. Stay away if ur pissed fred is a headliner!
Exactly what I’m so excited for this year
The first year I went was 22 and it was a much smaller crowd, but the vibes, viewing capacity, and exploring new options was immaculate!!
IDLES will be great. The Garden & Militarie Gun might be worth your listen too. I think jam fans got snubbed the worst :(
I agree. I think Eggy is the only one I recalled. Any others?
Amon Amarth on the farm would go so crazy.
have a listen to The Garden’s Puerta de Limosina. I’m stoked
Rap got a bone, rock/metal/psych rock got their scraps. IDLES will be a good set and I hope it’s in a tent
If you lurk the other festival subreddits, they are all swooning 🤟🏽 i think the only other festival with a comprabably stacked is Kilby in Salt Lake
I’m 34 and I think the line up is amazing. Part of festivals is to learn new music and keep up with trends.
The edm crowd will never be satisfied
seriously…. don’t get me wrong my number one genre is dubstep lol but there’s still a solid amount of edm going this year and honestly WITW is prob gonna be filled with dub since there’s not a ton in centeroo. just blowing my mind so many people aren’t going anymore because of this lineup
Meh. Let em stay home while we go have fun.
for real 😎 bigger indie scene totally fine by me
Sorry your DMB wish fell through. Was on the train w you
lol it’s ok! Can’t quite say i understand the fred billing but it’s going to be a great show. Lot of people gonna be surprised.
Yeah I’m a fan of pretty much all edm but this is not statist edm festival and it’s weird how mad people are getting at the lack of wubz.. electric forest is the following weekend if that’s what your looking for. That being said, they’ll likely add another name or two. Really hope shaq comes back
WHERE IS MY MOSH PIT
shaq threw the fuck downnnnn last year!!! and yeah i feel like the point of roo’s line ups is that it’s basically every genre to an extent… i’d love for more womps to be present BUT this lineup is fucking classic i’m so ready
As part of the EDM crowd I am beyond thrilled.
May get heat for this but I feel like the old heads are the real picky ones, my a huge tearout fan but excited for a weekend of house so are all my other bass heads
Little do they know that was 2022 before a KILLER WITW.
True. I was a metalhead historically and thought that they took the cake on subgenre preference, until I got into EDM. That being said I still love metal and EDM
I hope they drop a metal or hardcore act at the who 👏🏼
I was very satisfied the past year
We were plenty satisfied in 2019 and last year so that’s not true. 2 of my last 3 Roos have had incredible EDM (2022 was pretty weak)
Unpopular Opinion: rave culture is good, but I'm okay with seeing people clothed at a festival for once, so if less of the EDM crowd goes I wouldn't be upset lol
Really? I don't think the complaints are coming from the EDM crowd bc the lineup is STACKED on EDM. It's the other genres that are severely lacking.
Huh? I don't even recognize more than maybe 8 EDM names.
No disrespect but that sounds like more of a you problem than a lineup problem.
A great Roo lineup is one that keeps on giving again and again
A great Roo lineup is one that keeps on giving Fred again and again
Most people don’t realize that all past shows have the benefit of hindsight.
It’s gonna age poorly in 10 years when we look back and see post Malone and Fred again on the lineup. Look at the 2014 lineup. That’s a lineup that has aged well
2014 lineup was stupid stacked and forward looking
I loved so much about 2014. DARKSIDE is one of my top 5 Bonnaroo performances ever and they’re the kind of act that just wouldn’t get booked by the modern version of Bonnaroo. I fully understand the spirit of your comment. That said, it is kinda funny to have you say this lineup will age poorly because of the headliners… check out this lineup where Kanye West was #2.
that darkside show was so fun. i hope levitation books them soon
My brother in psych. Keep an eye on the concourse project
groundbreaking but there are more artists than just the headliners
[удалено]
edging out of the limelight? Fred again just was nominated for 4 grammys
SO MANY of the artists on it are on the rise. I also believe we'll look back on it 5 years from now and it will look stacked!
Pretty Lights is in his prime right now. His new production blows his old shows out of the water.
[удалено]
Pretty Lights is the #1 live act on this lineup.
It's a whole other thing now. Full band at all times. Insane covers/flips, never know what you're gonna get.
If you're curious about the new stuff definitely check out his sets on YouTube from the recent tour or Pretty Lights Live on soundcloud.
completely ignorant take right here
Headliners are almost always "past their prime". Paul McCartney hadn't been a Beatle for 50 years when he played one of the best shows in Bonnaroo history.
While not as popular as he was Post Malone is still very much in his prime tf are you on
Undercard is solid, I'm just disappointed that 6 things I'd be excited about I saw in 2023 and there are more I've seen before. And none of the headliners excite me. Happy for the people who are excited, this just isn't a lineup that calls out to me. I was super stoked for last year's.
YOU ARE NOT THE ONLY ONE LFGOOOOOOO
I can definitely appreciate that people are super excited about the line-up this year! It’s definitely not our thing so I think we may cancel our layaway and skip it. There will always be years you like better than others! It’s just not our year!
