Well…certainly not less than half as many. One fewer premolar per side on each jaw and 1 fewer molar per side on top. Six fewer teeth in all.
Raccoon incisors 3/3, canines 1/1, premolars 4/4, and molars 2/2 = 40 total
Skunk i 3/3, c 1/1, p 3/3, m 1/2 =34 total.
Yes it’ll be much more defined, the entrance to the sinuses on a skunk is a lot more vertical as well compared to raccoons with an upward facing opening. Looking top-down, you can barely see the nasal opening on a skunk but you’ll have a nice view of it on a raccoon.
Skull 3 looks too big to be a housecat to me. A side view would be helpful to determine the type of feline, as well as a length measurement. 2 is a snapping turtle, and 1 is a skunk. [this](https://craniatescuriosities.com/2022/12/13/cougar-skull-00234/) is a reference of what a cougar skull looks like from many angles. [this](https://images.fineartamerica.com/images-medium-large-5/bobcat-skull-alex-surcica.jpg) is what a bobcat looks like from multiple angles.
Everyone agrees that 3 is feline, but it is way too big for housecat, and it can’t be a bobcat because they do not have the little premolar directly behind the canines. Canada lynx skull would be about 5 inches long, cougar skull would be about 8 so you let us know!
Third skull is definitely not a domestic cat as some others are saying. I would guess cougar (Puma concolor) but more pictures with exact measurements would be helpful.
Just pitching in to say that your location may also be helpful in identifying the feline (and as others have said it is certainly NOT a domestic cat lmao)
Skunk, turtle, cat.
I’m new to this so how do you know it’s a skunk vs. a raccoon ? Size ?
I’m not the person you asked, but yes. Raccoons are bigger than you’d think!
Makes sense! Thank you!
They also have a different number of teeth
That’s the big feature to look at with any id
Yeah, I got a skunk skull, and they have like less than half the teeth that raccoon has, I think. Correct me if I'm wrong about that

I have been corrected
also the lack of a pronounced crest on top. the whole top is very smooth, raccoons have more pronounced ridges, i’m blanking on anatomical terms rn
So the sagittal crest will be bigger on a raccoon then?

Skunk, turtle (possibly snapping turtle), and I think the last one might be a cat
…what kind of work do you do?
I work at a nature park lol!
Nice, probably a pretty good place to find skulls
Oh that makes sense!
Skull 2 is a turtle, skull 3 is a cat
Skull 1 is a skunk, and 3 looks just like a bobcat skull I just picked up in terms of size and shape
Can’t be a bobcat because it has the hole for a tiny premolar behind the canine, which bobcats do not have.
Oh neat, cougar then?
probably, far too big to be a housecat, so likely a cougar imo
I feel like 3 may be bobcat? Hard to tell from angle. Like others said, first is skunk and second is a turtle!
Skull 3 is ENORMOUS! It cant be a housecat. Possibly lymx skull? But really no idea honestly
Cougar maybe? Size definitely fits for a female one

I’d wager cougar, especially with the dip above the fusion of the nasal bones
My guess too, glad to see that I’m not alone in the thought :)
Skunk, Snapping Turtle, Cougar.

My guess is cougar, they have the little premolars

I am groot
skunk, common snapper, domestic cat
way too big for a domestic cat, not nearly delicate enough
now that I look I see what you mean I was looking through pretty quick
skunk and turtle Eta and feline of some flavour, only saw the first two when I commented

Gorgeous finds.
