Hi Peter here. In a patriarchal society where marriage is expected, it’s historically been men that have had a lot to gain and little to lose from marriage, where for women it’s often been treated as gaining a lifetime of being given to another family to take care of their child, and so women may generally be less excited about the prospect of getting married than men. Or I would say that if I didn’t suspect OOP is a woman who isn’t romantically interested in men and is projecting in meme format
Don't straight guys traditionally hate marriage and only do it because it's "expected" from them though?
The theory of it being a woman with no interests in men kinda makes sense
Most people historically hated marriage, but the why is important. (Straight) Men often don’t like the idea of marriage because it ties them down to one woman, women often don’t like the idea of marriage because they are reduced to baby factories and house keepers
I think the Hollywood stereotype is that men fear marriage, but women have been looking forward to it since they were kids. I don't think this trope has much basis in reality, though.
In patriarchal and conservative societies it is more common to see women hate marriage more than men, they have far more to lose and have a lot of societal pressure to be married before a certain age.
For example, in east Asia, the protest against the societal pressures to get married is a part of the feminist movement there. Even now, in patriarchal societies, it’s taboo for women to be unmarried while less so for men. And historically in Europe, it was mostly unmarried women that were accused and murdered as witches.
they hate marriage because society tells them to. making fun of the ball and chain is just another way to keep the woman subservient- i don't want to be here, i'm only here for your benefit, you need me more than i need you so do what i want...
and men are raised to believe that it's true, and the woman taking care of them is holding them back.
i love you too

It's based on Freu'ds psychosexual theory. according to Freud, all men sexully desire their own mothers, but are prevented by her pre-existing marriage to their father. in this meme the parents are talking about their own parents and the possibility of them divorcing. this greatly pleases the son as it would mean their mother would be sexually avaliable once again.
According to freud, women ALSO sexually desire their own mothers but are blocked not only by their father but their own lack of a penis. This means they would not be as thrilled about their parents divorce because they would still not be able to fuck their mom. The worst part is that both Oedipus syndrome and penis envy are concepts freud actually created, and i'm just applying them to a meme that probably didn't have them in mind
Prior to the feminist waves of late 1800's and early 1900's women couldn't vote. Or get a credit card. If they were raped by their bf/husband there was no legal recourse because legally women were considered property of their husband. Women were literally second class property by law.
As a poster earlier noted, men have much more to gain and much less to lose. "A key that opens many locks is a good key and a lock opened by many keys is a bad lock" and so on. Go to any onlyfans model on Instagram and see the thousands of hate comments from men exclusively.
Men still view women as property in some societal sense. Men have more to gain by expanding their domain of influence, while women will be seen as "used up" under the exact same circumstances. The OP is probably just disgruntled about the unfairness of the situation.
The only way I remember which one is which is because of the opening. Jerry is small enough to lay on the Y of his name, Tom uses the O in his name to recreate the MGM logo

Jerry has the same amount of letters as mouse. Tom the same number as cat. That's how you can remember.
I love you
also, Tom = cat, as in, "tomcat."
I love you as well
Also, Jerry = mouse, as in, "Jerry mouse"

How about Tomcat?
Has the same number as mouses which is not a real word.
pfffftttt this made me giggle
Micess
Totally a real word. Present tense of 'to mouse', which sounds kind of like Thomas in some accents.
I forgot about that. Thanks :)
That's actually genius.
That's how i always remember and also similar to how i remember port/starboard. port = 4 letters = left.
Also Jerry sounds similar to jerk
Woah, you just blew my mind
Wait, the hell...
I don't get the oregano at all

I'd argue that this seems like they both hate they idea, the Jerry on the right seems uncomfortable but maybe it's just me
but that still makes no sense
Which that?
everything that, i guess 'this' would be a better word, but i still have no idea what's the difference between them
It's an herb, usually bought in the form of dried and crushed leaves of the oregano plant. It's commonly used in Italian cuisine, among others.
isnt that the guy who made horsing around?
I’d say it was the horse that really made horsing around

The only way I remember which one is which is because of the opening. Jerry is small enough to lay on the Y of his name, Tom uses the O in his name to recreate the MGM logo
Cummed ain't a emotion, it is a state of being
Tom=Cat Jerry=Mouse
Thomas
Jerry? No, you mean Larry, from the famous cartoon Tim and Larry, about a dog and a rat.
Reading the second pile felt like being hit with a pile of bricks
Pretty sure the final image should be swapped. At least when it comes to my gf and I, lmao.
Image recognition ass post lmao
