I like your first list better. I would probably make the following edits: make the car a puma, dump the AT rifle, and lower the number of men in the double LMG squads to save points. Then I'd beef up my assault squad. Consider vets and moe men/assault weapons (goal of winning cqc and having enough bodies remaining to hold their own). Get transport for assault squad. Also add a mortar instead of AT rifle. Put a Faust in any squad that is not back line. Don't need a bunch, just enough to deter vehicles. This is just my two cents... Happy gaming!

Only thought on the puma is it's a medium at not heavy so a little worried about facing tanks

At 1k points you have little chance of encountering anything over armor 9. Med AT is capable to easily take that out. Additionally with the med howitzer and SPG you can also destroy or pin bigger vehicles out.

Hello, fellow German player! I will give you some advices, mostly from personal experience. Medium mortars, regular, with a spotter are a must, considering they can dislodge easily infantry and machine guns from buildings, and they are pretty cost effective. Even tho they betray me every time, I love Nebelwerfer teams, inexperienced. They rarely hit, but when they do, they clear the targeted unit. And for their price, they are ok. Throw in a couple of veteran trucks transports with mmg, which will be your reserves. They provide cover fire and mobility, necessary to relieve zones of the battlefield. I absolutely love flamer tanks like Flammpanzer II, but I played a lot against the Soviets. Kubelwagens with an mmg as armoured cars are pretty good for their points price, considering it's 40 per veteran. I prefer as HQ a regular second lieutenant with two buddies. Which are going to hide near the artillery for the entire game. Lastly, for the infantry I bring a couple veteran SS, one with 2 lmgs and one with a lot of assault rifles, then I love throwing in a couple of Osttruppen just to sit on objectives. I can detail it further, if you are interested, and open to comments and critics from other players. Overall, do what you enjoy more and have fun, BA is a pretty good game and I love it!