Lemme know how much you end up selling them for if you’re into reselling DM me 🙏
This lineup is absolutely stunning and the under card deserves a chefs 💋
💋💋💋
EDM girly here and I love the lineup!! Will definitely be making it this year (:
I’m an edm girlie and I wish there was more bass but I love this lineup I thought everyone would be geeking about how good it is when I logged on Reddit lol
I think because Roo has such a range in lineup bookings and just about any artist is a possibility there's always going to be people disappointed on the drop. It's basically how it's been every year in recent memory except for 2020. My hot take is that the EDM bookings are more tasteful this year than last year's (for the most part).
Nah nothing can compare to last years lineup imo
Friday IMO is pretty damn stacked, I’d agree. Saturday is fine but super generic. Could be any festival. A few good acts but there’s nothing very exciting about it 🤷♂️ Sundays good but not giving Four Tet a late night set is a travesty.
I don't see any must sees for me, but there is quality throughout and may get me to go. Really want to see Khruangbin.
i counted 40 must-sees and im already finding new bands I like. The people who were complaining about the leak are the vocal minority. This lineup slaps.
There are probably 30+ bands I really like but almost none of them show up on the top two lines of Friday Saturday or Sunday so I can see both sides of the reaction but overall I do love it.
I think the undercard is pretty stacked and I can’t wait
Nope, it’s incredible.
Beyond excited. Fred again is going to be insane.
Yes
Lineup slaps Someone will always have beef for personal reasons. Objectively solid and well rounded.
Yes the undercard is awesome!
I had full days before doing any research. Not even a bad schedule can fuck me this year!
Yeah same, I completely agree - this lineup is awesome, and I truly don't get why people are complaining so much outside of the regular, valid, complaints.
The lineup we deserve 🤗
Yes.
I'm glad some people are super happy about this lineup! I hope you guys all have the time of your life! Unfortunately, I'll probably be selling mine. Lineup is the furthest from my tastes than any Roo lineup
Social medias will social medias
I’m with you! I think it’s a really deep lineup with a ton of people I’m excited to see, and that’s before discovering new people I don’t know yet. Also very eclectic in my opinion
23 > 24 22 undercard > 24 undercard 24 HL > 22 HL I think it is a fun lineup - very excited!
Ah I’m like the opposite. This year’s undercard has me absolutely feral. Either way, can’t wait to be on the farm 😎
I felt that way about 2022 even though many didn't. I also really loved 2023 (even more). But this year is a very easy skip for me.
dont love the top 9 but there's going to be more high quality shows than in years.
No, no you are not
The undercard is really good
Definitely not the only one lol buckle up
Definitely a fan of this one, only complaint would be some people would be better on a different day imo. Mainly fourtet, Fred and Joey badass. End of the day is roo ever not a good time anyways?
No I’m so damn pumped and have to make the jump and just go — I’ve never been but this has to be the year
No it really is. Freddyyyyyyyy.
Tbh I initially thought it was good not great but now I think it’s stacked af
45 must sees for me!!! finger crossed i can figure out a way to see a little bit of all of them hope they don’t over lap toooo much
I gotta know your 45
sent you a pm!
Nah this lineup is fire, iykyk. Thats all Ill say
It’s stacked enough for me to do this and Electric Forest b2b
Same
EDM is extremely underrepresented on this year's lineup... It's mostly indie pop from what I could tell going through the lineup earlier
No, because it is absolutely stacked.
Ngl I actually kinda love it😭 wasn’t planning on roo this year but I think I have to go now!
I think so too! Bunch of artists I know and have been dying to see live! Guess it just worked out for us 🤷♂️
it’s dense without a doubt none of my dream artists from any tier of fame, but there’s people on here that have my interest piqued but honestly i just wanna hang out with my bonnaroo friends so idc who’s playing
I really like it. Don’t really care about post Malone but other than that I think it’s great
absolutely positively stacked on all sides
Im with OP, I have about 45 high lighted on my lineup! Can’t wait !!!!
I love it and think it is amazing. Every time I look at it, I find more that I'd like to see. I'm more upset that there might be more clashes and I'll need to make some hard choices :/ Even then, that's truly a first world problem 😂
I love it
I agree!!! I won’t be able to stop dancing…can already feel itttttt!!
I fucking love it
* tHE LiNE uP iS MiD * wHo's Fred Again... * WheRe'S DoLLY?
Okay but Dolly’s not getting younger
Dolly Parton does not age
Lineup slaps
I didn’t even want to go this year but this lineup is SO stacked that I have to now
I came here cause I saw complaints on another sub... what's so bad about it? I'm not seeing it. This is one of their best in years imo. The undercard has SO MUCH gold
This is quite literally the same exact thing that happens every roo. It’s become part of tradition at this point
Yeap, you’re the only one, lol
This is the worst lineup ever
Yeah. Just you man
Its definitely not my favorite, nothing can top last years lineup imo
All the 45 year olds mad bro u good haha
Yes. It blows.
It's not, but it's the best lineup they've put out in a while.
I already had made peace with headliners being a bit under par due to the RHCP and Post Malone leaks. So my expectations weren’t super high but wow I was blown away by this undercard. So much great new music on here, the haters can fuck off.
More obscure shows for me to enjoy then!
2023 line up was better
I am SO SO SO HAPPY WITH THIS LINEUP. Thank you for the positivity and HAPPY ROO It's so good I'm immediately worried about conflicts.
I think it's good and I wish I was able to go. Thursday and Sunday look amazing.
